Pretty but Useless & brews extremely weak coffee – VIC The worst moka pot I have ever used. Brews the weakest coffee around due to the coffee reservoir being too small. The collection part is also not appropriate as the coffee spurts out all over the induction top while brewing. Pretty & useless, so I lost a lot of money & sold it to a collector of moka pots who intends to sit it on a shelf & never use.it.

A Classic Case of Style Over Substance – First the good points. It looks great, it's well made and easy to clean for the most part. I've had this for about 6 weeks, plenty of time to sort out the quirks that moka pots can have and at the end of this 6 weeks I can be pretty certain it's not a good pot. First, the basket is small so it doesn't take quite enough coffee to brew at full flavour. It also cannot be over filled as any compacting of the coffee stops the pot from brewing at all - pressure releases via the valve rather than pushing the water up. The temperature of your stove must be low otherwise the brew is too fast and covers your stove with coffee, but if the temperature is too low it once again doesn't brew, releasing steam from the valve.

Finally, if you have managed to get the exact grind, perfect amount of coffee and ideal temperature and have in fact brewed a pot of coffee, you will need to pour over the sink as the pouring lip is badly designed and will drip coffee down the side of the pot as well as into your cup.

Then there's the strange choice to include a deep ridge inside the pot which can hold onto old coffee no matter how carefully you wash the pot.

So if you want something pretty to sit on the stove then go for it, but if you'd like a cup of coffee, buy something else.
