Knob broke - unable to fix – Knob broke - paid for replacement this did not work. Looked at videos online of people who had replaced knobs & also managed to get it to simmer but none of these fixes worked . Replacement was hard to find but I managed to get one online for $14. Unable to simmer anything ! Now stuck with a stove with only one super hot but er and am worried I knob will break . Expensive crappy stove Show details
Very powerful and windproof – This is a great stove. It's powerful and practical. The windproof burners are very useful when camping. It doesn't adjust to simmer, so it's hard to control when cooking . I used a defuser on the burner and that did the trick. Cooked our fish beautifully. Show details
They all have a problem from factory – Used once and the valve on the cooler unscrewed itself, took it back to anaconda who has given me the biggest run around. Because they have so many problems they got fed up of replacing them so they now send it back to Coleman to be fixed which takes weeks and if I get it back I’m sure it will happen again. Don’t buy one it’s that simple. Show details
How to tweak this stove for far better results! – As above. It's because Coleman cannot be bothered using the correct lubricant on their valves. They use sticky stuff causing the knobs/gas control to "bounce back" to a higher setting even when turned down = HIGHLY FRUSTRATING !!! See below for a link to a quick, easy & reliable fix regarding the inherent problem on first use - which is how to… Read more
get the unit to simmer flame without roasting everything in sight.

Disappointing – Flame on or flame off- no low at all. And yes, one of my knobs stripped on first use. Show details
poor design product – I bought this stove with excitement. We took it on one trip and unfortunately the left knob broke off. I read the reviews and people have mentioned it is a bit sensitive and you don't have to turn it much. Show details
I have a Coleman Gladiator Fire Knight – Carrying is OK, though I find the unusual shape of the regulator difficult to attach to the cooker (very annoying). Also Coleman doesn’t supply any other attachments to make for easier connection. Difficult to regulate flame! Disappointing!!! Show details
Fantastic – I purchased this second hand on marketplace after reading the reviews on here I wasn't sure new was worth it . First start up and was whistling like a steam train but soon returned to normal . I was expecting the flame problem mentioned above but mine must've had the you tube mod already performed as I had no issue getting a low flame. I purchase… Read more
the grill plate that goes on top and in a moderate SW wind had no problem doing a couple of BBQd garlic butter crayfish for dinner and bacon eggs and mushrooms for breakfast . I would have no issues recommending this , with the simple you tube mod.
Good for boiling water. Bad for other cooking – This would be a terrific cooker apart from two things: 1) As already stated above, this thing is like the Human Torch from The Fantastic Four, it's either Flame ON, or it's off. It's impossible to set at a simmer. The control dial springs back a bit each time you turn it plus it has a mind of it's own and the flame strength will slowly increase… Read more
over a few minutes. So to summarise, terrible flame control. Great if you want to boil water or weld something. 2) Cleaning the tray under the burner is impossible. It stains easily and the stains stay there.
Would I buy it again ?. Never.
Great performance, will whistle it's own tune, poor control knobs – Excellent ability to carry with optional griller plate, adaptor for gas cylinder, shifter and small toaster. The control knobs seem very easy to strip due to the fine teeth on the spline, needs spare knobs or greater care. I also have had to see about replacement knobs as my daughter stripped the control knob the first time we took it out, "I… Read more
hardly touched it" was the comment. Other than that, I was extremely happy with the ability to perform. Considering the number of comments that I have seen about difficulty in controlling the flame, I have also bought an additional diffuser put out by Oz Pig and sold at Tentworld, which will make simmering the spaghetti sauce a lot easier. However I, personally, had no problems with flame control, only the knob stripping from the spline being too fine for the plastic I believe. Coleman seem happy enough to replace the knob under warranty anyway.
Very poor controls. Either furnace level or just 'will burn the base of any food' level. High pitched whistling – Product seems robust and has never let me down. Seems heavier than more 'simple' style stoves of similar size which in my mind is a downside albeit a more minor one (every gram counts these days with weight). The two big issues I have are: 1) Like The Human Torch from The Fantastic Four, it's either Flame ON, or it's off. It's impossible to set at… Read more
a simmer. Reducing the flame takes art, practice and prayer because the control dial springs back a bit each time you turn it like there's some type of tension in there so it's difficult to make tiny adjustments. Even successfully reducing the flame it's still too hot to simmer or just heat something up. You need to stir the contents constantly without fail else it will burn on the base. 2) I think due to the 'feature' designs of Hyperflame, Wind Block and PerfectFlow, it often creates a high pitched, very loud whistle that you can only get rid of by trying to reduce the gas output to the burner. I've had this issue maybe a couple times in the past with previous stoves but this one does it about every other time. I get the whistle with pots, pans and kettles and have tested with friends cooking gear too to ensure it's not just my unlucky pot purchases.
Over priced and over rated by 4x4 mags – Heats up fast so good if boiling water.scream as it heats up on full bore with a pot on it.good in the wind.very difficult to get low/simmer setting with out blowing out.better than a $20- cartridge one but hard to justify the big price tag for another piece of Chinese crap.would not buy again unless about half the price.paid $180-
