Don't bother trying to get spare parts from Coleman – I don't have any complaints about the BBQ, however, I require a new regulator and found that China or USA were the only suppliers on line. Made 4 calls to Coleman, asked for Spare Parts, call transferred but never answered. Left phone number for call back via the switch. Never heard back. Cannot use the BBQ without the part so off to China. Not satisfactory Show details
Piezo failed after 4 uses - no spares: terrible – Puchased this junk in April 2020 fro Anaconda, Cairns. The piezo ignition failed in July 2020. Rang Coleman, advised to call Anaconda, rang Anaconda who rang Coleman, Anaconda called me back to say there are no spare parts, meaning 1 x Piezo starter, and I would have to take the barbecue back into the store for a refund. Meaning I would have to… Read more
totally disassember the barbecue, pack it up, take it down to Cairns and deliver it to the store for a refund of the money I paid. NO SPARES for an item purchased a few months ago.....disgraceful. Never again Coleman, your barbecues are simply junk and when somthing goes wrong with it, it is up to the customer to do all the hard work
perfect – I did a review a few years ago bagging the crap out of a 2 burner grill from bunnings and was amazed at how many people actually looked at the review. So I thought I'd balance that out with a positive review. I looked for ages for a small patio bbq and was amazed out how crap the heating power of Webers were given the hype. What a joke. They also… Read more
make you pay extra for a flat plate. Notice I didn't say hotplate. That would be an oxymoron. Their excuse is that somehow you are a moron for cooking with the lid up in the time honoured Aussie fashion. These days I am not surprised by the ability of some companies however to hoodwink the public into believing that the more you pay, you are getting a superior product through clever branding. Apple is another example. Anyway rant over, I got a Coleman Roadtrip Grill LXE. Heats great. Comes with both flat and grill plate. You can get extra grill and flat plates if wanting to increase to all flat plate or all grill, and you can also get a plate to put a pot on (very hand when the power goes out in a cyclone which happens alot in the fnq). Also the plates are both porcelain coated so no rusting plates. I don't go camping but this is great if you want a non rusting patio solution also. The burner has just rusted out after many years but I thought I'd have to throw the thing out but was surprised that you can get just about everything on this as a replacement part. Of course Colemans Australia don't offer it in their commitment to quality service but I usually buy direct from the US anyway to avoid the ridiculous markup Aussy wholesalers and retailers want to rape you with. So no, I don't support my local industry because they don't support me. So there you go. Make sure you get the LXE. Great bbq
Good – Would not be without it. Yes it has portability issues but none with the cooking and it is a beaut unit to use both with the big bottle and the cannisters. When new, take care and learn to deal with it's portability inperfections. After that it's all good. Lights First kick with the piezo fire starter every time. Cooks very nicely has excellent… Read more
heat control, your flame can actually be controlled lower than the low stop on the knob and is excellent for simmer. Has a stove accessory for cooking with pots. Does everything a full BBQ does with excellent heat control and quick. Reasonably easy to keep clean Heavy for a portable and awkward to roll about. Difficult to level, awkward legs and can be dangerous if you try to move it on uneven ground while cooking because the colapsable legs cannot be locked in and are easily dislodged. Lid has a lock that is next to useless and cooking plates can fall out while rolling it to and from the car in collapsed position
