it tastes like bread is crusty, which I like but I can't taste the sourdough or the rye maybe too many other ingredients bastardising the dough & it is too hard to make my own bread so I will keep trying other brands Show details

Extremely delicious bread. Great fresh and toasted. Perfect texture and and perfect amount of sour. Some sour dough’s are quite sour, not this one. Show details

Stoned Baked White Sourdough Vienna Every small slice was riddled with holes and so tough that it is inedible and with 2 days used by date. Absolutely discusting. Have tried to call the store , no answer - will be returning for a refund. Mornington Tyabb Road, Mornington, get a decent baker! When you chew it , it's like a grossness in your mouth .. discusting! Show details

"FINEST" ??????? Viennese people would look at this bread and be horrified it has the "Vienna" appellation. Bread produced in Europe is so vastly superior to the bread offered here in Australia by many bakeries, but there are some exclusive exceptions. The troubling aspect of this product is the ability to market it successfully in Australia;… Read more

successful because of most local consumers' IGNORANCE of how the correct product should look, taste and feel.... A Vienna loaf does not look, taste or have the mouth-feel of this product. The other troubling problem is the name; VIENNA LOAF and SOURDOUGH are, by definition of the recipe, MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE!!!!!!! Austrian (not Australian) bakers are shaking their heads!!!! What!!!!

*********FINALLY, please buy this bread and determine IF you think I am right or wrong, but you will need to travel to Europe and consume bread in order to make a meaningful comparison.*******

Where is the sourdough? looks, tastes and smell like plain white – False advertising as it can be. $7 for plain (decent) white bread. COLES again treating its customers as idiots and overcharging. As far as Laurent recipe, pull my other leg. And I am French by the way. Show details

Holey bread!! – Beautiful bread. Tastes wonderful BUT someone should tell the bakers to use best practice to ensure giant holes don’t appear in the loaves. I love this bread but 80% of the loaves I get have large air holes! Show details

Chewy – Rolls impossible to eat as it is so chewy. My jaw is still aching and my husband can't even cut through with a cerated knife. Definitely would not buy again. Show details

Disappointing product and service from Coles New Farm – This is my second loaf with huge holes in it. How am I meant to make sandwiches? I tried to take the first loaf back but was told by a Coles staff member that they wouldn’t refund my money because I could still eat the bread! Show details

Not “pure” sourdough bread – Misleading label. Bread is not leavened using pure sourdough. Yeast is listed as an ingredient unlike “real” sourdough which would only use the sourdough culture. Bread smells sourdoughy but the crumb gives it away. I don’t recommend this if you are after the real thing. Show details

Tasty but not sourdough! – Contains added yeast (among other additives), making this a fake sourdough. Show details

The flavour is good but too holey to use – I love sourdough stone baked bread and thought that I would try the Coles one (sliced). Unfortunately the bread is mostly holes so I am unable to toast it, eat it untoasted or put anything on it! The texture is chewy with a crisp crust and good flavour. Too bad I can't use it as expected.
