Replacement battery – The battery in our COMP825 has died and now I have been told by Companion (Primus) and numerous battery sellers that I cannot buy a replacement . It appears that it is regarded as a superseded model and is no longer supported. Can anyone help with a solution?

Waste of money – So many problems - either water was scalding hot (initially) or barely warm (now), pump stopped working, on button didn't do anything, expensive hose adapter cracked on first use, propriety fittings made it difficult to attach standard hose... After three years of trying to have a decent shower with this unit, three returns for repairs and dozens… Read more

of hours trying to get it to work, I'm binning it and never wasting money on a Companion product again.

Heap of junk – Purchased as gift for my husband. First time went to use found no button on shower head. It was at bottom of box. Heat fluctuates even though you set in heat setting. Dangerous if you have children as would burn them. Waste of money Show details

Worst product I have ever bought – Worst product. Stopped working after one day of camping. Companion refused to refund but agreed to fix it. Second camping trip it did not work at all. Companion refused to refund again and have taken it for further repairs. Do not buy this product. Companion's aftersales service is appalling and lacks customer focus. Show details

Design fault – Mine worked well for 12months but then the flow rate slowed to a point where the unit shut down to prevent overheating. The problem was the same as in another review - the water inlet to the solenoid was clogged. I was careful to ensure the water I used was clean. Due to the nature of this product I assume debris in the supply water would be a… Read more

common problem.

I don't believe Companion have allowed for this, even though the pump has a filter, debris still got through to the second filter which is located in the solenoid. The solenoid is relatively difficult to get to, so if the second filter was placed at an accessible position it could be cleaned regularly without having to dismantle the unit.

Used once then e4 error – Used once, brilliant. Next trip two weeks later set up (5 kuds) e4 no go went back to place I bought, 200k round trip, told I had to pay to send to them maybe upto 3 months. Man so annoyed. Not sure what I'm going to do, probably cut my lossess and just tell everyone are not made to be used, was bagged and everything. Very expensive toy. If you read this fix it for camping please.  Show details

Absolute piece of crap – Purchased this as a bit of indulgent luxury, and regretted it ever since. The first one I got never worked, the unit turned on only after pressing the on button about 20-30 times, and even then would turn off randomly. Returned to the manufacturer and was sent another one (cool). This one "worked" for a while, but despite following the… Read more

instructions about maintaining the battery, the battery failed after about 6 months, I didn't really care (given I had 12v at the 4WD anyway), so let that go.

Now to how the unit "works", when you see a product with a temperature knob and digital temp display, you would think that you had some ability to control the temperature of your shower, NO. The knob does basically nothing than control how long before the water gets so hot it burns you. There is NO control over the outlet temp, it just heats whatever comes in to plus about 25 degrees, so unless you have very cold water going in, you will get burned. This is absolutely stupid, how can you have such a product with no control over the outlet temp, it's a very basic thing to do.

So, in the knowledge that you need freezing water, I continued to use it for a few trips, then this second one stopped working. At this point I decided to put this down to experience, and never ever buy a Companion product ever again.

Battery did not work – I purchased the model with a battery, but it did not work. Because the battery did not work, I had to hook the shower up to my car battery instead. Other than that, I used it every day for a period of 2 months without any problems. If I were to procure another portable shower, I would build my own using more reliable household-grade components.  Show details

Aqua Cube Logic. Totally dissatisfied.Seeking full refund! – Purchased from Road Tech Marine Dec 2016. Operated first trip Xmas holidays worked OK. Second outing Easter pump failed. You need to add a super fine filter screen to the inlet – I've been using this hot water heater for about 3 years now. The first time I used this hot water system it stopped working. I was ready to throw it in the fire I was so frustrated. After pulling it apart I found a blockage in the solenoid that switches between the shower and tap. This cleaned out fine and the system was up and running again. … Read more

I cut a disk of super fine stainless steel mesh (Auto transmission filter) and put it on the inlet side of the pump. This screen partially blocks nearly every time I use it. Keep the screen clean and the unit functions faultlessly.

Do not buy it – We bought the unit from Anaconda. It worked perfectly on a 'test' trip for 2 days at double island before new years. The 2nd time we have tried to use it, it no longer works. The lights all work on the control panel when it is switched on, but pressing the start button does nothing except light up the shower/tap icon. It seems like there is no… Read more

power to the pump ? The battery is fully charged (and we have tried it with the power cable connected). The fuse is fine. There are no error codes. Guess we will have to find a dealer in Tassie ... Really irritating.

Not reliable – I used it on two camping trips ok, then it failed on our third trip (under one year) with a permanent E7 error and will not heat up at all. I works perfectly if you heat up water in a big pot on your camp stove and then use the pump for a shower :-). Other than that and in all seriousness, this is the worst camping investment I made.  Show details

Issue with solenoid mech – Hock pointed out there was a flow issue with the solenoids. Turn out there is a fine filter in there which becomes clogged very easy. Clean it out any you will have full flow. Or remove it. I'm unsure of the repocusions to the solenoids though. I'm yet to do a trial run  Show details

Junk – After having one for 12 months trying it out every trip and never worked properly. I decided to throw it out but before I did I stripped it down and there was the problem the flow diverter does not open correct making me think all that time the pump was no good which it stop heating a safety feature so now I'm off to buy something that primus or companion does not make.

Not a happy camper – I brought the Aqua Cube from Ray's about 18 months ago, have used it twice so far the battery goes flat after about three showers, it starts of cold and then heats up then it errors and goes cold again. All my family complain about it, I wish l had not brought it.

brilliant idea.. bad engineering/manufacturing – Like a number of others posting here, my first one included a number of faults already noted here. Pump incapable of any unpressured up lift into the unit, or push up beyond a couple of feet. The temperature was seriously all over the place to the point where there is scalding water one minute and little more than input water temperature when the… Read more

pump functioned enough to get enough water for a shower. The ignition system was highly unreliable.

BCF were brilliant. They swapped the unit for another one. It was a fail straight out of the box. A critical internal part was not connected and the unit faulted out. Sadly another unit on the shelves had an opened box and someone had helped themselves to parts from that one.

I gave up at that point. They gave my money back and given the amount of complaints they've had, just expect a high warranty return rate on these units...

If, they had proper engineering, manufacturing, quality control and field testing, these would have been a brilliant unit.

Great idea, but unreliable and touchy – I have had my AquaCube for 3 years now. First one leaked from new and was replaced. Second one seemed OK...atleast it worked. But it keeps shutting down due to one error or an other... too often. over temp then has to get cold before it turns back on. I am sure that if you get the gas and flow JUST right it will keep running, but it should not… Read more

be that fussy.

The best way to have a shower turns out to be to recycle the water until it gets to your favourite temp. then put the water into a bag with a shower head and hoist it up a tree. I hate having to get out half way thru a shower and reset the cube when it goes cold.

Lately the pump blew its end off, just sheared off the little screws inside. so no hot water. Back home and with a new pump, I noticed how little water was flowing thru the cube. I disconnected the water supply, left the power on (so the relays were open) and poked my air hose in the water inlet, and gave it a blast to clear the water in the unit..... I never did find what got blown out.... but after clearing both the shower output and the tap output... I now have my flow back and a working cube again.

Is it possible that stuff can grow in the pipes or heat exchange when not in use? and block the flow?

Any more problems and I will junk the cube and get a Joolca HOTTAP and 12v pump.

Aqua cube logic – What a fantastic little unit, bought the extension pole with it and it's awesome to use. Just make sure that the water going into the unit isn't too warm otherwise you will have the water coming out of the shower head too hot. To eliminate this problem you could put a bag of ice into the drum that you draw your water out of. It's the first thing I pack when going camping now. Love It.  Show reply

Hit and Miss – I brought one a week after a mate, both had dramas, his wouldn't heat up and mine wouldn't ignite, he took his back and got it replaced and the new one works fine, I persisted with mine thinking I was doing something wrong, decided to take it back this week, see how i go

Perfect camping hot water – I bought the Orange Version, 12 volt only, and changed the plug to an Anderson plug to use on the back of our Hiace camper. Who would want another battery to charge and maintain? We've all got whopping big batteries in our cars! I feed it with water from our van tank, after I swapped the hose connection. If the temperature isn't right, your FLOW… Read more

or TEMP setting is wrong. I have a switch in my shower tent to stop the pump when required, and the Cube stops heating upon losing water flow. Then switch water pump on and the cube starts. Make sure you have no air traps in the line, keep the water up to it, keep 12 volt on, and you will have no trouble. The manual tells you all this. By the way, Companion warn against fitting a gas cylinder, so that explains a lot of problems by the dummies who don't read the manual. Der.

Great idea but was a little disappointed – I purchased a Aquacube Logic with thinking that I would have this for many years to come as it seemed to be a great product. Much to my disappointment. I loved this product very efficient… Read more

and did a great job. I just thought it would have lasted longer than a few camping trips. Very disappointed customer.

Update: Product returned back to the manufacturer at their cost for the repair to be carried out. Returned back in full working order. Great customer service, no hassle with them doing the repair at not cost to the customer.

Avoid this product - go with another portable hws system on the market and small 12v battery – Brought this as a hot water source for shower cubicle in horse truck, thinking it was going to be fantastic as I didn't power. The first one they sent, the battery only last 5 minutes fully charged, so had to send it back to Supplier who tested it and agreed the unit was faulty, so they sent another one. This one has worked but agree with all… Read more

the other comments - water even on lowest heat setting can be boiling hot for shower temp to the point the unit turns off. Not great to have to jump in an out of show cubicle to reset or add more cold water. Found the small gas canisters help keep the heat down, running off LPG bottle bound to overheat and get error message. Battery still doesn't last too long, not ideal when this is only hot water supply for 2-3 days. Product is heavy to carry even in it's carry bag. Used mine max 8 times before enough was enough!

Have now brought portable hw unit which runs off 12v small pump (there's lots of models out there). It was cheaper than the aquacube logic even with the pump. I can control the water flow and heat level to adjust for winter/summer weather. Its super light and worked perfectly from the minute I set it up. Now I have to find someone who wants this $400 piece of rubbish for possibly just a '''bush'' shower....wish I had read these reviews before I bought it. very disappointed.

Nothing but trouble so far! – Bought the Companion Aquacube Logic 3 weeks ago from Anaconda. Added a separate hose to connect to larger gas bottle and also bought a separate adaptor to connect to a tap and the shower pole (yep - bought the lot!) Tried to use the unit for first time on Australia Day weekend with the following problems: 1. Gas flow control adjustment on… Read more

the front of the unit does not work. On the lowest setting the water heats up to 53 degrees (not 52), burns you, then turns off with error code 7.

2. The unit is very sensitive to shower height. If you connect it to the standup shower accessory and raise the shower to a reasonable height (I'm not tall), the unit cuts out - so unless you want to sit down and have a shower you don't get any hot water. I tested this with the supplied shower head at various heights - same result. Basically you can't hold the shower more than about 3 feet above the unit.

3. The unit will also cut out with some shower patterns, probably related to the height/pressure problem.

I'll be taking the unit back to Anaconda on the weekend for repair or replacement. Really disappointed, $400 outlay and 3 cold showers in a row. I could have had a cold shower for free!!

Bad – Shower head switch is hard to turn on/off. Impossibe to move with soapy fingers. Not hot enought to do dishes. Battery only lasted for two short showers.

Love it – We've had ours for over 6 months and had a fair bit of use over that time, especially camping with 5 kids. Hasn't failed us once. canisters though, I purchased a hose to connect to a gas cylinder.

We haven't used if for coffee though we've heard it's not hot enough for that.

The other benefits are that this unit comes with basically everything you need, 240 supply, 12v supply, carry case etc. These are optional extras with the other one I looked at.

We got it at a reasonable price thanks to an Anaconda website mistake. Works well, produces an awesome shower, no real optional extras. Hot water can be too hot for showers if dialled up too high!!!

Looks great but it didn't work – After purchasing an aqua cube recently I finally glot it home and fired it up. Unfortunately the show head was faulty ,so back it went. Anaconda replaced it straight away an back home we went. When I finally got it working I found that the temperature gauge doesn't work very well. My two young boy refuse to use it because it is to hot. The temperature doesn't go below 42 decrees. So back we go again??

It failed – We got one and a half showers out of it before it unfortunately failed and while it was working it would not hold it temperature. The temperature display is a great function, with having kids but even at a minimum temperature it would get to hot and cut out. We return it the moment we got back from camping. Didn't work and very expensive.
