Contempo Toaster

So slowwwww – While it toasts fairly evenly and the toast comes up hot it is so slow that I have to check regularly to see if it's still working. I sometimes wonder if the reason the toast is nice and crunchy is that it's gone stale in the toaster, and it has nothing to do with the heating elements, which hardly change colour as they heat up. I'm hoping it will die soon so I can buy something better and quicker.

One-side issue again - what has happened to toasters? – Having trouble finding a reasonably priced toaster that toasts evenly on both sides. This is no exception. Takes a long time to only partially toast bread. If turned up, incinerates one side while lightly browning the other. Was cheapish but no better or worse than more expensive toasters tried.

Fantastic – Went to Big W yesterday for a toaster and came away with their Home Brand Contempo Four Slice Stainless Steel. has more power than a V8. 1750-2100W. Mate that's cooking power. I was all set to spend $150 or so but saw this and thought well I can bring it back if its a dog. Its mechanism is smooth and everything functions as it should. I'm still pinching myself.

It toasts my bread, as expected – This is pretty straight forward toaster. It toasts relatively evenly and consistently. Can’t fault it on its toasting abilities. Isn’t the most stylish even with the stainless steel look. The ‘pop’ is a bit soft so it’s difficult to hear when your toast is done. Relatively cheap no frills toaster.

2 slice stainless steel toaster- pretty good – I’ve had this toaster for about 18months. It toasts fairly evenly on both sides, but I’ve had other toasters before (breville & sunbeam) and they never toasted perfectly even either, so for $25 I’m pretty happy esp that it still works

This toaster actually toasts your bread – After trying many different brands, which were not cheap, I found this $25 toaster in Big W. It actually works like it should. The bread gets toasted on BOTH sides. Joy , joy. Never heard of Contempo before and thought it to cheap to be any good. I love it.

Works fairly well – I bought this cheap $25, 2 slice toaster from BIGW to replace a different brands piece of excrement masquerading as a toaster that i paid $50 for. This Contempo toaster toasts fairly evenly on both sides and you can clearly see that the elements are fairly evenly lit up. Works on muffins and crumpets. It looks and feels like a cheap toaster but i don't care about that i just want it to work as a toaster, it has a 2 year warranty.

Perfect toast – This toaster is only new but we have found it to toast fairly evenly and crispy. Three controls work well. Excellent value for money. Works just as well if not better than our previous expensive toaster.

Disappointed – Lasted 3 months and died. while It worked... was a battle not to burn the toast. Crumbs all over the place. waste of money Contempo never again. Third Contempo product to fail.

Good Price and Works Great – Contempo 2 Slice Stainless steel wide slot toaster T386 can toast bread slits of any. I got it from BigW and it is reasonably price. Easy to clean and perfect toast every time

Overall, a good choice for a limited budget at $25.00.

Great toaster, great price – Super happy with this toaster.. bought the 4 slice one. It does the job and looks very stylish and I think it looks like it cost more than it does. I do tend to only use it on a very low setting (like #2 on the dial) as any higher and it tends to burn the toast.

Selective Popup Contempo Toaster T386 - but it is good at tripping the switch board – Interesting mine pops up sometimes but worse still tried to cook raisin toast and blew the fuse. This has happened 3 times, first 2 times I did not put 2 + 2 together (now the toaster is an ornament and looking for a new one).

Bang for Buck – I have had the brushed stainless, 2 slice version now for a couple of months & very happy with it for the price ($20). Does what a toaster needs to do, toasts even enough for me, looks good & has a few features like reheat, defrost etc, although I haven't used these. I've toasted various sized & thickness sourdough breads without issue. Not sure what else you require from a toaster!?!?

Contempo H648-M 4 slot toaster red stainless steel – Wanted a toaster that toast evenly on both sides. This one does not- even on level 3- one side burnt and the other only just toasted. Turned down to 2.5- then one side not toasted at all and the other only just brown. Why is it so hard to make a toaster that works. Tried another slot that burnt half the bread on one side, and not toast on other side?? Back the the shop you will go.

Cooks my crumpets perfectly – This affordable toaster looks fancy with it's red exterior, but also does it's job of toasting, perfectly. My crumpets no longer come out with Burt edges, and toast is golden brown. This 4 slice toaster, allows for different settings in each of the 2 separate toast compartments.
