Very good tires – Came as an OEM on my wife's suzuki vitara. They lasted around 40,000kms but even when nearly completely worn they still handled well. Although a bit on the noisy side, they were good in the dry and wet. Suzuki vitara is a light small SUV and was driven primarily in the city (stop and go traffic). The tires were never pushed or tested to the limit… Read more

so I am assuming they will definitely give less than 40k kms if that is the case. Having said that I was very happy with them and the brand in general so I purchased the ContiMAX contact. I will review those separately once I have done a few thousand kms on them.

I suspect Continental are outsourcing their manufacturing – I purchased these tyres after I had an extremely good experience some years back with my old Jeep about 12 years ago. They were brilliant; smooth ride, great wet handling and the best surprise ever is that I got almost 50k kms out of them. So after Jax tyres fitted them (and in the process lost one of my wheel nuts) I found to my disgust that… Read more

these tyres had gone from my highest rating to me lowest. The trip home from the fitment was quite alarming due the front end wandering over the road which was made even more interesting due to high speed. Which brings me to the thing that really got under my goat......THE NOISE. These tyres would be the noisiest I have ever experienced. Extremely hard and very cheap and unforgiving compound has made it impossible to enjoy the ride. Phone conversations and listening to music is a constant struggle and is dependant on the road surface at the time. 3k sound system is no longer enjoyable due to the contact noise. After studying the manufacturing data from Continental, is would seem that although they are quite happy to tell you that they are a celebrated reputable German quality, they don't let on that they are mass produced in China. The quality of these tyres so far has not impressed me. All that is left now is the longevity test, which I am dreading as I do not wish to have a tyre which has the potential of 50,000 km at this level of noise.

Had them on on a race track in dry weather – I drove on Continental ContiEcoContact 5 tyres on a very twisty racing circuit in my stock car (a stock Dacia with 115hp), ya there weren't much horsepower but I can tell you, on dry tarmac these tyres had very good grip ! Not to mention they were 8 years old when I did it ! Show details

Good Tyres, grip well and quiet – Replaced 2 tyres on the Mini, these are nice and quiet and grip well especially for cornering on the Mini. Going by the previous set I had these should also last a very long time Show details

Great Tyes for a Family Car That Goes Everywhere! – I've used Continental tyre for years on my pushbike, and noticed the durability, increased grip and lack of punctures compared to synthetic options. We now have them on our car and find them durable, not noisy, great in he wet and we find hem to work in harmony with our brakes and stability controls. We have done around 30,000kms in amid sized vehicle on them and will rebuy the same tyres when replacement is needed.  Show details

Continental tyres – I've had continental tyres on my cars for years & have found that they are great in all types of weather. I don't know what the guy who's calling them rubbish is on, but he's full of it. I would recommend continental to anyone. Why else would Mercedes have them standard.  Show details

Do not buy Continental tyres – Remember the story "Emperor's New Clothes" - everyone saying something because everyone else does as well? I had to learn hard way that Continental tyres are exactly this - overhyped garbage: I ordered ContiPremium contact 5 online because it was voted best tyre by several magazines. When they arrived I was tired and was in terrible hurry, my… Read more

friend picked them up; and I was exhausted after 1400 km of continuous driving, didn't look at the tyres, so I just drove to shop and had them changed. Next time on fuel station, I actually realized that I am driving on ContiECO contact instead. It was too late to change them, since I burned a full tank already. And this is what I can say after 3600 km on them - they suck!

1) I was driving trough warm April on Nokian WR D3,(winter tyre) once with 1600 kg and a passenger in the car and fuel consumption was less than with this eco garbage when empty (difference of 1.2 litres on 100 km) - so much about this garbage tyre being eco! I have never heard of summer tyre wasting more fuel during summer than winter tyre. Outrageous!!!

2) They wander when I am driving, and loose corners. I wasn't sure what is going on so I took car to the shop to check wheel geometry, guy there showed me results - car was OK 100% but said I am not first with these tyres to come with same problem.

3) they are by far loudest tyres I ever had, including situations when I had to drive with winter tyres trough simmer. Awful!!!

4) They give poor feedback and so far they perform far worse in rain than totally worn out Pirelli Cinturato I had on my car before.

5) overall bad performance and horrible unsafe feeling I have when I drive them.

If I were single and didn't have a wife that would nag me crazy for doing it, I'd take them down and burned them hatefully in my back yard. Now I hope to sell them on classifieds and buy something else. I will never again buy anything Continental makes because this for me is proof that they buy their tweak titles (read:bribe) for published results. No other explanation.

We have 3 cars in family and theese are tyres on them:(summer/winter)(rate/rate)

Lancia Delta Nuova - Michelin/BFGoodrich - 5/5

Citroen C1 -Toyo/Yokohama - 4.5/4.6

Fiat Croma - Continental/Nokian - -2/5 ( yes, two points below zero)

I make 60-70 000 km a year, and I was till recently a president of a vintage car club (120 members) - so I know what I am talking about.

Do not buy continental tyres! They are just overhyped marketed garbage. I should listen everyone who was telling me not to buy them.

I throw ashes on myself now, feel ashamed and stupid and admit my error, and will post this on so many places as I can!!!

I do not promote any other brand or work for any shop or seller connected to car parts.

The lie that they are good.
