Absolute garbage – Has not worked properly since brought home. Told by Seeley that I either have to get it to a service agent or pay the service agent a call out fee to come and get it and then a delivery fee once it is fixed. Worst piece of junk I have ever seen and their customer service is shocking!!! Stay away from Convair!!!  Show details

Brilliant Little Unit – I was forced to change from a window unit to portable because I live Inner-City with the house on the fence line and my window unit intruded on a newly built driveway. I wasn't expecting much after having to swap from a great window unit. Wrong! This unit is working beyond it's intended area limits yet managed to keep me cool in Brisbane's 40… Read more

degree days last summer. I had developed an extremely sensitive to heat skin condition and this has been an absolute lifesaver.

Easy to set up, plenty of air filters to keep air clean and thermostat controlled temperature settings. The only complaint I have is that they are quite noisy compared to window units - to be expected I guess when the compressor has to be in the room. I actually solved this reasonably well by building a 'box' around it with an open back for air flow and plenty of room around the sides so it doesn't overheat. Not much more work involved than mounting an outside window unit and the reduction in noise is amazing with no obvious reduction in efficiency.

I've been in homes with other portable brands and I can honestly say the Convair easily outperforms similar sized units from other manufacturers (not that I've experienced all its' competitors) and I'd readily buy one again.

In all honesty, given the choice between portable or window mounted (as the prices are similar), I'd go window every time if it was possible. If though, like me, a window unit isn't possible for whatever reason, this will definitely keep you cool in smaller to medium rooms and there are solutions to the noise problem - which for me was a big issue as it's in my TV room.

I bought mine 2nd hand as I wanted to try them first and it's been thoroughly incident free and has made summers bearable again. I definitely recommend these units.

Unfortunately, as it's past its' warranty time, I don't have the receipt any longer but I'm not a serial reviewer, I only felt inclined in this case as I was pleasantly surprised at how pleased I was considering I wasn't expecting much.

Very happy – It's been a very hot summer. I had the for knowledge to by a convair portable aircon. It's made the heat waves bearable. All can say thank you convair.I would recommend a portable convair air conditioning unit, to anyone renting.my neighbors have suffered. And I've been cool as. It's so easy to install and maintenance, is a matter opening a small drain at the rear of the United.  Show details

Trouble free for many years – I have had two Convair portable Air conditioners for four or five years. They have been life saving even here in the South West over that time. As I don,t own my own home it has allowed me to have som air conditioning without adding expensively to someone elses property. It just gets packed up with everything else and comes along.

Pint sized cooling – Great little unit, does well even in this very hot climate.. current cooling all residents, not difficult to vent with casement windows and drainage for de-humidifier is good. Size, initial cost, well suited to my place.. Minor accessories to help with vent duct , lack or drainage information..
