Planned obsolescence. Brittle plastic and terrible battery. Total junk – I bought these a few months ago. I haven't even had them for a year. They are total junk. Just putting the headphones on this morning and the headphone arm snapped. I pulled off the rubber coating and found that the arms aren't made of the robust plastic you would think for something like this, they are made of cheap brittle junk plastic. The wire… Read more
for the headphone is also just laid in a channel, no protection whatsoever. Plus, the 'waterproofing' where the cable hits the cheap nasty plastic looks like a dab of glue.
Have a look at these images. The headphone piece is connected with a tiny tab of metal, that will easily break the brittle plastic housing. Especially since these are meant to be malleable, as you have to twist them into position to make the bone conducting speakers rest against your head.
Plus, the battery life is appalling. I have been using them for a few months and already there is a seriously obvious battery life problem. It is around 2/3 to 1/2 the life they were when I bought them.
Design this bad can only be planned obsolescence. They are hoping these will break a few months after the warranty expires. Mine only broke this early because I use them a lot. Most people would have them break shortly after warranty.
DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES. There are heaps of other good headphones available at this premium price point. Any of them would be better. The $30 budget no name brand would be equivalent to these.
