Excellent electric bbq, so intuitive, user friendly and cooks a better steak than a gas bbq. This is part of our full electrification journey. Number one benefit, it doesn't blow up like gas and it feeds off my solar!!!! Show details · 1
I love the fact you just plug in and go! Show details · 1
We recently moved to an apartment and this is the best BBQ for us, all electric. I love the fast heat up time and the steaks cook evenly. Show reply

I have been a Family Q user for many years , at a recent Good Food & Wine show in Melbourne saw the Extreme in Action, as we had planned a move from Melb to the Country 35 ks away finally took delivery 2 days ago, put the trolley together put the BBq in no problems all of the items come really well packed an protected. country the local butcher is well is so good tried a basic snags (well local 100% beef) .one night cooked on the Q good result taste and all well, the following night the Extreme Taste fantastic it just seems to give a more even Cook. Tonight a Chook on the rotisserie . I am so impressed with the result an quality of built, the clean up was easy no more little flimsy trays that can burn thru but a solid metal collection tray that is easy to remove an wash. The only thing I would change is bigger wheels on the trolley as moving over paving a bit of a struggle, however in whole overview its a minor thing. I see on the web site items i will be going to get, the wireless heat probe , the smoker and the flat grill plate.
We live in a town which has no gas only bottled at $39 change over having a Electric Option is great as we will be on Solar as well. Electric BBQS in the past promoted "Smokeless cooking: reason they never got hot enough With theExtreme it gets Hot really quickly an we are going to cook a small Turkey at xmas, I will report more as time goes by
Having recently relocated from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast, we were particularly interested in an electric outdoor kitchen for our new home and, following our visit to the 2025 Brisbane Home Show, we met with Eric and his Team from Crossray and were enthralled with the performance, functionality and appearance of the eXtreme Electric Outdoor… Read more · 1
Kitchen. We have had our Crossray now for two months and, from delicate seafood to large steaks and chargrilled vegetables, this electric barbeque is nothing short of amazing and flavoursome! We cannot speak highly enough of this impressive and outstanding outdoor kitchen!
After recieving the BBQ with a dent in the rear panel found when unpacking, after contacting Crosswray they organised delivery of a replacement BBQ, excellent customer service. The BBQ itself heats well and i use for both grilling and roasting, I found the drip tray a good size and the gill plates easy to clean. It is also easy to move the BBQ if needed. Glad i found Crosswray and gone electric! Show details · 1
We are extremely happy with our Crossway Infrared BBQ. It is super convenient and cooks beautifully. There is a slight issue when opening the lid as it looses heat quickly and does not recover to the original heat setting as quickly. That aside there is no way we would go back to the old gas (LPG) BBQ. The BBQ is also very easily cleaned, which is a blessing. great pooduct. Bill Show details · 1
Great BBQ run from solar with no more gas anxiety – Very happy with the performance of this electric BBQ, cooks faster than the old gas BBQ with no flare ups and less mess. The castors supplied with the trolley are useless (except for a dead smooth surface). I repurposed some jarrah from the old one and added new 75 mm castors positioned a bit wider than the trolley cabinet. Show details · 1
Good for an electric BBQ, but with some trade-offs – It heats up well, the digital panel is fairly intuitive and easy to use. The convenience of an electric bbq is fantastic - just plug it into a regular power outlet and it just works! No more gas bottles! Cons: While it heats up well, it tends to lose heat quite quickly when the lid is opened and does not recover the heat when the lid is kept open… Read more
or is opened regularly. This means that you get an amazing sizzle the first time you put a steak on after pre-heating, but when you turn the steak on the same spot after a few mins, it doesn’t sizzle anymore because the plate is no longer at temp. This means the bbq is great for roasts or anything where the lid can be kept closed most of the time, but not so great for items that need to be ‘managed’ often like chicken giblets or a whole grill full of sausages. Its less of an issue if you are only cooking on one half of the grill as flipping onto the unused part of the grill still works, but this means you can really only cook for 1 or 2 families. I’ve really felt the impact of this coming from a large gas bbq where I can use the whole grill to this one 2/3rd that size where I can only effectively use half, so 1/3rd of the gas bbq’s grill space. I've tried to use the integrated temperature probe a few times, but have not managed to work it in an effective way and have just reverted back to using a regular probe. Also worth noting that the door of the BBQ cabinet did not close properly and Crossray have needed to ship me another one. In addition the top of the BBQ obstructs the doors of the cabinet. Crossray have said this was something overlooked in the design and they are producing a different top of the BBQ cabinet which will address this. They assured me I would have it by the end of June, but as of time of writing this review at the end of July I have not received it yet.
