Fire Risk Warning - Stay Clear of Cub Cadet – This NEW Cub Cadet caught fire in the middle of a National Park. There was no insulation covers over the starter Solenoid and the terminals sit proud of the body. A spammer feel across the terminals and shorted out the battery, the whole mower caught fire. On inspection the wiring cables are of such poor quality shows how cheaply these are built. No Cub Cadet has insulated covers, even Huskies have covers. These are poor quality equipment stay well clear - you are warned.
Purchased in for $10,000.

Cub Cadet Z-Force – Cutting deck and fittings continually broke down. Spindles failed and had to replace. Found grease nipples on original spindles had fallen out allowing water to penetrate. Replacements were sealed units. Pulleys failed, both bearings and pulleys. Deck developed stress cracks in metal (too thin). Parts expensive. Rest of machine OK, only deck is rubish. Pity they did not build stronger deck and use quality fittings then would be OK. Changed over to a Scag which is far superior.
Cutting deck is not strong eneough. Operating parts low quality and expensive
