So faulty they gave me my money back – Purchased the kettle 12 months ago and have been struggling with it for about 4 weeks. It wouldn’t start unless l jiggled it and various other actions to get it to go. Contacted them and they told me it had been discontinued and pulled from the market - though l still saw them for sale when looking for a replacement - it worked very well for a… Read more

Disappointing purchases – The Cuisinart kettle is a complete waste of money. We have purchased 2 of them and in each case the kettle after a short does not operate. The temperature selection control starts by not functioning and then it totally stops working. Look at other products. Show details

Doesn't boil without wiggling the base – I bought this kettle looking for something reliable with multiple temperature options. It worked well for about 2 months before it started being temperamental and requiring me to wiggle it on the base before it started boiling, or turning off and on or turning off, lifting from the base and restarting to do something as basic as boiling water. I cannot recommend this product to anyone, and will never buy this brand again. Show details

Old friend 6yrs dependable – I absolutely love this kettle! ("you know you're getting old when" right!?! ) I have had it for 6yrs and until today has never missed a beat! Had this for 9 years, still going strong – Reading below reviews I’m a bit surprised as we have had this kettle for 9years since my first apartment living with just me and my partner to now a big house with 2 kids. We use this multiple times a day and it has never missed a beat. Great for tea drinkers with temp settings.. esp green tea and matcha! Show details

Best kettle ever! – We have had this kettle now for about 4 years, and it has worked fantastically. Great temperature control for a wide range of temperatures below 100 deg C plus stay warm feature. No taste and like new even after all these years. Very well made and highly recommended.

Really happy with this kettle!! – I looked at the product reviews before I chose this kettle and bought it 5 weeks ago and so far have not been disappointed!! It lives up to its reviews and my expectations!! I like the fact I can see the water boiling and it’s easy to see water level . It takes around 3 ni s to boil water. The outside of kettle dies get very hot as it’s bouling.  Show details

Worked for ONE DAY ONLY! Should be recalled for SAFETY REASONS – I loved the idea of the kettle for herbal teas, etc. I even purchased one as a gift for someone else. Worked for the first day. Woke up the next morning and the kettle had too many issues. The water would cut out at the wrong temperature. It wouldnt allow you to program it. Then it wouldnt work for 15 mins. boot, etc and nothing worked. We have given up and now need to buy a new kettle. We received a replacement from Peters of Kensington only to learn about the dangers of this kettle. It should be recalled for safety reasons. DANGER WARNING: Be careful there is a "keep warm" function and if you dont intentionally turn it off, it can suddenly start to boil. I had the worst burned arm experience of my life, as I reached over the kettle one day and it suddenly started to boil - and the boiled steam burned the inside wrists of my arm. I spent 24 hrs putting burns creams, and taking pain killers for a few days (something I rarely if at all do) and my arm was bandaged and took weeks to finally be bearable. Update 2025 -- 3 years later now and the scars have thankfully faded. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I contacted the special person we gifted this kettle as they have young children, and told them to throw it away as it is too much of a danger.

Perfect until it fails – I originally bought this kettle from CostCo about 4 years ago and loved everything about it; it's build quality, the water display window, the temperature selection control, the look etc. However, it didn't last very long, it literally died and shorted out the power supply to our house within 10 months. There wasn't any warning or indication that… Read more

it was failing, it just failed. It definiately took me by surprise because I look after all of our appliances and I regularly descaled the kettle and it never suffered any abuse. I contacted Cuisinart warranty support, who were wonderful, and they quickly sent me out a replacement kettle. I figured that was going to be an isolated incident and I would get many more years out of the new kettle. I was wrong.

Since the first kettle, I have had 3 replacements, all of which have died. They have all been within warranty period and Cuisinart have provided fantastic customer service. I wish I could speak more highly of the appliance itself because I can't fault the customer service team.

I've decided that I can't continue on this course and am going to have to find another kettle with similar features but a different brand. It's disappointing because, as far as kettles are concerned, it's everything we wanted (when it worked). I'm surprised at how unlucky I have been with this product but obviously I'm not the only one.

Love it but doesn't work really well – I love this kettle, I drink green tea and I can't drink it too hot. Having the choice in the temperature is so good. It worked well for 2 years then started to be temperamental. Now I have to push the button maybe 15 times before it works. Disappointed because for $200 you expect it to work longer. I still have my $20 kettle from 10 years ago. I… Read more

Great when it works, but it doesn't last long – Purchased in March 2020 - started acting up intermittently in March 2021. When it works, its' great - I love the ability to set different temps for different teas, but it develops a strange phenomenon, which becomes more and more common, where it just flashes and will not turn on. Disappointing and I'll try to seek a refund.  Show details

Even the replacement developed faults – I bought this kettle because I love the different temperature options for different teas and in that respect it has been wonderful. But otherwise it’s been exceedingly disappointing for what I thought was a reputable brand appliance and for the amount of money spent on it. ended up failing in an epic and dangerous manner when it ended up developing a massive leak after I’d placed it on the electrical base.

I had a relatively uncomplicated experience claiming on the warranty despite not having the receipt because the manufacturing stamp on the bottom showed it was made within the warranty date.

The replacement kettle I received mid 2019 has been acting up for the last couple of months now (less than 2 years again) where the start button won’t work 4/5 times when I press it and getting worse.

It’s also dangerously hot to the touch when it’s been used.

I’ve contacted them again but am reluctant to receive another replacement considering the experiences we’ve had with this product.

Poor build quality. Stay away – First of all let me begin by stating we are a household of just 2. Secondly I treat my appliances with the utmost care. So when my trusted Sunbeam kettle of 7yrs finally laid itself to rest. We decided to splurge a bit and bought this kettle from Victorias Basement 18 months ago. And it cost a fair bit. hands. First the temp buttons stopped working all bar one the 80deg. So we made do with that. Next the open button that opens the lid stopped working so we had to resort to filling the kettle via the spout. The last straw was today whilst boiling the kettle the top half of the cover detached and dropped off leaving the bottom half of the lid exposed. Exposing a dirty & rusted lid. So my advice to all is avoid the Cuisinart kettle. Any of them as it looks like they have a very poor build quality.

Disappointing – Operated very well for about 6 months and then would only work intermittently. Would fail to heat about 30% of the time. Cusinart NZ were most unfriendly. Tested it and told me it was working. But there was no change in performance. They would not honour the warranty. It progressively got worse.. Fourth One Failed after Eight Months – I really like the design and functionality of this kettle, so I have persisted for a couple of years now. But I am finally giving up. was sent another replacement. Then that one failed! I decided not to try claim a replacement under warranty, yet again. I was starting to feel like I was the problem.

After using my old backup kettle for a while (and getting annoyed that it didn't have temperature features), I decided to put a voucher I had towards another Perfectemp kettle. Yes, I know. After three times bitten, you would think that I would be very shy. But I figured that I had only paid for one of the previous three, so I would try again. Late December 2019, I received my fourth kettle. And now it has died too.

I am really starting to think that this is by design. In the past, printer manufacturers have been known to make their products fail *on purpose* after printing a certain number of times. This is possible with electronics - deliberately self-sabotaging appliances that cannot be repaired and have to be replaced. I wonder if Dept of Fair Trading can test for this?

purchase. I read all the reviews and watched all the product videos I could prior to purchasing this particular model of Kettle. After all the product 'hype' I expected that it would last longer than this. Will not be purchasing another Cuisinart appliance. This is the worst kettle of any that I have ever purchased. Even less expensive kettles that I have previously purchased - have lasted longer than this. Took ages to heat the water too. Will not be wasting my money on another Cuisinart appliance. Did not even make it through the warranty period. Cost me $157.00. Invoice is attached. I would not recommend this product to anybody. Should last longer than a month.

quietly confident this one would go the distance after many initial positive reviews. Unfortunately it seems not to be the case. Over the years we’ve had expensive kettles go faulty within a couple of years so Cuisinart is not alone here. My advice is to avoid bell’s and whistles kettles, such as the programmable ones. Too many things to go wrong with them and they’re not worth it. The replacement is a cheapie from Kmart. Want to bet it lasts longer than all my fancy kettles put together?

Great...until it dies! – I love these Cuisinart kettles, but I won't buy another one. I've had two now and both just suddenly died. They just stopped heating. bought another (with the assistance of a credit voucher from Appliances Online). However, this second one lasted only fourteen months, then also completely died. It's been six weeks since I reported this to Appliances Online and so far nothing's been done, so I can't comment on Customer Service because I don't know yet whether the fault lies with Appliances Online or Cuisinart (supposedly Cuisinart needs to come and check the kettle before they can do anything about replacing it). I can't recommend these kettles at all, especially at their usual pricing.

Very disappointed – We have had this kettle for 10 months and been very disappointed in our purchase. gets very steamed up. The keep warm function keeps turning itself on even when we turn it off so as soon as you sit down with your cuppa you have to jump up again to switch the "keep warm" button off as the kettle has decided to reboil.

But the main complaint is that after 10 months it has died and Cuisinart have ignored repeated attempts to contact them.

So we are regretting buying this expensive kettle and not just buying another $50 kettle from Big W.

Overall very disappointed in this – This kettle is definitely not worth the price Cuisinart sells it for. some serious faulty issues. Cuisinart should definitely listen to what is happening with the very unhappy consumers buying this particular product of theirs! Alas it doesn't appear to be the case because this kettle still continues to have problems. My kettle's lettering disappeared before the one year of owning it was up. A definite manufacturing flaw to begin with. What was that all about? We never did get any satisfactory explanation regarding this matter! The kettle was replaced after a bit of negotiating with Cusinart's customer service department. The outside does get extremely hot which was specified by Cuisinart. Consumers should be very watchful of this because one can seriously get burned! I found it hard to take out the filter to clean it. To my mind it is in a cumbersome position. SO, given this kettle is not even three years old in spite of some of the other problems with it, it came to quite a surprise to me/us when just like that it stopped working yesterday. No warning, poof...........Dead! We paid over $100.00 Canadian dollars for this kettle and one would certainly think it would last for much much longer than that!! So, unfortunately for me, I am now on a quest for a new electric kettle. Hope I have better luck next time! Thanks for reading!

This kettle cost $129, so I would expect trouble free performance for at least 20 years, given our previous stainless steel cordless kettle cost only $30 and lasted for 15 years.

I contacted Cuisinart Australia, via email, and they didn't even bother to respond.

Its one and a half months short of being 3 years old and it has died. It still lights up an beeps, but the element doesn't heat up. $129 for a kettle that doesn't even last 3 years, premium price for a piece of junk. I have replaced it with a $20 stainless steel kettle from Kmart, and if it doesn't last 10 years I'll be shocked.

I finally got around to dismantling the kettle, to see if it was reparable. After removing the cover from the underside of the kettle the evidence was clear, the element had blown, it had literally blown through the metal encapsulation. As the element is encapsulated to the base of the kettle it is not replaceable. I'm just glad it didn't catch on fire when it blew.

Great kettle, but sadly, very unreliable – There is a lot to like about this kettle — the automatic function, with six different heat levels, and especially the keep warm function, are great favorites in our family. of determining the water level, speed of heating and temperature of the outside surface are all beyond reproach — excellent. However (sadly because we otherwise love the kettle) we have had three and they have all broken — they have simply ceased boiling water.

All three have come from Urbane Sauvage in the Tuggeranong Hyperdome in Canberra, who have replaced them without question (they are great). However after three failures, it seems there is a design fault, and we won’t be replacing this one. We’ll try to find a more reliable brand. We do have other Cuisinart appliances, and have never had a problem. The date purchased is the date of the most recent replacement.

Looking at other reviews reminds me that we also had (on our second kettle) a broken lid — it didn’t stop us from using it and was really only a minor irritant. The text on the buttons wore off on our first kettle.

kettles on the market seem to have similar issues. All the writing wore off the buttons pretty quickly too.
