So quiet! – After much research, I purchased this food processor online in April 2018 (not sure why it says it's discontinued, but they're out there!). There are three nested bowls, and the one lid. I purchased this food processor to replace two existing food processors: my old Cuisinart which I'd brought with me from the States, as I broke the bowl after 15… Read more
years and thought now was a good time to upgrade; and my little Oskar (which you can't buy any more but I used to DEATH lol). It took a little bit of education to work out how all the bits and bobs worked, but now that I've got the hang of it, it's a dream to use. No more "my bowl's too big/small", and with very little planning, I can do multiple jobs for one meal thanks to the multiple bowls.
My only complaint is I miss my old "two lid" solution from my old full sized food processor. This one only appears to offer the lid with the feeder chute attached, which is quite bulky. It also has a whole "liquid seal" function, which works really well for me so far! (a particular complaint of my old processor) But means that when processing doughs and crumbs, things get caught in the rubber seal due to the design to accommodate three different sized bowls I guess, and are particularly nusiancy in the nooks and crannies around the feeder chute. There is a tool provided to help get the pieces out, but it just doesn't work in those nooks and crannies around the chute, and although they clean up well in the dishwasher so far, I'd have much preferred the option of purchasing a flat lid as I had with my old one. Small issue though.
Finally, I absolutely cannot get over how quiet this thing is. My home has a "great room" design, meaning the kitchen, living and dining room are all in the same space. Once upon a time I'd have to pause any TV watching while I did my processing work, but that is no longer an issue. You just wouldn't credit how quiet this is.
So far, pretty happy and hoping I'll get to enjoy it for many years to come:).
My favourite kitchen appliance – I bought this machine online many years ago and would you believe I lost the receipt- I keep every receipt for centuries and this one I lose. After making dozens of batches of hommus, nut butter, soup, mayo, cakes, you name it I make it and often put all of the washable pieces in the top rack of the dishwasher. One fateful evening my partner… Read more
washed the lid and broke it. Without a receipt I thought I was done for. I used duct tape and found someone to ask (via Facebook). Not only was the replacement part sent to me, but I was not charged. Another year passed and something broke, also replaced, no worries at all. I will never buy another brand again. When this precious machine finally goes to kitchen heaven I will get the same again thank you :) and I have no idea when I bought it so it's purely a guess here - without I receipt I can't honestly say!
Poor customer service – Has been working OK for the first few months now the large bowl has a crack in it and won't lock in so the machine won't start. Contacted Cusinart via their online contact us email and no reply after many days. Still under warranty. Very poor customer service which I can see is echoed in other posts.
Nice when it works – Dead after 2 years of normal shredding, mixing, cutting usage. My cheap $50 bucks one worked for 6 years and this $500 one died after just two. Now all the fun with warrany starts. Pros: Quieter than the cheap one, better made (except for plastic bowls all around) Cons: Dead, heavy, hard to clean the top bowl due to its finicky design
Shredding/slicing shock, horror! – I can't believe such a pricey appliance can't shred or slice properly. It lets big pieces fly into the bowl. I have to take off the lid and remove the left-over pieces before they fly into the main bowl and also take out the shredder or slicer to retrieve the pieces out from amongst the slices or shreds that did make it through. It happens each… Read more
and every time it gets close to the end of the piece I've put in. Not fun! And not time saving! Really disappointed because I like everything else...and so now I'm trying to get my money back from David Jones.
Oh yeah and when I tried to make pizza dough which is soft, the dough blade got stuck and cooked the dough!
I didn't use the machine for other than basic mixing or nut butters for a good year because I was too busy, so you can imagine my shock that it didn't even do what is basic in any food processor. Shredding ingredients for muffins! Back to more research for a good food processor! good at making nut butters and mixing Shredding operation, slicing operation, dough blade operation!
Spare parts??? – I loved my 14 cup Cuisinart, it was something I had always promised to buy for myself, and I did. However, I broke the main bowl last week and have still had no luck finding anyone with replacement parts. The Cuisinart web site lists parts and invites queries, but no sale. Can't seem to find anyone who sells these parts - after spending almost… Read more
$600 on it, I can't use it again 'til I find and get the part. Grrrrr I would have rated it far more highly before this happened. Fast, big, simple. No spare parts in aus it seems
Best purchase ever:) – Love my Cuisinart food processor. Haven't had it long, but am amazed how well it performs and how quiet it is when working. Very impressed, can't wait to try a few more recipes. Really heavy base which makes it less easy to move but that's a plus when using it. Really quiet & really efficient. Good value.
Cuisinart FP-14DCA – Very high quality components, simple controls, easily assembled, leak proof, convenient design, training dvd, handles nuts & liquids with equal ability, easy to clean, quality product, best price in this class of product. I have been looking for a processor for a while as the Braun we had finally fell apart & no parts replacement available, we… Read more
were set on getting a Magimix but read a review site that recommended 3 brands this was one of them. Bought it on a whim when I saw the great price & am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the product it feels robust, well thought out, looks like it will provide a lot of convenience & usefulness. quality expensive
Great machine. Great quality – I was hesitant to spend the money on this machine but the warranty on the motor won me over. I have used this many times and have been impressed every time I get it out of the cupboard. It chops easily, mixes and purees food almost instantly and kneads dough perfectly. I love it and would recommend it. Strong motor, kneads dough perfectly, easy to operate and easy to clean. It's heavy Show reply

Did you get a response from Cuisinart ? I've just sent a query wanting to purchase a bowl too.
