3 units all the same issue – I have stripped the drive coupler on 3 of these units. I have also broken a blade on one as well (which was caused by ice). I kept buying them in near new used condtion hoping to get one that lasted longer. I like Cuisinart but this unit has issues and is no longer manufactured so sourcing parts is now only possible through futher purchases of secondhand units. Show details
Great product! – I love this machine, it is very well built and feels very solid and sturdy. You can tell the quality of this product. I fell this is equally as consistent for solids and liquids, however I do mostly use it for liquids at the moment. I make a lot of smoothies and milkshakes with this machine as it does such a good job. It even crushes up the ice… Read more
really really well.
Storage isn't an issue for me as I generally leave this plugged in on my bench, as I use it very regularly. If I do pack it away, it is easy to pull it apart and makes storage in the cupboard easier. It is a little noisy which is a shame, but that is the same with any electronic machine really.
The setting are very straight forward & easy to use too.
Good while it works – Somehow stripped thread on drive coupler/clutch. Do not even bother to contact Cuisinart, for a start you won't even get a response. This is a simple fix, probably a few bucks.....but you will have no chance of getting a replacement. So blender is basically useless, everything else works. Suggest you go for Opimax 9400 blender. Cuisinart you have lost a customer for life. Show details
Best appliance ever! – This appliance meets all of the promises - delicious soup in 30 minutes. Simple, efficient, easy to use and clean. Cooks perfectly and blends perfectly! Great recipe book that we are working our way through. This is a keeper! Thank you. (PS if you are not happy with it then you are not using it properly!) Show details
The worst blender I've ever had – I bought this blender about 1 year ago because I saw some good reviews about it. Silly me! This blender, simply cannot blend! I make soups with it, but I can't ever get smooth soups: always chunky, small gravel like texture ones. If I leave it a bit more running, then it overheats and smells. I once used the heating option and some of the food… Read more
got attached at the bottom. It's also very difficult to clean because to take it apart is a real drama. When you are blending in No 2 and switch to No 3, it just suddenly changes speed, makes the blending mixture jump to the lid and finally goes back to the initial position but then only the bottom of the mixture moves. If then you add more water, just splashes back. When you finally add a lot of water the blending mixture starts to rotate normally, but guess what! You can never get a smooth soup. Same with fruits, etc. I have never even considered making peanut butter with it; that would be inconceivable with this 'blender'. I've had many blenders in my life, cheap and expensive, and this one has been the worst. Ahh, and the noise! It's noisy, very noisy!
Poor build quality – We got this blender as a wedding gift from my mum, owned it for about 3 years & only ever got used for smoothies & not that often over that period, maybe 30 times, so my wife goes to use it & it just won't go no power, they have 2 internal fuses that blow & could be an easy fix but no one wants to touch it, not even the manufacturer. I am a chef… Read more
for 20 years so like good kitchen appliances, when it worked it was a good item the best feature to me was the large GLASS jug, most today are plastic. Just very disappointed in being faulty for the little use the motor has had, tamper proof screws on the base makes it hard to change the fuse yourself which I am sure is all the problem is! Engineered obsolescence in what is not a cheap item is very POOR FORM.
Save your money – I bought this blender for making smoothies, after about 6 months (and I did not use it everyday) it stopped working. There is still power to the base, but the blades are not working. It is crap.
Amazing for hot and cold – I'm so glad I bought it, I love it. My first cuisinart purchase, it's been six months since I bought it. I agree with the review above about finding it difficult to clean it first when I gt it, but I do add warm water and then blend before I clean it as usual. The jug is glass, somehow it gives it healthier feature, it blends really well, comes… Read more
with a recipes book that contains some helpful tips as well, soups and dips are delicious and it's money worth spent.
Cuisinart hot and cold blender – I bought this blender after buying a Soup mate which lasted 2 weeks before burning out. The jug is glass and works the same as a soup mate I use this on a daily basis during winter and it is brilliant this is the first Cuisinart appliance I have purchased and I will be purchasing more of their appliances the ice cream maker may be next! You can't go wrong with one of these. Love it.
2nd Time Lucky – OK, so after deciding on soup maker, i purchased the 5 Star Chef Soup Blender Maker Juicer Mixer of eBay for $80. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad product, but 6 months of use and the motor cooked under normal operation. So back to the drawing board. I researched online and found the cuisine art soup blender. Great Reviews. So i hopped back… Read more
onto eBay and found the cheapest one to be $200 from a guy in perth. It arrived about a week later.
My first impression was it was much more robust than the previous soup maker i owned. I have been using it for just over a month now, its terrific, well worth the money. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because of the following... my first soup maker had an inbuilt program, it would boil and blend at intervals automatically, the cuisine art doesn't do that. The cuisine art will boil (to perfection) but the blending part has to be done manually. I usually wait till the 30 minute timer goes off, then blend to the consistency i require. The cuisine art feels much more powerful than the cheaper version, The jar is glass, not plastic (like the 5 previous soupmaker i spoke of).
So my advice to those wanting a soupmaker, spend the extra and go for he cuisine art, its a ripper. Robust build. powerful motor no auto blend program
Love, Love, Love!!!! – I've had my Cuisinart Hot and Cold blender for at least a year now and it's the best appliance I've ever bought! I Absolutely love it. The recipes are easy and delicious too! I use it almost everyday! The only thing bad I can say is that it can be hard to clean it right down the bottom. You can remove the glass from the blender bit but that is… Read more · 1
also hard to do. Easy to use, makes cheap delicious soups, drinks, jams, sauces etc. Can be hard to clean right down the bottom.
Don't waste your hard earned money on this defective product.! – I received this as a Christmas gift from my parents and in late january had to replace it, I used the 'new' ( i think it was a refurb model) blender 4 times since and again I have to replace it. All I used it for was smoothies and they were never smooth, always had chunks, I ran it for short bursts at a time but could not even handle that. I am… Read more
hugely disappointed and think that while this was a great, idea they have failed miserably on the execution.
Nothing short of brilliant! – My wife loves making soups and this machine will make soup from start to stop, including frying onions etc. Just add ingredients, press the appropriate button and it will do everything for you, including keeping it warm. It is also a very good blender. It is heavy, but very well made with a strong motor and top quality blades Ease of use and versatility

Versatile and easy to use – I just love that this machine is so versatile. You can cook soups, even chunky ones that are more like a stew, and use the same device to whip up fantastic smoothies. I'm finding it very handy while I follow a healthy diet program. I even took it with me when I was working away from home so I could make meals in my accommodation. Versatile. Easy to use. Large and heavy, but I don't see how that could be changed.
Disapointing – I managed to make a soup only once, after that, impossible to make it works again... all the lights are on but no heat to cook my veggies... frustrating. It's ok for juice but really heavy, hard to put on the base, hard to clean... expensive for the few juices I managed to drink and the only soup I made with... we are good to buy an other one… Read more
