Has problems with motion detection – It is easy enough to get started so D-Link decided not to bother with providing any real instructions. So when something doesn't work here I am looking for answers. Initially I was happy with this but one of the main reasons I wanted a wifi camera was motion detection. Doing exactly what the D-Link instructional videos do. Select automation, set the action, make sure it's turned on, walk through the area to steal my tv...nothing happens.

D-Link support actually told me to reduce sensitivity. I can't believe that didn't work.

DLINK delivers a very poor user experience – Had these issues with this product & had to return for refund. 1. Unfortunately this product does not operate properly with Google Home Application. 2. the camera speaker has no volume control & is very low so cant even hear anyone talking through it. 3. the online software is buggy & doesn't show HD images properly when viewing remotely. 4. Email alerts do not show any captured images, so you have to login & try and view remotely which takes a long time to render. The alert system sends 1 email for every alert. I had over 200 in 1 day making it impossible to sort out what was important or not.

5. the sound activated alerts volume range edit is limited, so very difficult to remove everyday sounds that activate the alerts.

A great idea ruined by very poor user interfaces & design.

UPDATED REVIEW – ****EDITED**** So, I had this at a 4 star and downgraded it to 1 star and this is why.... After returning the faulty 1 I initially got (review down below), I set up the replacement 1.. boy oh boy.. BIGGEST SHITFIGHT EVER. This time, the camera unit didn't even connect to the mobile device. It kept on telling me to "try again" and "reset the unit" and error code after error code. I will NEVER be getting another 1 lol. I know they say 3rd time lucky and all but stuff that. When I called D-link to tell them the issue, I was told i'll be getting a call from a technician within 24 hours. HOWEVER, not 6 minutes after ending the call, I got an email saying they tried to contact me and missed me. like, WTH, my phone never even rang. Liars!

***INITIAL REVIEW***

I purchased the newly released device today from JB HIFI at around midday. Set it up and its fantastic, great viewing range, 720p quality so its as good as it can be for that range, semi easy set up and small enough to hide.

I just had a couple of problems... daa daa daaaaaaaa!

1, you don't get any guidance on setting it up, there are no instructions for the setting or no setting descriptions apart from where the red button flashes to yellow and how do download the app (facepalms). So all the settings had to be hit and miss and redone and toggled blah blah blah. There's plenty of leaflets in the box but 99% of them are in different languages and what is English, isn't all that helpful as its common knowledge.

Problem 2 is that my unit stopped working at 5:58pm. It just wouldn't connect to my phone anymore when I went into the app. I went to the unit to reset it and it was PIPING HOT, I dropped it as I thought it actually shocked me ...but it didn't... it was just the heat of it. I rang customer support and they're sending me out to get a replacement from JBHIFI

All in all, its a great product but if I didn't get a dud I would have given it 5 stars...although who knows, if I get another dud on the next 1, imma change my stars anyway...:D.
