Stopped working after just 5 years of use – I would not recommend this scooter, I barely used it, just used for short commuting daily. Service it every year. Still, stopped working after 5 years and can't be repaired Show details

Daelim S1- Korean Gem amongst cheap scooters – Had it nearly a year, travelled 7500klm. I am a big guy but can get it up to 110km/hr on freeway trips, quick enough to get ahead in the traffic-light derby. Well sorted, tight, nimble chassis, feels well made & substantial. Looks like a bigger bike than 125cc. Cheap service parts online. Recommend. Bargain  Show details

What a Great Bike for the price-- Top Speed 110Km/Hr – Both my wife and I have ridden this bike for over 2 years and it has not missed a beat. for the CC it travels comfortably on the freeway at 80KM/hr and has a top speed of 110 when you need to pass the slower traffic. There is enough room underneath to store a helmet and the back box for the Jacket and rest of the gear. It best suits the inner suburb commute and will give reliable performance if you service regularly.  Show details

solid, nimble and reliable – Having owned this scooter since new and travelled 7,000km in a year on it, I can honestly say it is a joy to ride and has never missed a beat. It gets far more respect from traffic too as it looks quite large, but still lane splits well. Its a breeze to maintain, and runs just as well as the day I bought it. I run it constantly at full throttle… Read more

and hasn't had any mechanical issues. Fuel economy is for me around 280/300 km per 9L. I've had ALOT of LED's rigged up to it too and the electricals have been fine.

It comfortably, for me (65kg), cruises at over 100kmh even allowing the almost 10% speedo inaccuracy. It brakes very hard, even with two. But the stand out has been its power and handling. Off the line it easily 50m gaps most traffic. And for a year now I have pushed it harder and harder around corners, literally hanging off it and it still doesn't feel like its going to slide out. Its so predictable that it warns you and lets the back slowly slide out. In the wet it grips very well too and oozes confidence to corner and brake hard.

I was sceptical of the combined brake function, and for a long time if I went too fast into a corner and was too scared to lightly touch my back brakes, but slowly I've learnt that using the combined brake (majority back brake) around a corner won't make the front tire loose grip.

Also great is that you can have you feet on the flat like normal, or really outstretch them forward for more comfort.

So, great scooter, really glad I bought it. It looks good, performs very well and instills confidence. Can see this scooter lasting a long time, well beyond my previous Fly 125's 25,000km, which was on the rev limiter for most its life.

Comfortably goes the distance – During 14 months of ownership, my Daelim S1 hasn't let me down. I bought it second hand, having travelled 7200kms at the time. With more than 7000kms of my use, there have been no major maintenance issues. Changing oil and oil filters is easily achieved by oneself. Compared to many 125cc scooters, the fuelrange is very good, usually over 300 km.… Read more

For fuel economy, ideal cruising speeds are at 70 -85 km/hr. In most solo riding conditions, 100km/hr is sustainable on freeways. With a passenger, speeds of up to 95km/hr are sustainable ( dependant on the overall weight carried ). A trouble free nature, though keep checking the oil level in the sump as every several 100 kms, some will be used.
