Cant afford to run it – I should have done my homework. This unit costs $12 to $15 per day to run, even just for one room and we cant afford to turn to on. It does not use less power for fewer rooms. It is very effective and cools the house quickly, but it's a very bad investment on our part. Our builder's electrician insisted on Daikin and we regret bowing down to him.  Show details

Cooling is Great, Heating is Problematic – I had my Daikin installed last April [2016] with a 'Zone Touch' controller that allows me to adjust the level of airflow in every zone (room). I find the cooling cycle works extremely fast and incredibly well. However, throughout winter I found the heating wasn't as effective. Most days I had the temperature set to around 30 degrees to get the… Read more

house warm, but a contributing factor could have been that South Australia had a exceptionally cold winter last year. I can program the air to turn on and off automatically several times a day (I think up to 6 times) which means the house is always cool/warm when I get home and will turn off after I've fallen asleep. The air conditioner is unbelievably quiet and the Zone Touch enables me to have a different level of airflow in every room so I can tailor the amount of hot/cold to suit individual tastes. Overall I am very happy with the Daikin air-conditioner I got and would recommend it to others.

Best ever – Very happy with this airconditioning and it is very quiet. Cools down quickly, but have not used the heating side as yet, best airconditioning purchase I have ever made. Very easy to operate and great that it is zoned, so don't have to do whole house at once, had whole house on, for Christmas Day and it didn't even struggle in the heat  Show details

Heaven on earth with Daikin – We had Daikin air conditioning installed throughout our home and it is just wonderful. We are now in our second year and the comfort is great. You can adjust the fan speed so you have quiet control and sleep without noise. It has made Summer much more bearable and in Winter you have instant heat when you arrive home. The Daikin has also proved to be cost effective with electricity use. Easy to clean filters in the indoor unit.  Show details

Continually ices up and stops working – We got our new unit installed 2 months ago and we hate it. We spent over $13k wanting the best we could get but it is certainly not the best - the 10 year old system we had worked heaps better. Apparently these new models are made to stop working to de-freeze and it puts all the hot air outside onto this part to defrost it. Meanwhile the… Read more

temperature drops 10 degrees inside your house.

Only happens when it's under 6 degrees. Therefore when you really need it work.

Not a bad product as long as it keeps working. Daikin support is terrible – Our outside compressor is icing up and Daikin support has given us the run around for 3 months (!). They have replaced part after part but will not replace the whole unit. We have now gone through a whole winter with no heating. Now I've called Daikin again and they don't have any record of the last three months of ongoing calls and repairs(!!)… Read more

Not good enough on warranty support by far Daikin.

Daikin and Actron are the two top tier ducted reverse cycle units. Daikin's units are pretty good but their level of service means that Daikin is a poor overall choice. Save yourself the headaches and buy an Actron instead.
