Dali Concept 6

Great Speakers, Incredible clarity for the price – At this price point you cannot expect too much, these Dali Concept 6 speakers do sound great. I am no audiophile but to me from the bass to the treble are a pleasure to listen from. Got a reasonable from JB HI-FI for less $800. I have now had these for a few years and they still sound and look great. I would recommend these to anyone who would inquire. I have also seen these in a black finish too. good value – I got a set a few months ago powered them from a txnr609 onkyo amp and matched with a set of concept 1 rears and concept centre and concept sub (in hindsight I probably didn't need the sub). All I can say is it sounds quite good for the price. The speaker construction looks good, rubber surrounds, I am not sure what the cone and dust cap are made from, I think it is a pulp, but looks solid. The wood grain finish of the box looks cheap in my opinion but hopefully they are spending the money on better crossovers, magnets and voice coils for the speakers. It has good dynamic range plenty of base and a fairly smooth well matched tweeter (nowhere as good as a focal though), I listed to the concept 8 and 10 but I was disappointed as they did not sound very smooth and natural, they were missing upper and mid range and sounded out of balance.

I would have loved to use a set of focals but I just can't justify the $2500 for a set. and matching in a set of rears and centre would blow the budget big time. I started off listening to some Yamaha systems priced around the $2000 - $3000 mark but after the first two I listened to and looked at crossed them out. The construction looked cheap (foam surrounds) and sounded it too. I was very surprised and disapointed. build quality, price tweeter quality not a good as it could be, wood grain finish on the box makes them look cheaper than they are
