The Cooking Appliance of all Appliances – I Love my Flavorwave Turbo Platinum/s. All foods come out So Crispy & Crunchy yet inside So Juicy & So Many Flavour. The benefit over the the oiginal unit is the tilt back lid opposed to lifing it off & placing it in the holding rack which provides huge benefits for the elderly. Another huge benefit is the ability to cook over liquids which are… Read more · 1
used to baste what is being cooked throughout the cooking process. I will never be without a Flavorwave & currently own 3 Platinum models

Baker's Heaven – I only have a small oven and bought the turbo model - it is great for pastries. The downside is its size but I am now used to it. It has been around 3 years since I bought it and it is still going strong. A great buy. It is sad that they are no longer available - hopefully the FlavorChef works well, although I am not so sure that it is suitable for pastries.
lack of spare parts information – I have a Mr T Flavorwave Platinum and love it. Bought it not quite 3 years ago, however, I am now unable to set the time for cooking using the + [plus sign] on the top of the oven. I am able to set a time using the minus sign but this does not allow for setting the time for less than an hour as the lower the time goes the quicker it jumps via… Read more
hours. I have searched the internet for spares or even how to get it fixed without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am an aged pensioner and I rely on this for so much of my cooking. Plus I absolutely love the oven and would hate to be without it. Cooks really well, low fat, quick and inexpensive. Lack of information on how to repair or get spare parts
I Pitty the fool that doesnt buy a flavour wave! – Saw the add on late night tv with Mr T standing there telling me "he pity's the fool who doenst buy a flavour wave!" Cracked me up so on impulse I purchased one. Does a good job of cooking most things without having to use your oven. I cooked a chicken and pork in mine with pretty good results. Found it a bit fiddly to clean though which is a big downer. Overall pretty good I would recommend others give it a go. easy to use Fiddly to clean
Very good to cook with but time & temperature came off – I bought a flavourwave about 18 months ago after 6 months the temperature and time rubbed off, took it back to shop, assistant said it was a faulty batch where the temp etc wasn't baked on properly, she gave me a new lid and said it won't happen with this one, but the same thing has happened again, so don't know if it is a common fault or my bad… Read more
luck that I got 2 bodgy lids. In saying that the cooker is good and quick, saves heating up the oven, have to agree though with another review that it doesn't self clean as good as they say it does on tv. Prior yo buying the flavourwave I bought another cheaper version which only lasted just over 12 months, would I buy another one? Yes probably as it does save costs, time etc in heating up an oven to cook a pie or something similar. Ease of use Temp and time rubbed off
Very disappointed – I did wonder if it could be as good as they said. It wasn't. Even the CHOICE review was too generous, which is what I based my decision to purchase this appliance on. The bowl is heavy so it is difficult to wash in the sink unless you have a nice big sink. The self wash action isn't all it's cracked up to be. Looks good when they demonstrate it… Read more
but then, they are doing it in a clean bowl.
I have had my Flavorwave for about 18 months. Haven't used it much because cleaning up is quite difficult. I just went to roast a chicken in it and the darned thing won't even turn on. I really feel I wasted my money on this purchase and certainly won't purchase anything else from Danoz Direct.
Another feature of the Flavorwave I don't like is the reflective plate under the bowl. It would have been prudent of the manufacturer to make the reflective plate the same size as the bowl or at least the base. The number of times I have cut myself whilst cleaning the bench around it I can not count!
At this point I think I will offer on Ebay all the accessories I bought for it and the glass bowl. The ad on tv was impressive and while it worked, it did cook a chicken well. Certainly not all it's cracked up to be. A waste of money in my opinion
Love it! So versatile! Makes cooking a pleasure! – As I write this review, my Flavorwave Platinum is busy cooking Baked Whole Brie in Puff Pastry with Black Cherry Filling for a Christmas party I'm attending tonight. Last night, I made pizzas. The night before roast vegetables and lamb rump steaks. All those things and so many more have been cooked in my Flavorwave Platinium. I use my Flavorwave… Read more · 1
oven virtually everyday and have found it incredibly versatile cooking everything from family roasts to curries & casseroles; pizzas to cakes & pastries, even frozen fish & chips!
The oven took a little getting used to and some trial and error was needed to adapt temperatures and times for favourite recipes but I have to say I'm very happy with this product. I was apprehensive when I bought it but have been absolutely delighted with the results this appliance produces.
I live in a hot climate & in summer the normal oven made the temperature in the kitchen almost unbearable. A BIG plus for me is the fact that the Flavorwave Oven does not affect the room temperature at all so cooking in summer is a much more pleasant task now.
It is also such a healthy way to cook as I use almost no oil or fat in any dish now. I toss peeled root vegetables in a couple of teaspoons of oil with some dried herbs, pop them in the Flavorwave and out come beautiful, golden, crisp roast vegetables. Crumbed meat, fish or chicken is the same with no oil required to produce a lovely, crisp, golden crumb-coating. It also keeps the meat products really moist and tender while any fat from the meat just drains into the bottom of the bowl.
I have not bothered to use the self-cleaning option as I find clean up in the sink a breeze. The glass bowl and all the accessories are very easy to clean. My teenage son even commented that the Flavorwave bowl is the easiest thing to wash-up because it comes clean so easily!
I would highly recommend the Flavorwave Platinum Oven to both novice & experienced cooks alike. I imagine it would be great for holidays & caravan trips. I'll definitely be packing it on our next holiday. I'm also going to buy one for each of my sons when they head to Uni.
The Flavorwave Oven is rapidly becoming my favourite kitchen utensil & now I have it, I can't imagine life without it! Very versatile, energy efficient, easy to use & clean.
