Debco Organic Potting Mix

Full of fungus gnats – I bought 8 bags from Mitre 10 Whitfords as I had a lot of plants. I am extremely disappointed. My house is alive with fungus gnats! I will probably need to re pot again with a quality potting mix. When I went to check the last bag in the garage hundreds of gnats flew out. I have never had a problem with fungus gnats with potting mix from local suppliers in WA. The Debco potting mix was very wet. I can only presume that coming from the Eastern States bad weather and adverse conditions over there have caused the problem. In future I will travel the extra kilometres to purchase from Bunnnings my usual potting mix that I have used for 40 years.

Not premium organic potting mix; bark mulch – Very disappointing product. Like many others report online, the product is more like bark chip mulch than soil, compost or potting mix. A waste of money unless you are happy to pay premium potting mix prices for pine bark mulch.

Fantastic Organic mix....my plants are loving it – Planted a whole bunch of stuff in this from vegies to ornamentals and they love it. All thriving! Ive bought a few Debco mixes in the past and Ive had a great result every time.

Very poor potting mix, worst I've used – I've purchased other Debco mixes and found them fine. But this one is terrible. I planted some small lettuce and pansy seedlings, and penstemons in good pots with good drainage, sunny spot, sufficiently watered, many weeks ago. All failed to grow or grew so slow and stunted. I've been gardening for years, I know potting mixes can vary, but this one is a total waste of money. Superior in name only. Not worth the one star.
