Misleading company, charges you to pay bills in full before they offer pay in 4 – They don't actually provide the service they advertise. I created an account ages ago but never used it. Contacted customer support, they asked for pictures of the back and front of my driver licence. Sent that through and then got a message saying something along the lines of "congratulations, you have been approved for an account, but to unlock the pay in 4 feature I have to make 3 or 4 full bill payments via deferit"
Why on earth would I pay a full bill through a 3rd party app? Especially when they charge fees for paying the bill on your behalf. Like it's absolutely ludicrous. If I could pay the bill in full why the hell would I be going to a company that advertises "Get the flexibility to pay bills your way and pay over time in 4 easy instalments. Always interest free. No late fees." Not once does it say on their front page that you have to make 4 full payments first.
Pretty misleading and poor way to do business. Told them to delete my account and I was told that I can't reactivate for 12 months hahahahaha yeah that's absolutely no issue because I won't be using a service that charges me to pay bills on my behalf, I'm quite capable of using the payment details on my bill to pay bills in full, it's actually pretty insulting.
Only positive is that [Name Removed] who was assisting me was very kind and quick at responding to my questions, my advice [Name Removed], go find a better company to work for :)
Great for when vehicle registration is due – Can't speak highly enough the company. I had an issue with a current account to be paid and the staff were excellent. Affects your credit rating – I use deferit I like it and it works well but 2 things you need to know they do a hard credit check which stays on your file for 5 years and I have noticed that if you pay a bill on the 2nd that they still try to charge you 5.99 saying it's still the first of the month but it is very useful to have as an option I will add a photo of one but the other says the first even it's the second day of the month. I've had Deferit for a long time. I've build my credit from a small amount to a satisfactory limit over time. They've handled quickly and efficiently. I've never had a problem. My account occured a flag thru my bank (for lost card) and Deferit took measures to lock and secure it, until verification was provided to unlock. Show reply
Follow-up · The app is easy to use. When uploading a bill, be sure it's readable. They will reach out if they need more information. The fees are 99 cents for processing (bills) The membership fees are different. That is to maintain your account. I can't remember exactly what I started with. I think it was 100 at first, I've since worked my credit history with Deferit. Deferit has been my blessing in many ways!

Follow-up · Deferit other perks are increase in the amount you are able to use for bills, such as $250 to $400. The payments are super easy, they range from 20$ up, depending on your bill amount. Extending payments is easy to do, by login and change due/payment dates on your account. There are no late fees, just a monthly membership. It's a good way to pay your bills.

deleted it and then I put it back on. I paid the monthly cost it’s worth it. I spoke with customer service who was so quick and efficient and so willing to help me resolve my problem in my issue that it just made me want to give them a chance and i’m so glad that I did. My 1st bill was submitted they even have a trace and track number that you can give the biller in case there are any problems with them not seeing that the bill was paid and I think that was great and as soon as I mentioned Deferit to spectrum, they knew exactly who I was talking about. The Customer Service is just amazing and the features on the app you can’t get it anywhere else, like you can literally change the dates of your next payment on the app as soon as your first payment goes through, you can’t get that anywhere else it’s worth it. They really do help you in your time of need. Try it and you’ll be just like me one happy customer.
Awful customer service - No real-time customer service. They don't value you one bit – Terrible customer service - Absolutely horrendous UNABLE to talk to a human in real time. Don’t waste your time with them as they cleary don’t care about their customers with the nonsense I’ve had to deal with.
Had another query about a bill that was due next day – Still trying to get it resolved by simply being able to have someone to help!!! Bill is now overdue because there is absolutely no real-time customer service. If something goes wrong you WILL NOT be able to get it resolved in under a week. I have had mostly positive experiences using their app. Although I have decided to cease using their services after a second rise to their monthly fee since July where it has gone up to $9.99 starting next month. This would be fine, but they also add on fees for the bills they pay. For example I have 3 bills uploaded one is $710 which is costing $721.48 to repay, another $453.62 with a repayment of $461.24, and another bill of $140.00 with a total repayment $142.92. That's a total of $21.97 in fees, plus their account keeping fee of $10 - to essentially provide a 42 day credit account on $1303 worth of credit. Which really in the scheme of things isn't a lot, roughly 2.5% however, this flies in the face of their spiel about hating to charge fees and then saying how they don't charge interest. The bottom line is they do, they just disguise and word it differently. At the end of the day it is simply cheaper & more convenient to put it on my credit card and utilise the interest free period. I originally started using it because I preferred to see where these start ups were going rather than support the banks, but I feel a lot of people have trapped themselves into these services with money they can't afford to repay and these companies are now capitalising on that.
