It was good while it lasted. We got 4 years of use from this - the electrical plug in the back needed to be jiggled to make it work. Too dangerous to use any longer. For nearly $300 I would expect better quality/design and that it would last longer. Disappointed Show details
Even less happy with replacement – Got a replacement grill for defective one, this one grinds metal shavings off the handle every time I use it. I can hear and feel it grinding and it leaves tiny little shards of metal behind. Show details

Wow love this so much – I have to rate the Delonghi multi grill CgH1012D 5 stars as for me it is used basically daily and sometimes twice a day. I have seared perfect steak, and the thick style toasted cafe sandwiches, even on a wonderful bread roll toasted. Chicken, pancakes, grilled cheese on meat pattie for hamburger, the simplest and quickest caramelised onions and… Read more
just fried onions. Scrambled eggs, (though if the mix as too pancake batter is quite thin, just make sure to have the back end raised so the plates are lever..(designed for fats to drain off into collect. As a single person brilliant, and so fast. The only thing I have to be negative about and please remember that I have purchased this years after it was released; is to get two flat plates, or two bbq grill plates (as the unit comes with one flat and one ribbed grill plate which I am learning to manage is impossible seems they are no longer selling them. This is not enough of an issue for me to remove a star. the non stick is superb so easy to remove the plates to wash, or just wipe down in situ. Sure there is the normal steam/smoke of any process where oil meat, food with moisture is being cooked. I do not have extractor fan and it is not a problem for me so if you have an extractor fan even better if that is of concern. It is a fairly large surface area, not sure how it would go for say a family wanting full breakfast or mixed grill situation. I have grilled zucchini, aubergine, squash and achieved really fast potato grilled slices, which had a lovely crunchy outside..(not like fried chips of course though maybe a bit more oil and it would be more so). I use hardly any oil. and even a sweet product or marinade does not stick. LOVE this so much!...I am so happy I chose to purchase this and was so fortunate that BIG W had it on sale recently for an incredible price, as I was looking to replace my 20+ year old brevile toasted sandwich maker which finally gave up the ghost. (I did try a replacement new revile but was so unhappy with the cheap quality and massive size bread you would have to have to use it. It was also for a toasted sandwich maker very expensive. After using this Delonghi I would pay more for it.. It takes up a fair amount of bench space, and I have a small kitchen, and needs a greater clearance height for the opening of it. Yet mine is out always and its not a problem for me. I have seen some reviews saying the set up of the handle is dangerous. I personally find it perfectly safe and no issue. I am not tall, but still have never come close to any issue with opening this machine. I would supervise young children with it, and ensure that older ones are shown how to use it correctly. But hey you can burn yourself on a toaster if not careful or a kettle. It is a solid well built grill and the ability to change temperature on the top and/or bottom plates excellent and very easy the grill is very responsive when you change the temp. The grease/juice/marinade collection is easy to access (after the machine is cool) and well designed to be easy to wipe out and wash).
This is perfect my whole family uses it almost daily – I love this multigrill, I have had it for over 2years and it still my family’s favourite way to cook. This is because it is the easiest and fastest way to cook from eggs and bacon, pancakes/waffles to easy healthy grilled chicken, toasties or dinner with steak, vegetables and even sweets. The temperature setting is always perfect, with the lid… Read more
closed our food is steaming in it own juices while getting grilled to perfection and even sometimes topped off, effortlessly with the top plate in hover position to melt some cheese. To finish off it looks amazing on my bench top. Love it! love it!
Ideal Multifunction Grill/Toaster – After my Sunbeam sandwhich press expired, we looked around at every alternative with many being unavailable due to COVID shortages. We ended up selecting this one even though we thought it 'overkill' for what we needed. There was simply little choice. This product has proven to be: Well built and of sturdy, quality construction Has an… Read more
adjustable top that actually sits in place (unlike most others) and has removable and swappable hot plates that can be put in the dishwasher. Its a bit more complicated. You have to switch it on, set the timer and then press start. A little too much I think but it includes the added safety in that it switches itself off. It won't crush your bread/sandwiches although getting the right level of the top plate can take a little work You can vary the temprature of other upper and lower plates as you see fit.
We've only used it for toasting bread and pitas and it works really well. Heat up is fast and its nicely constructed and balanced item, although its much heavier than the Sunbeam/Breville sandwich press. It doubles as an emergency grill if needed, although I don't expect that I'd use it for that. It was more expensive than the competitors at $250 ish v $130 but it makes some sense if the added features suited you You can add waffle plates etc (at extra cost) although we haven't done this yet.
It looks much better than the competiors and you could easily leave this out in your kitchen unlike the lesser models that look tacky. Its made in China but it certainly looks like its Italian. Its well built and everything fits together well. The only downside I can see is that its much heavier than the competitors so if you were moving it around alot it might be a bit of a nuisance.
Useful but has design flaws – It’s wonderful that the grill has multiple uses by replacing the plates. The knobs that adjusts the temp is placed where all splatters get to. And since it is textured, it’s not very easy to clean. The top handle when pushed up makes your wrist very close to the hot plate. The cord is short but it depends on you. Lastly and this is quite… Read more
irritating, the waffle plates ha a preset temp so as Delonghi’s customer service people suggest, maybe change the recipe if the one you’re using is burning too quickly.
Great product with a serious design flaw – This is a very versatile product which does many things well . This has become an integral part of our lift since we bought it .. individual controls are excellent and cleaning is fairly easy as plates are removable. It’s been a year and half and the device works flawlessly. The device looks premium and the features are excellent. All points… Read more

The biggest issue I found is the design of the handle. As it’s bent upwards( see pic). Your forearm gets dangerously close to the upper hot plate and can give you severe burn if you a not paying attention:
The current design of the bend on the handle to support the top plate when fully open needs to go back to the drawing board considering the risk of burn . ... if this is rectified this device will become flawless in its usability and safety. The power cord could have a better shielding ..
Great product – I love this machine. My husband makes his breakfast on this every morning. Bacon eggs tomato sausages. He's not a good cook but manages with this appliance much better than a frypan on the stove. So much cleaner. No extra oil needed on the nonstick plates. Removable plates easily washed and replacement plates are readily available and inexpensive.… Read more · 1
Love the sear function for steak and the open grill function for melted cheese open sandwiches. Highly recommended.
My Favourite Appliance – I purchased this product more than 8 months ago and use it multiple times a week. In fact, we have even taken it away with us on holiday! I love the fact the plates are removable and dishwasher safe. This allows for them to be cleaned thoroughly, unlike other grills. The adjustable temperature on both top and bottom is great, our previous grill… Read more
did not have a temperature option at all. And the Sear function works great for steaks. I received a bonus plate set when I purchased and I am so glad I did. The option of having 2 flat plates or 2 ridged plates on the machine has made this so functional, along with the added feature of having the whole lot open out to create to cooking surfaces. We don't use our oven or a frying pan as often any more, as we can do it all in the grill - with less oil too!! You name it I probably cooked it on or grill. From bacon and eggs to cheese toasties, Tuna steaks to Chicken Kebabs, I love my Multigrill.
Great for making waffles with the kids – I love this product. Purchased it about a week ago and it’s been my go to appliance ever since. I have used it for making perfect steak (using sear function) and as a open grill to make fish on one side and vegetables on the other. It has two seperate temperatures for each side of the grill which is a great function. The plates are interchangeable… Read more
and dishwasher safe. I brought the waffle plates and my son made me a nice breakfast today. Highly recommend!!!
Taking toasties to a new level – I would highly recommend this sandwich toaster/multi-grill. Super simple to use but allows far more functionality than typical sandwich toasters- I can cook a wide range a meals in this appliance from steaks to burgers and even melt cheese on open sandwiches!
