laughed at me when I tried to claim it again without a receipt. The lady from corporate help centre in Sydney just hung up on me.

It's just not worth the hassle. Once it stops working there is nothing you can do other than to take it in, have it sent away, repaired and sent back to you. That turn around takes at least two weeks and who wants to do that every year.

Buy a petrol, at least you can work on the unit to attempt a home fix. The minute you open this thing you void the warranty.
