Best investment ever – Going on 11 years, no problems no replacements needed. Still works as good as the day I got it. Best purchase! DC15RCBW Show details · 1
Failure of my dimplex dc15rcbw portable air conditioner to cool or heat. Just out of 2 year warranty – I bought the dimplex DC15RCBW portable air conditionerin November 2019 and it failed to cool, heat or dehumidify in just over 2 years of use. Advised by dimplex in december 2021 they had no recommended local repairers. Went back to supplier who suggested that repairs would likely be uneconomical and to purchase a new one. Unhappy with both responses and as such would not recommend the purchase of a dimplex product. Show details
Stay away from Dimplex – This is the third or fourth machine we have had replaced. This is the same issue and it still has not been resolved. Stay away from the Dimplex brand. These portable air-cons are defective and need to be recalled. The machine is supposed to let you know when the tank is full and it has never done this since the first machine we purchased. machine leaks everywhere even after we have emptied it. Very poor make. Stay away from other brands that Dimplex owns like Euromaid. These appliances are defective also.
Update: It has been 3 weeks since Dimplex got in contact with me about the Air Conditioner and after sending 2 emails with information there has been no reply or update. Stay Away from this company as they do not have any customer service and do not care once they have your money.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I will reach out to you directly to provide some more details. Thanks
What a beauty I was surprised – Looked around for awhile at different portable aircons and was told not to buy them by many sales reps at good guys and JB hifi etc. But I rent so I wanted something portable I could take with me if i moved. My room in summer hits 45+ degrees on some days as it catches the afternoon sun and the Dimplex wipes this out within minutes in a room 6 x 5… Read more · 2
mq2. Hardly expels any water into the small tray it came with and I have to empty that amount once a day and I live in a sub-tropical area. The settings are great and the auto button I favour mainly because once the room gets to the desired temps the system shuts right down till you can hardly hear it. It is on low noise to try and sleep with but I have only used in the night once so far. I await the winter to try the heating cycles. One more thing i must say that I would not buy this system for the full price as the units rrp is too much. JB hifi had a sale on with nearly 25% off the price.
Really disappointed – I rent so I needed something I could take with me ... I purchased this product in Feb 19 and have only just had to start using it now for the heating .... Firstly, no hose is supplied for the heating / dehumid cycles, so you need to go to Bunnings to get a 16mm piece of hose and this means yes, the hose also needs to be hanging off the machine… Read more
and out the window ... not very attractive when you are sitting inside, we hide it when guests come over. Secondly, it is so, so noisy ... we have to put the TV on an extremely loud level to hear anything .... the consensus has now been to sell it as really unpleasant to sit in the room. Plus in the heating mode, the AUTO mode does not work, I only have a choice of low or high! Then there are the LARGE running costs ... Wished I had tested all the functions when I purchased as I would have returned within 30 days when I purchased from TVSN. Pity, now I'm back on the search for something that is suitable and that is not so noisy. Anyone who has said its 5 stars would you like to buy mine?
Hi Mish K, Thank you for taking the time to review our product.
Makes summer heat bearable – I live in a summer sweat box, I'm on top of a hill and the western side of the building is completley exposed to the west, one day of temp above 30 and my apartment starts to heat up, if there is a couple of days over 30 it becomes unbearable to the point of insanity, this unit has helped me to get some sleep and remain sane. It's not cheap and it's not going to turn your house into the south pole but it if you have nothing else it's worth it. Show details
Hello Mark Thanks for posting a review on our product, we really appreciate your feedback.
Dimplex – Suport from dimplex is great , The unit is a little nosie 56db how ever it is constantly the same , easily to get used to it i would say a bit more then window unit from in side Tested in a 29sq meter area and cooled area not supa cool but dehumanized in 20 min that made a diffrents i can see it cooling well over summer The air flow… Read more · 1
hole is about 1/2 of window unit but has good strong air flow could feel ot around conner in another room :)
For a portable unit i am happy have had dimplex units before and i like this 1 more then others , as i said the noise is there but its no annoying becouse it stays same even when compresser is on just a little noisier then the air flow sound
The only thing i would like to see is a handle on side of unit for moving and a beer cooler holder
The good guys wanted $1295 for unit over the top i got this unit new for under $650
Great little room cooler – I bought this ac for my lounge room in my new apartment and found it worked particularly well. Was initially concerned with how difficult it would be to install, however set up was relatively easy - only took a couple of minutes. Can see how it can be a little noisy on high fan speed for a bedroom, but seems more than reasonable on low-medium fan speed. Happy with it! Show details
Great room cooler – I needed an air conditioner that would keep my room cool in summer. This air conditioner does the job realy well. Its easy to use, easy control and easy to locate where you want it. Installation was a bit tricky but not too difficult. its not what I'd call a super quiet machine, espcially on the highest setting, but the trade off of the level… Read more
of noise versus the heat reduction in the room is worth it. It easily maintains an ambient temperature of 22C in my room even when its blistering hot outside
Better than expected – I put off purchasing a portable aircon because most reviews suggested that they did not work. Finally went ahead and got myself the DC15RCBW 4.4kW. Working it in a room at the upper end of recommended space it performed really well over a hot summer. Must insulate exhaust hose and seal room. Sure it is inefficient and eats up power, but so worth… Read more · 1
it. I tended to run it on weekend afternoons and it was so great to have some coolness. Lowered ambient temp by about 4-5C, but even better when sitting a few feet in front of grill. Just the thing for renters like me. Seems like this model has been discontinued, so hopefully a new model maintains or improves on performance.
Excellent – I am very pleased with this purchase. It kept my room cool on our hottest day here of 46.7C. The unit is easy to move and the window kits works with my window frame. This unit is quieter than my previous unit which lasted about 10 years. The vents are easy to clean. When I needed to drain the unit it was a simple process as the plug is on… Read more · 1
the side and not under the unit.
So far I've only used the air con and fan settings on this unit but I have no doubt the heat and dehumidifier will also work as well.
Not perfect but does a job particularly in a rental property – It is too noisy to sleep with running but cools a medium size bedroom down in 30 to 60 mins depending on temperature. It requires a window outlet to fitted into window which can be fiddly initially. remote control is great. Also it has a water drain near wheel that can be bumped that will let excess water out which may need occasional draining. Show details · 1
A bit disappointed – Installation was more involved when using a sliding door. The heat coming from vent pipe before it reaches outside (including an inefficient seal with the unit that leaks hot air no matter how much care in fitting) certainly reduces efficiency. I must admit that the cooling effectiveness does disappoint me. Also the short cord, and requirement… Read more
not to use an extension lead, makes the unit less portable. It does cool to some extent but at temperature setting of 23 the compressor works continuously. Dread my next power bill! The main plus is that it can be uninstalled and moved if necessary.

It seems that a representative from Dimplex has responded to all other reviews except mine. I wonder why?
