Very Happy with our purchase – We have been using the Dimplex Portable Electric heater for a few months now and we love it. It makes our lounge room feel and so cozy, it also makes the room look stylish. We also have two little kids who love playing with stuff but this heater is very safe for someone who is worried about the kids burning themselves. We are very happy with our purchase well worth the money. Show details ·  1

Incorrect thermostat sensor – Disappointed with Ritz. With the thermostat set at Max, it shut down when the family room had only reached 21c, then kept constantly turning on and off. Called Dimplex who advised thermostat range is between 7-32c and to return it, which ended up being tricky as retailer was not happy, but $400 is a lot to pay for something that is not right. … Read more

Definitely a problem with the thermostat sensor unfortunately, as the heater looks great, and the heat output and fan were really good.

Looks good but unable to maintain heat setting – Heater only operates for 30sec before turning off. Thermostat is on the highest setting. Flame effect looks great but actual capacity to heat the room is ineffective. Would not recommend Show details

Overpriced crap – Was gifted this heater looks great heats ok. Defiantly not worth $350 after a few months the fire affect stopped working now. not even 12mths on the heat only works when it wants to. Real disappointment. Kmart sells a radiant heater for $60 and hands down it's better then this $350 heater.... don't waste ya money on this!!!!!!!! Show details

Aesthetically pleasing – I really like this heater. Looks great. Value for money. Portable. Heating options. Heats a good sized room. Only negative is that mine rattles sometimes on high heat. Annoying. Disappointing.  Show details ·  1

Ineffective as a heater – The Ritz heater is pleasing to look at but very disappointing as a heater. We are using it I a 4x4m room and it makes little difference to room temperature. The room does have high ceilings (3m) but we were at least expecting the room to be warm after an hour. Sadly this is not the case and we have come to the conclusion that it is just an expensive, glorified fan heater. We would not recommend this product. Show details

Flame looks amazing! Heats the room well :) – Bought this heater a few months ago. We use it daily and have no issues with it. The faux flames give the room a very nice cosy feel. I find that the 2000W heating works well for our 5X5m room. I don't think this is a good heater for any room larger than this. Very realistic flame effect heater, but lacks other features that should be there – I had been looking around for a flame effect heater for some time. This Dimplex Ritz heater won in the end because of the authentic look of the logs and flame. I also liked the way it had two heat options. However unlike cheaper models, it does not have a thermostat, nor can you increase or decrease the flame brightness. These are two features… Read more ·  1

that Dimplex surely could have included. Also, the unit is quite noisy to run, unlike cheaper models. This heater is quite expensive but that is probably because of the brand name. If you are after a very realistic flame effect heater, consider this Dimplex Ritz. If you want more features, go for a cheaper model.

Great heater for smaller rooms – This is my second winter with this heater and it works really well (and the dogs love it!). The flames are really realistic, and give a cosy ambience in a cold rental. The heat is good, heats a smallish lounge effectively except on the very coldest days and I haven't noticed any huge increase in my power bill (South Australia). Very happy with it and would buy it again.  Show details ·  1

Look for another type – The coldest nite of the year I was looking forward to warming up. Started the heater and it stopped working after 20 minutes. It is a neat compact appliance small enough to hide in a cupboard over summer. There was no explanation for the malfunction and my money was refunded  Show details

Beautiful flame effect, still a fan heater – I bought this heater after reading through the reviews hoping to heat a medium sized room. I already own a dimplex chico eco electric column heater - but it wasnt enough for the size of the room. The Ritz does heat the room well, but running a 2kw fan heater is really expensive. I have ended up keeping the column heater in the room as it puts… Read more

out a soft more economical heat, and then just turning on the fan - usually to the lower setting (1000)kw when I am in the room. On really cold nights we have run the 2000watt setting, however I have already been advised my useage is way up by my electricity supplier. I think in a warmer climate it wouldnt be such an issue, or if you dont live in south australia where electricitiy is so high. On the plus side the actual unit is lovely, the flame effect is quite amazing, it doesnt have an obvious pattern, and so many people comment on how real it looks, some even have to do a double take. The lights in the heater are LED and because you can use it without the fan heater operating it is a lovely decorative effect, and does make the room feel cozy.

I think I am more disappointed because the chico eco heater is a great type of heat, just not powerful enough, and comparing the heat type to the ritz makes it feel more inferior. Ideally the ritz could have the chico eco heat source with a fan boost and the flame effect and it would be an amazing heater.

Absolutely brilliant! – Absolutely adore this little faux fireplace/heater. Surprisingly very powerful in closed rooms/smaller (closed off) living areas. I highly recommend to anyone interested! The flame effect is so peaceful, and can be run without the heat settings (making it more efficient). This setting is also silent, while the heat settings have a slight pur to them. A final note- the faux fire is very realistic. Thank you, Dimplex.  Show details

Very disappointed – I expected that the heater would be 2 speeds, however on No. 1 setting the fan doesn't come on so it has to be run on setting 2 to get any heat out of the machine. I would not recommend this product to any of my family or friends as I am sure there are better products on the market.  Show details

fabulously functional and attractive! – Great heater for small spaces, heats quickly and looks realistic and attractive! Have not seen a better heater for the genuine log fire look. Would definitely purchase again and recommend to anyone. Good clean heat! Value for money is second to none, only costing between the $250 to $300. Just great!  Show details
