My DX403 is old enough to vote - and it just got sick – I got my DX403 in 2004 and it has worked well apart from an electronic fault 10 years ago that stopped it drying after the wash. Today it stopped mid-cycle with a repeated 3-beep warning of "Overfill" (whatever that is). I have emailed Electrolux support for advice. Overall - it has worked reliably for 19 years (used once a week) with only one… Read more ·  1

service call (so far). - it has never dried plastics, but I got used to that. - its miracle detergent dispenser door often failed to open, so I always threw the tablet into the washer. Worked just fine. - it's discontinued, so all of this is just me being annoyed that an appliance has probably died in its old age.

In response to prompted questions: - it's easy to use. Little bloatware (features that are never used) - I always scrape scraps before washing, and usually rinsed dishes that had non-fatty gunk on them. - Never had a clogging problem (see point above).

Conclusion: As a brand, Electrolux has behaved well. Let's see how their service department handles a geriatric device with an "Overfill" issue.

Bad circuit board – In 2010 we moved into a house with this dishwasher and it was around 6 years old roughly at the time. At first it was a good dishwasher. But less than 2 years later the circuit board failed mid cycle, we got it repaired. Than roughly two years later it stopped heating the water. Got that fix a year later, than 3 washes later failed again. This dishwasher worked strong at the time of replacement but didn't heat the water properly. Show details

After 12 years, still going strong! – Our Dishlex DX403 was purchased in August 2004, that's an amazing 12 years ago and it still cleans and dries perfectly!. Plastic items of course need to be dried manually, I don't expect a dishwasher to dry plastic items. We had one breakdown early on (water heater failure), otherwise no faults except the cutlery basket fell apart, probably to… Read more

be expected after 10 years.

Favourite features: it cleans dishes perfectly, its quiet, efficient and reliable.

Expensive repairs! – In the 6 years we have owned this machine we have had to replace the heater unit twice at $200 a repair and now the wash motor is on its way out, the spray head keeps falling off and there is no point repairing it! I would expect to get a lot longer out of this type of appliance, especially considering it wasn't used everyday!

Terrible machine – Doesn't wash very clean and takes a long time to complete. Lately we have been getting error code 10 for some reason. The front panel is starting to rust and the lower panel has fallen off. Would not buy another electrolux. Had a Conia which worked a heck a lot better. Quiet Long clean times, not clean, not realiable

Bad – As a design engineer for over 20 years, I'm pretty particular with our purchase decision and treat our products with respect and care; not the demographic of an average purchaser. Even still, some of the design elements of this product are not acceptable for anyone and we will cease purchasing this brand. This manufacturer needs to realise that it… Read more

takes a long time to win back a customer and quick to lose one especially on reliability/quality issues. DX403SB Stainless version looks good, light inside handy. The symbols/letters rub of the stainless steel control panel with use. We replaced it once at great cost since the whole fascia assembly (less electronics) is supplied as opposed to the front control fascia only. It's rubbing off again - very annoying that the new part has not been improved. The soap dispenser door catches on the top rack and powder ends up on dishes; we ended up putting the cleaning tabs in the cutlery holder. The door lock can become loose and slightly uncatch during operation which will cut the unit off -worst part of this is that if you don't realise that the LED dashes means that the cycle did not finish, you could be eating off plates that look clean but have not rinsed, therefore caustic detergent residue could be ingested - this is a potential safety issue and should have an indication for wash cycle not finishing to warn users. Like many reviewers, the heater has now failed - hoping it's just the solder joint on relay people have reported as a common issue. I could keep typing but will get RSI... Part prices are ridiculous (I'm however actually okay with paying the service call).

A quiet dishwasher at last! – Manufacturers have claimed for years that their dishwashers are efficient and quiet - not in my experience. Last year I purchased a Vulcan Dishlex one and this really lives up to the Dishhhlex advertisement. Sometimes I get up from the recliner just to make sure it is working - that's how quiet it is! There's never any residue on glassware and the pots come out sparkling clean. The fact that it is extremely quiet

Excellent – Hands down best dishwasher I've used or owned, money well spent. Quiet and washes well what more can you ask from a dishwasher Baskets slide easily even when full. Everything is dry when it is done including tupperware (this is a first in my experience). It can even be loaded full and still wash well (also a first in my experience) Wash cycle is… Read more

long - but at least there is a timer to tell you how long is left. This is a problem I have found with all dishwashers previously I guess this one is highlighted as it tells you exactly how long it will take

Terrible – VERY disappointed - Dishlex used to be a good brand but not any more. Our last dishwasher was a Fisher and Paykel and this was much better - sorry we got a new one. Is there a good dishwasher out there now???? Nothing. Perhaps the look. Breaks down. Doesn't clean dishes properly. Doesn't dry any plastic item. I have to dry them all by hand.

Excellent – Tremendous value compared to the Asko's, Miele's and Bosh's of the world. And being made in SA you know the parts are here and the likelihood is that any dishwashing repair guy knows how it works. Excellent, my first dishwasher and I am not going back. Drought level 5 restrictions here and i found myself hand washing in absurd amounts of water… Read more

and starting to eat from dodgy egg smelling cutlery. So with no. 2 on the way (bub) I thought buggered if I have to get home from work, make dinner AND wash up (yes i am the bloke) so dishwasher was the go. In subtropical environment my local cockroaches would disable the Asko, the Bosch is overpriced and a co-worker has a lemon, and in the end do I really want a dishwasher to last me 20 yrs, no way, i doubt we'll even be washing with water then. So this was the go, got it for $960 cause I know they are the "old" model now. Love the cutlery tray i thought was only found in Meile's. Tad noisey sometimes, it would be nice to be able to cancel out the beeps for when it ends its cycle, and i would have preferred a manual child lock on the handle. The toddler has not got into it yet but it's a peace of mind thing.

Washes are great and if something doesn't come off it comes off pretty quick afterward under the tap. (I guess that's why it has a pots and pans wash function)

Excellent – Without exception it is the best dishwasher I have ever owned, I replaced a fisher pakel which was awful! Quiet, great cutlery baskets & rack for large items. Wine glass racks, internal light for loading, no exposed element, easy to remove filter for cleaning.

Excellent – I am a grandmother and this is only my second dishwasher, the first being an old one which was in this house when I purchased the property. I love this new dishwasher and feel 100% happy with my choice. Just wish I had it years ago when all my children were small... I have no hesitation in recommending it -- it is Quiet, Economical to run,… Read more

Efficient and does a good job, and Good Value for money. I chose this Model because of the cutlery tray at the top which enables the clean cutlery to be removed by the handles.

All makes of Dishwashers come with a cutlery basket which I consider unhygenic as the items have to be removed by the part which goes in the mouth when eating.

Therefore, I have removed this cutlery basket, giving me more room for casserole dishes, etc.

The fold-down tynes are also handy.

The cups sit at a slight angle so there is less water in their indentation than in my old dishwasher where the cups sat level. Hint: Unpack the bottom shelf first, then any drops of water from the cups does not wet items below.

The Economy Cycle gives me good results: I scrape plates well, use Morning Fresh Dishwashing Powder and Rinse Aid, then give the load time to dry before removing from the machine.

This Dishwasher is very quiet when in operation.

After five weeks of use, I am very happy with my $985.00 purchase from Retravision. Have not found any yet.

Good – Great product, I'd buy another of this brand in a flash. It's dependable to do a good job. I especially like the quick wash cycle. Everything about the dishwasher is good I've had totally great results with it. It does a great job and no spots if I use a rinse aid. It uses a whole lot of water, which is a problem in this time of restrictions. It sometimes gets a bit of a stale smell inside but those products for dishwashers keeps it fresh.

OK – I am impressed with it,would not have paid the $1300 price tag one store wanted or the recommended price but in the end I was very happy with the deal I received. Okay this is my first dishwasher, purchased on 13th September 2004. I'm very impressed with the washing, the glasses and cutlery come out sparkling and my stainless steel pots are as well. The water staying in the bottoms of the cups and anything else that has a lttle dip.
