Dorf Kytin

Impressive warranty claim service – We had a Dorf Kytin single-lever gooseneck mixer installed in our kitchen as part of the inclusion of the new home, amongst other luxury-grade Caroma/Dorf mixers, taps and showers. Three years later, it started leaking from where the neck meets the housing. Contacted GWA bathrooms and Kitchen, the parent company of Dorf and was asked to email… Read more
photos of the issues and proof of purchase, which I did the same day and the next day I got a call back from them, acknowledging the issue and offering me a replacement. Because this model has been discontinued, a couple of options were given to me and I received the chosen option by post last week. All up, it took them 7 days to rectify the issue. I find this very impressive and thanks to the two people who dealt with my complaint and resolving it within such an impressive timeframe. Thanks, GWA Bathrooms and Kitchen for standing by your warranty promise and restoring my faith in an otherwise beautifully designed product.
Dorf Kytin and Milan taps leak soon after installation – I had the Kytin and Milan tap ranges fitted in a new house. Taps started dripping within 2 years. Replacement cartridges seem unavailable. I am in the process of replacing every set of taps with other brands. I cannot recommend the Dorf products (appears to be part of the Caroma range) based on my personal experience. Show details
Don't buy it!! – No even 8 yrs and we are on our 2nd cartridge for the Dorf Kytin double mixer, it wasn't cheap in the beginning then the drips began, replaced the cartridge not cheap. And now 2-3 years later the drips have started again! Maybe not replace the cartridge this time replace the whole unit but WON'T be buying Dorf!!! Not Happy!!! Show details
Trouble with drips – too hard to find replacement ceramic discs. keeps leaking (on the hot side). Hard to turn the tap to different parts of the sink (keeps sticking) even though I pull it apart and put vaseline in there.
ceramic discs *!!! – I am in the same boat as the other buyer. After 5 years the discs are not available from Dorf & had to be purchased through K&R plumbing chain at over $100. Water "in" quality is good being rainwater & filtered. Better to go to Bunnings & buy a cheaper unit. Previous taps were probably 30 years old & you changed fibre washer every 3 years whether it needed it or not (cost 30cents)
Running cost is too expensive – I bought a Dorf Kytin Sink Mixer Double Lever tap with model number 2532.044a in 2009 and it started leaking a few weeks ago. I contacted Dorf's after sale service and they claim that the tap I bought carries 5 year warrantee so it is out of warrantee. I had an impression that the one I bought carries a 7 year or 10 year warrantee (the new ones on… Read more
market now carry 15-year warrantee) but I don't have the package anymore. The cartridges cost around $100 a pair and they carry 1 year warrantee. If my memory is wrong and the after sale service is correct, then Dorf's products don't deserve the price you pay, so I give a two star for the product as all other cheap taps in my house have served us more than 13 years and are still going on well. If my memory is correct, then it only deserves one star since the after sale service is hopeless, on top of the poor quality product! In conclusion, Dorf does not deserve the price you pay and the running cost is expensive (expensive cartridges and expensive plumbing).
