Dorf Vixen Retractable Sink Mixer Chrome

For the price its good. Nice looking but the install is very difficult and awkward if you don't have a lot of room – Had this for just over two years. For the price its nice and looks quite good in my opinion. Pull out hose comes out smoothly and fits back up into the spout with thanks to a rubber o-ring. Benn using it for over two years now. Overall a good tap with rather excellent waterflow for 4 star water rating. Now for the bad, the chrome plating on the… Read more
handle is starting to chip off the handle, but that may have been my fault or the kids. No leaks like other reviews on here, well ones that weren't the plumbers fault (tightened nearly everything by bloody hand) just had a small inlet hose leak, easy fixed but required the painful removal of the whole tap again.
Overall, considering it gets used daily and other than a minor leak over time with thanks from the dodgy plumber, I'd recommend the purchase, but maybe bear in mind others that have had leaks with the black pull out hose. If it's installed correctly, I believe the black pull out hose will last you years and wont leak, just make sure it goes up and down smoothly after it's been installed.
It's a good looking tap and ok for the money – Had it 6 years and the pull out hose has just split which is not covered by warranty - fair enough we do use it constantly! It looks great and has a pretty good reach into the sink from our stone benchtop. The connection between the hose and the pullout handpiece leaked quite a few times so th water runs back up the arm and down into the… Read more
underneath cupboards flooding our kitchen - last time it did this I tightened it with stilsons and it didnt leak after that. Two main things I did not like about this tap - is it only swivels 180 degrees side to side, not 360 degrees which means you can only locate the tap control to the side - not at the front. With the control at the side our stone bench was always wet and splashed. The other thing is the inner parts of the tap really restrict the water flow - we removed all of the waterwise filters etc and the water flow was still only passable. It's supposed to be 4 wels stars with is low but we felt for us it operated like a 7 star tap with poor water pressure.
Faulty Design – We purchased the Dorf Vixen mixer tap a couple of years ago expecting it to last out it's 15 yr warranty period (after all at around $350 it is not a cheap tap). However the extension hose has a weight on it with sharp teeth. These have punctured the hose and the resulting leak has gone right through to our ground level floor and marked all the ceiling. We are not at all happy and would not recommend this tap. Show details
Bad Leaking Problem – I have just suffered the same problem where the fabric hose has sprouted a small leak near the pull out nozzle for some time and I didn't think much of it until I realised it had been badly leaking all the way down the hose underneath and has now damaged my cupboards. Also about 2 years old. Show details
Expensive & Overrated mixer – The plastic outlet flexible hose burst but we were not aware of it until the next day. The kitchen & mixer were only 2.5 years old. Our kitchen cupboards were ruined due to swelled carcasses. Went back to place of purchase and were told that they couldn't do anything for us, but, we were not the only people to suffer with burst hose problem. Company tries to save $1 for a cheaper hose and in doing so cheapens its reputation. Show details
No replacement parts – Bought the Vixen from Bunnings, after 14 months the extension flexible hose started to leak. Bunnings wouldn’t help me as I couldn’t find my receipt, so I contacted Dorf directly about the problem. I was told, we don’t have spare parts, sorry for your inconvenience. Why aren’t they offering a replacement considering the product has a 15 year warranty? I don’t recommend this company or it’s products. Show details
No install kit in box, no spare parts available – Never had an install kit in the box. Dorf don't supply spare parts for their products, and the retailer couldn't help because I had misplaced my receipt during the renovations. Luckily a few zip ties helped with the install, but I am still missing parts. No response to my email about parts either, I had to call a week later and follow up.

Also, Dorf says there are no spare parts to fix it. And the hose only has a 12 month warranty. Without the hose the tap is not able to function.
