Avoid this brand of tyre ! – Due to the covid 19 , my vehicle hasn’t run for a while , recently get it back on duty , left front tyre has a big bubble on it , two weeks later the right front tyre burst straight away on the freeway ! Fucking ridiculous tyre !
No much grip on it, poor quality and dangerous in the rain! – I Had them brand new on my van, did the tyres rotation, I've only done 25.000kms so far, no much life left on it. As I read on other comments, Yes they are dangerous in the rain, no much grip on it, I've had a couple bad experiences on the wet weather, however I'm not sure if I had the (DU01)high performance ones fitted. Rubbish 5 year old tire exploded on freeway – My wife has these in her horse float and I have always suspected that they were a poor quality tire. Well today, my suspicion was proven correct with a tire explosion on the freeway at 110 km/h. Lucky we didn’t injure any horses. Doublestar is a Chinese brand. Show details
Doublestar rubbish – Tyres manufactured in early 2015 but only purchased a little over two years ago and only used for 12 months. Not used for the past 12 months due to coronavirus restrictions. Fitted to a caravan. See photo of shredding at 110 kph. Very lucky I had time and place to pull up. Show details
Shocking in the rain – Cheap tyres alright when dry a little noisy, but in the wet very little breaking and round about in the rain no traction. Would say very dangerous in wet weather. Show details
Terrible Terrible Tyres – Bought a car they were on. The previous owner told me they were brand new. They also looked brand new. Anyway, they’re the worst tyres I’ve ever driven on. In the dry, it’s like I’m driving in the wet. In the wet, the car feels like it’s on roller skates. Just down right rubbish and dangerous tyres. Wouldn’t even ever put them on my car for free. In fact, I’m getting them changed out as soon as possible. Show details
Not Good – I just changed a whole set of Doublestar just over a year old to GoodYears this morning, the tread was half gone. They perform dangerously, not good at all in the wet, they slide on round a bouts, spin outs are common in wet conditions and uphill starts and even in dry conditions I have the odd spin out with the front wheels I drive with a young… Read more
family so I'm cautious but on these it happens regardless, braking you will need extra room in the wet, had one tyre go dead flat in a shopping centre last week with no signs of damage to the tyre or rim so changed the whole set, thankfully my spare is a Bridgestone and the guy at Bridgestone was scratching their head as to how that could happen. Doublestar is dangerous in my opinion don't install these on your family car if you need a cheap tyre because of a tight budget try Goodride tyres I never had a problem with them. These are the worst tyres I have ever driven on and haven't felt safe driving with them.
Cheap price, great quality – Was initially worried as the price seemed to good to be true, but these tyres are great value for money. We ordered them through tyroola and delivery was very quick. These tyres have been used for 4 months with multiple long distance trips and still look almost new. Would definitely buy these again, and I will when I need new tyres! Show details
Slippery – Get what you pay for. I previously reviewed these tyres as excellent but that was before I had really tested them in the wet. Since then I have had a number of scary moments, either the back sliding out on roundabouts or the front dangerously understeering. All this while driving slowly whilst other cars just wiz past me. Even though they had… Read more
plenty of tread left on them and I had gotten over 30000 km out of them I had to get rid of them for my family's safety.
