Dr.Hauschka

So grateful to Dr Hauschka for supporting my skin and soul – I started to use Dr Hauschka skin care products in the 80s because the integrity of the production (by hand in Germany with biodymnamic and organic plants) really appealed to me. I had no idea it would be such a wonderful life support for me, not only a skin support. I started out with the cleanser, toner and light moisturiser and learned the different application approach to protect my skin. No rough or strong removal of natural skin mantle protections. Then as I have aged (!) decades, I started to use the richer moisturisers and face masks as I grew older and my skin changed and needed them. This winter I have relied heavily on the Rose Day Moisture Cream, a rich protective cream which does not cause me any reaction or rashes...I have very sensitive pale skin and it is dry. Previous face masks and moisturizers from other well known brands have reacted with my skin and made it red and blotchy. The Hauschka products, even the very rich deeply moisturizing ones don't cause me any discomfort or reactions...and I have had no allergies or rashes... which is a bit of a miracle becasue my skin is ultra sensitive. I decided to write this review because I have had many years of skin nurture and enhancement from Dr Hauschka but it was recently when my 94 yo mother was nearing the end of her life that I discovered the full extent of the nurture. My mother during the last fortnight of her life expressed a wish to be surrounded by roses, which was logistically a bit tricky to manage in her nursing home bed. However, I did get the Sage Bath and the Rose Body Oil and each day she was washed with the sage bath by her nurses, in her bed. She was massaged with Rose Body Oil all over and it has a glorious real rose essence and delicate perfume of real roses. In her last week, I did this twice a day. After she passed away, we bathed her in the sage liquid bath soap, wich has a wonderful fresh perfume and refreshes and purifies (I believe, based on my experience with my mum). Then we annointed her from head to toe, twice, in the hours after she passed away, with Rose Body Oil. It seemed like a wonderful blessing for her at this time...and a support for both of us. The perfume was subtle and divine. My mother left the planet like a queen. I am still using The Rose Body Oil now, daily after I bathe, as it is the most heavenly and nurturing body oil and the perfume is really appealing. I hadn't tried it and was motivated by my dear mum, and her wish to be surrounded by roses. The first time I used it in her memory, later in the day someone complimented me on my perfume and I said "I am not wearing any" and didn't realize til later that they must have meant the rose oil, which is so subtle you forget you are wearing it, because it is a body oil not a perfume.

These Hauschka products, all of them I have tried, are sublime: there is no other word for them that is apt and truly describes the refined quality they bring to the user's skin and energy. The colour of the lipsticks and cheek colours are also very, very subtle. Today I tried a lipstick I would not have thought I could wear (I am a redhead) in the orange-ish range...but it melded and adapted somehow to my skin tone so it suited me, as did the lip liner that was in the same colour. I use an eye shadow on my white eyebrows.

I love these products after all these years. I would not use anything else on my skin ever. They do really way more than care for my skin. I have moved on from the ordinary mascara of my youth to a thickening one, which I can remove with water... and my now thinning and shortening lashes are glorously plumped and lengthened. I am incredibly grateful that I can buy Dr Hauschka products in Australia!

A mascara that doesn't irritate – I've been trying different mascara's for years as my eyes get very irritated and dry and recently tried Dr Hauschka mascara. The results have been wonderful, great looking lashes and no irritated eyes. I like that it doesn't cause me discomfort
