parts broken in 2 years, spare parts from Dyson incorrect – Purchased 2019 as soon it was available in Australia. In 2 years, the main red power button was broken. Reported to Dyson and they replaced the main body. At 3 years many of the wheels in the main motor head were worn. I ordered replacement wheels as advised by Dyson, replacement wheels didn't fit and were the wrong part number despite being… Read more
"confirmed" to be the right parts. Dyson then provided a replacement motor head. At 4 years after little use, the wheels on the soft roller head were worn. The button on the replacement main body is now intermittent. I'm unable to get any more free replacements from Dyson as the warranty has expired.
My mum has an old DC30 bought around 2012 that is still working well. The most recent models don't appear to last as long as the older models.
Usage was about twice a week.
Beware when ordering parts with Dyson, ensure all communication is in writing.
Another great product by Dyson – Recently upgraded from the v10+ animal to the v11 and the suction is even more powerful which is great. I find the machine to be quieter than the v10. Love the LCD screen although not an absolute must. Seems like a nice solid build. Our house is vinyl with carpet in the bedrooms and the amount of dirt that it picks up especially from the carpets… Read more
is nothing short of amazing. We don’t have inside pets but I’m sure it would do a great job for them. Would definitely recommend this machine to anyone.
Trigger problems since we bought it – We had our Dyson V11 for 2 years and the trigger stopped working. Dyson replaced it with an entire motor set. Move forward another 2 years and we are having the same problem again......trigger faulty. This is definitely a Dyson design issue and seems to have turned people off the Dyson brand. We have laminate hybrid flooring and initially it was great on this floor, the suction seems to have also waned. Show details

Some issues but otherwise fantastic vacuum – I bought my Dyson V11 Complete Pro directly from Dyson in August 2020. At the time, it was on special and included a Dok (that's how the product name is spelt, it's an upright charging dock). Since then, I have used the vacuum multiple times a week around the house, which is mostly wood and carpeted in the bedrooms. While I've encountered some… Read more
significant issues with the vacuum over the last (almost) 2 years, Dyson Support have been very helpful in getting these resolved.
I'll start with the issues: - The mechanism to empty the bin involves pushing a red lever, which shoots out the bin contents. Approximately a month after purchase, the bin suddenly had trouble releasing. I had to apply a lot of force to the red lever to get it to open, often so much that I thought I might break it. I called Dyson support, and after some simple troubleshooting steps, they promptly sent out a replacement bin. This unfortunately did not fix the issue, so a couple of months later I called Dyson support again and they sent out a replacement main body. Since then, the issue has not re-emerged. Great support! - Approximately a year after purchase, the battery began holding far less charge than when I originally purchased it (Note: This may be related to my next point below about the dock). I contacted Dyson Support and they promptly sent out a new battery. Again, great support! - The V11 'Dok' can be a bit frustrating. When I place the vacuum into the dock, it should start charging the vacuum, but that's not usually the case. The charging cable (which is fed into and held by the dock) doesn't always make contact with the charging port on the vacuum, which means I always have to push the vacuum down on the dock or try to reposition it so that it makes contact. Sometimes I forget to do that, which means the vacuum won't charge. Other times, I walk past the dock to find the vacuum is rapidly jumping in and out of charging mode, which ironically seems to drain the battery instead. I've tried to release and re-feed the charging cable into the dock, but this hasn't made any difference. This issue, unlike the others, is something I've just learnt to live with.
Now, the good stuff: - As far as Cordless Stick vacuums go (and I've used many of them in the past, both Dyson and other brands), the V11 does its job exceptionally well. Whether I'm using it on wood or carpet surfaces, I've yet to find dirt or debris that the vacuum has any trouble picking up. I've never felt the need (not once) to switch to 'Boost' mode, because 'Auto' performs so well. - I use the included soft-roller head for wood because I'm worried about potential scratches or marks that the standard head may leave, and in this regard it works very well. It hasn't left a single mark or scratch on my hardwood floors. - I love the LED screen (which none of my past stick vacuums have had). It lets me know how quickly I'm draining the battery and this ensures the vacuum doesn't suddenly conk out. - When I'm using the standard head on carpet, the V11 takes less than a second to realise I'm vacuuming carpet and kicks up the suction accordingly. Likewise, once I move off the carpet, it immediately switches back to normal suction. I can't fault how quickly it's able to do this. - The 'V11 Complete Pro' came with a bunch of tools. I've used most of them and they give the vacuum versatility, like using the mini-head to vacuum my mattresses, pillows and couch cushions (On a side-note, I'd encourage everyone to do the same. You may be shocked with how much comes out).
In summary, the V11 is a fantastic vacuum and I have zero regrets with my purchase. While I encountered some issues with the vacuum, the support I received from Dyson was nothing short of commendable. It may be the best post-purchase support I've ever received on a product and I think that deserves a 5 star review. Thank you Dyson.
Absolute convenience – The best vaccum I have ever used. Absolute convenience of use. My living room is laminated and my bedrooms are carpeted, and I dont have any problems in using the dyson. I don't have to change my attachements as the vauccum glides through from room to room with ease. Very efficent battery, with a single charge I can use for my enitre house. Would definietly suggest. So convenient – Always ready to go battery last weeks. Use it to clean tiles and does this well with power head. No leads definitely best we have ever owned. Everything just clicks together typical Dyson Show details
Worked great until it stopped! – Worked perfectly until it stopped working, sent yo Dyson, no comms from them it was just returned!! Still not working like it was before it stopped working, very expensive machine that does not deliver. Customer service is non existent! Show details

Excellent vacuum cleaner and insanely good customer service – We use this in our two storey (4 bedroom) house It gets the cleaning done well beyond our expectations and is also quiet (<70 decibels) in eco mode. I had a minor issue with the fluffy head and Dyson sent out a néw one without fuss. Battery life is more than adequate (lasts 70 minutes in ECO mode) The only time I wish for a bigger battery is… Read more
while cleaning the car in boost mode, but even then the 10 minutes is usually just enough. It is a little on the larger size but nothing you can’t get used to over a period of time If you have a larger place, I also recommend getting a trigger lock (Available on eBay or Amazon for $10 which lets you keep the button pressed) The bin empty system is a godsend, and strangely fun. I empty the bin even when I don’t have to. All in all a good vacuum cleaner and Dysons customer service is almost shockingly good.
Dyson sucks (in a good way) ;-)
Makes Cleaning Easier – I love my updated Dyson Stick Vac. With more options for cleaning different surfaces I can't fault it. And a bigger drum to catch the dust means you don't have to empty it as often. Show details
Battery problems after 6 weeks left it on charge all night and still showing only 70% & no power to my Pro & a friends ! – Carpet & hard floor use . It works great when it works but my concern is 6 weeks for a problem to occur like this is absolutely ridiculous and such a inconvenience. Show details
Appalling customer service – You can only purchase Dyson V11 complete pro from Dyson direct online. There was no problem with the dispatch which was done immediately but it’s been over two weeks to get from Sydney metro to Melbourne metro. Auspost parcel tracking indicates it arrived at Melbourne AusPost next day but now it appears to have been mislaid so I am left with… Read more
nothing & a hole in my bank account. Two calls to customer service have left me frustrated and annoyed as Dyson can’t offer me a satisfactory solution. Customer service advises they can’t issue a refund until parcel is found because they need to have the vacuum back before they can refund. Dyson will lodge an investigation with Australia Post so I’m left waiting again with nothing to show for my payment. Another point is the warranty starts from day of purchase even though I don’t have possession of the vacuum. Not good enough.
Fantastic Vacuum Cleaner, but – I love this Vacuum cleaner. All the nozzles are versatile for all cleaning purposes and the 3 different powerheads are functional that come with the Complete Pro version. The suction on this cleaner is truly amazing and on High, it picks up sand and fine dirt that even my Dyson Barrel could not manage to suck up. You can really see and feel the… Read more · 1
difference on the vacuumed surfaces too. It's great that you can see how long you have left on each of the power modes and it allows you to finish the job accordingly. There is enough power in the V11 to do a 2 Bedroom Villa with extra suction used on a large area rug, and the remainder being hard flooring where I use the Medium power mode. I have used it on the car interior, and there was enough power to complete the job on a small SUV, using the highest level suction on most of it. Emptying the barrel is exceedingly easy. I also purchased the Dok stand as I did not want to permanently wall-mount it.
However, there are a couple of gripes I have with it. The large battery unit makes the cleaner quite heavy when using nozzles (when using the powerheads, it's not so bad though as some of the weight is distributed onto them). If I use this unit to fully vacuum the car, for example, I end up with a blister near the top of my thumb due to the weight and movement being on that area and rubbing on a groove on the barrel. A bandaid application fixes it, but still, it is a design problem. It's all due to the fact that you have to keep the trigger depressed the entire time that you use it. It could be resolved by having the option to leave the unit turned on. As it stands I have ordered a product that clips on to the trigger from Amazon to do just this. I don't think that this vacuum cleaner would be suitable for everyone due to the weight and suggest you try it out at a store before purchasing to see if the weight of it might be an issue. For a much larger home, I think this unit would only be good for small/quick jobs as a full recharge takes hours.
The battery unit is replaceable on this Complete Pro model (not sure about other models though) and this is a bonus having this option should the battery fail at some point.
