practice, it appears to spread water across hard floors rather than effectively cleaning them. Given the price of the product, the mop function does not meet reasonable expectations and I would not recommend spending the additional money on it. When I contacted Dyson, customer service repeatedly stated that the product works well instead of addressing the concerns raised, which was frustrating and unhelpful. Overall, this experience has been disappointing and has made me reconsider purchasing products from this company in the future.
Follow-up · Too time consuming. I stopped using this attachment and threw it away. A total waste of money.
I love Dyson products and have had a vacuum for many years. First use of this “rubbish” a part fell off and I had to pack and return the WHOLE thing to Dyson for a complete replacement. The submarine component is utterly useless and does not work at all. Sometimes the water doesn’t come out or the machine comes apart and doesn’t work. It is a complete waste of money and I recommend you just buy a normal mop. Show details

What a joke of a product. Get a normal vacuum. Where do I start? The normal vacuum attachment, can’t suck up too much hair or it will get blocked, this relates to anything that is small and in abundance, like confetti. expect to vaccuum a floor once?) and gets rid of most of the leftover dust so the floor is prepared for the mopping, or in this case, a submarine. Here comes the submarine attachment, which is supposed to act like a mop. Only it doesn’t do even half the job because it hardly makes the floor wet, and you can’t get rid of major stains, only minor ones that are barely visible. As I said, get a real vacuum and use it for vacuuming, get a real mop and use it for mopping. Derr.

The Submarine mop head does not work anywhere what they advertise- misrepresented on their web site- The V15 vacuum function works fine but the extra cost for the Submarine wash/mop head is a rip off. DO NOT BUY DYSON V15S detect Submarine, The mop motorhead is a Con and their facebook support is jerking me around. Shame on Dyson, after 7 or 8 Dyson products over the years of good products, now they are selling junk. Show details

I love the vacuum but the submarine accessory is a waste of time & money, it doesn’t clean floors at all, it just does a light wipe and leaves the floor wet, a paper towel works better. It’s very disappointing. Show details

I've long been a fan of Dyson vacuums and have purchased several vacuums over the last few years and sung their praises to family and friends. So it was with great anticipation that I purchased the V15s Submarine for my new house and was excited to use the mop aspect of it on my large living room tiled floor, when I unboxed it recently. MISERABLY. The roller left streaks on the tiles, I checked the website, checked the paperwork. Use only cold water and no product it said so I did as I was told... FAIL. So, I tried hot water, FAIL, I added vinegar, FAIL. Every attempt left streaks. I contacted Dyson via FB chat, they sent me a new roller, FAIL, nothing changed. Eventually I got to speak with a supervisor. I explained that while I purchased it 18 months ago, I only recently unboxed it when we moved into our new house so it was a brand new appliance and I'd used the mop function only 3 times. Clearly the product did not live up to what it was designed to do. My supermarket mop could do 100 times better. Miss Supervisor, bless her cotton socks, told me the fault was not with the Submarine but with myself (Oh obviously Miss Supervisor!). I must not use it the way I use a normal mop, in other words, don't go back and forth but just drive it forward and then change position and drive it back the other way on a different path. Thank you Miss Supervisor for ensuring I was going to achieve my 10,000 steps in one mopping session! Miss Supervisor even hinted that perhaps it was not suited to tiled floors to which I asked the lovely Miss to show me in the product manual or on Dyson's website where it stated that, because had I known that, I would not have purchased this sad, sad appliance and if there was no such statement by Dyson then I was mislead and would like a resolution. Miss Supervisor said she would find it and email me the information. Poor Miss Supervisor must have been so busy telling other customers they were doing it wrong that she didn't get around to emailing so I read the product manual from front to back and searched high and low for the information that the submarine may not be suitable for tiled floors but, alas, that declaration was missing, as was Miss Supervisor's follow up. Dyson, I still love your stick vacs but seriously, just take this submarine thing OFF the market because it doesn't do what you created it to do.

Dyson V15s - A Good Vac – This is my fifth Dyson stick vacuum and with each model they improve. suction is very good and forward and back is adequate to pick up all particles. The unit came with an upright stand, it is a bit flimsy and I would have preferred the wall mount charging dock. The battery life is an improvement on my V10, I dont have any carpet so I cant comment on carpet performance. I viewed a number of Youtube videos on the submarine attachment, this is not a wet and dry vacuum, there is no suction via the submarine attachment, it collect any particles and water in the submarine attachement, frankly I was suprised at some of the Youtube videos comparing the unit to wet and dry vacs, sucking up plates of spilt porridge, mounds of dirt and bowls of corn flakes, this attachment is simply for cleaning smooth floors, the wet roller runs over the floor and dirty water is squeezed into the waste collection, it cleaned adequately and the amount of effort and results was similar to my steam mop and left the same amount of water on the floor, filling and cleaning the submarine head is fiddly. I found the inbuilt crevice tool very hand and easy to use.
Good Vacuum but Wet roller does not remove stain! – Since I’m on a review spree, I thought I give my opinion on the new Dyson v15 detect submarine. I bought this when it came out last year and paid $1,549. The vacuum is very good, sucks up all the dust particles and dog fur very well which I love, however the wet roller does not remove stains or anything. It just glides on the floor and makes it wet pretty much. It’s also hard to get the water out of the fluffy mop and takes awhile for it to dry. Show details · 1
Great vacuum cleaner – I've never really been a fan of dyson until now. The v15 detect vacuum with the submarine head is great. Best investment ever!!! – I’ve had v15 submarine for over a month and I have to say its the best investment I’ve ever made!! upstairs and hard floors downstairs). I can get the whole house done in one charge. A bit about the vacuum: It come with various attachments. My favourite is the fluffy optic cleaner head!!!! It cleans hard floors with a green light that detects all the tiny particles that are invisible to the naked eye. Again wow. Love this tool! There’s the Motorbar cleaner head for carpets. Compared to my previous Dyson, it is pulling so much dust from the carpets that I’m shocked. I’ve noticed my dust allergies improve since I bought this vacuum. Plus if I’m in a hurry I can quickly use it on hard floors as well. Then there’s the Submarine head! I initially tossed with the idea of getting the v15 absolute detect instead of the v15 absolute detect submarine (which is the v15 plus the submarine head) but I ended up buying the submarine because it was on sale at the time. Compared to my previous Eufy wet n dry vac, again the cleaning is so good! While i have to vacuum first and then use the submarine head, I definitely prefer it this way because the cleaning is miles better! There are never any streaks left behind (hard floors or tiles) and and if find that I’ve gone over an area more than once and it’s wet, I simply roll the vacuum over it without turning it on and it dries up right away. Plus the clean up of the vacuum afterwards is a breeze. Just put the roller under running water and that’s it! It also comes with a drip tray, which is where I leave the submarine head once I’m done using it. The vacuum comes with several other smaller tools. There’s the hair screw tool which I’ve regularly been using on my fabric and velvet sofas. It works amazingly! There’s also a combination tool which is great for the car. And the built in crevice tool to get in small narrrow places. I love that Dyson have it built into the main vacuum stick so you don’t have go looking for it when you need it. Simply take off the main stick and use it quickly. Finally the floor dock. Love this feature because all the tools can stored on it while the vacuum charges and I won’t be misplacing any of them. In terms on clean up the vacuum, besides the fluffy, everything can be opened up and washed easily. The only negative: My hand does get tired from having to hold the power button while vacuuming. I wish Dyson had put a power button on the display screen instead. That said, I’ve done some research and there are several cheap options to buy a trigger lock so I don’t have to keep the button pressed down while vacuuming. Il be ordering one soon. All in all, an amazing product that I would highly recommend!
