Batteries keep failing – High price but batteries continue to fail. They are supposed to have a 2 year warranty but in my experience they fail about every 6-8months. Cute thing is when they replace the battery you do not get a full guarantee but just what is left on your original guarantee from purchase, i.e after the initial 2 years you are looking at paying $140 every… Read more
6 months or so just to keep it working. Definitely not value for money. Have had a number of Dysons and quality has plummeted. Lots of competitors in the market now and suggest you try them as Dyson are resting on their laurels.

Range topping Dyson V7 with a 40 minute battery – The V7 takes the backache out of vacuuming. For nearly 1.5 years, I cleaned (with the second gen V7) houses ridden with fine dust, pet dander, pet hair and so on… and mess after mess. Only around 15-18 months did I need to service the floor head. Keep in mind (with the intensity of cleaning) just how impressive this is. I was well aware before I… Read more · 1
bought this of the power of cordless Dyson's and so my expectations were cautious. But it didn’t let me down.
V7 EVOLUTION While this is the third incarnation of the model, Dyson initially had a V7 without a HEPA filter (grey top) before later adding a purple/blue HEPA filter. If you suffer from allergies or asthma etc, with the filters offered, it made sense to buy a V7. These days, it has a silver cyclone with an easier to access filter (star shaped) and an improved motorbar with de-tangling vanes. Like the V8, the V7 Advanced model has a 40 min battery plus 3 lights, exclusive to this machine.
CLEANING / MAINTENANCE If you clean your machine and maintain it as per Dyson's support, in terms of technology and performance, it’s impressive how far they will go and how much they will do. For example, wash your filters, use max power sensibly when needed, remove blockages and tap the cyclone to dislodge fine dust when emptying the bin.
HEPA FILTRATION On earlier V7s, only the Animal pro had a HEPA filter. The newer V7s swapped the grey top for a purple/blue HEPA filter. Trapping 9.99% of microscopic particles such as allergens, pollens, skin cells and pet hair (down to 0.3 microns) fancy words are matched by vacuuming actions, testified to by your bin, cyclone and filter when cleaned.
TOOLS This Advanced Origin model features a combination brush tool, which is excellent for gathering debris from surfaces, the car or pet stations, pillows, stairs and so on. It is also good for light brushing over smaller areas; this is terrific for clearing allergens, as disposing of these straight away rather than spreading the dust into the air or onto the floor and then vacuuming is a great option. Best still, no Dyson vacuum is better than a V7, V8 or V12 for this, as while the others may have stronger suction, they aren't as light. Be sure to look at other tooling options (purchase separately) offered if you want a specific solution -- e.g. a mattress tool, a soft dusting brush for keyboards etc. For example, cleaning a deep cupboard to remove debris and dust will work with a combi tool, but a crevice tool will provide the length and reach you need.
FLEXIBILITY Since I was a kid, cleaning at a friend of my dads with a upright Dyson was in the blood, but admittedly I wasn’t going to be able to do multiple houses with it. So the cordless V7 was a game changer for professional cleaners. Skirting, surfaces, draws, floors… you name it! The V7 enabled cleaners to work independently without lugging a brilliant but behemoth vacuum around.
PARTS AND LABOUR Buy new as well; parts and labour are covered for a year and an additional one if you register.
SUMMARY If you are taking your first cordless steps, the V7 offers lightness, flexibility and solid power. If you only have a small place or the kids have moved out, rather than the extra power and battery of the V8, the V7 may better suit your needs. Coupled with the HEPA filtration for health, the ease of use and the flexibility as a handheld, this remains a sound cordless vacuum that is a must try.
Should Have Returned it – Have Persevered with this for 8 months now, after Recharging every 7 minutes of use.. it needs to be used on full power if you want it to be of any use. I should have Returned it as Not Suitable for Purpose.
Not happy with Dyson advanced V7 – Purchased the Dyson Advanced V7 stick vacuum approximately 15 months ago & I find it won't keep charge for very long, gets blocked easily, having to empty it more often than not, poor quality compaired to the V6 animal, which did a good job lasting me over 6 years without a problem, plus you need to buy extra parts for the V7, as the V6 parts will… Read more
not fit V7, does a quick vac, but forget dog fur, it gets stuck in the top of the stick all the time, would not buy again, will buy a different brand next time
It is such a shame that I spent nearly $500 on a piece of crap!
Started great… now not so great! – Purchased our first ever Dyson 14 months ago & now it’s battery only last 10-15mins on max and the motor heats up while vacuuming, which is right above the handle so my hand feels the heat. Is this a common issue? Do I have to replace the whole thing???? Show details

Budget entry Dyson handheld vacuum. Great performance with limited battery life – As title suggested, this V7 version is great! It has powerful suction, However, it basic or limited battery life. I got this handheld for my birthday/ house warming. Pretty happy but next time I will get V10 or V15 instead for longer battery life and extra features. Show details
makes cleaning a breeze! – This is light weight and easily maneuverable. Works really well on my carpets and hardwood floor. Picks up long hair. Attractive looking as well. Doesn't take too long to charge and battery lasts satisfactory. Came with a small brush head which makes it great for cars and sofas. Wish it came with wall mounting options though. Show details · 2
Dyson V7 advanced – Light, easy to use and empty. Carpet and tiles. On thick carpet if I pull backwards it does good. Show details
Was amazed. Great product – It cleans well. Very handy no cords. Very light, no luging around. Works on lounges and under them, also in tiny spaces. Always hated vacuuming. Vacuums that cleaned well always had cords and were bulky and hid in cupboards to come only when you pulled it out. This one cleans well hangs on your wall recharging, so always charged , I find I can clean anything anytime no more spending hours vacuuming. It's so hand, a dream. Show details
Handy vacuum for quick spills – Great little cleaner. The vacuum is great on hard services. We have wooden floors and tiles. The suction is very decent, but cannot suction going in reverse which isn't the best. Battery charge is decent, can't vacuum the entire house. The kids love to use it - they will argue to use it which is great :) Show details
Absolutely love this product!!!! – I love my Dyson , I use it on wooden floors and carpet , I love that I can just grab it and use it , it’s always on stand by and ready to go , and very powerful and cleans everything perfectly, I use it for everything even my windowsills and car , it’s amazing best vacuum ever!!! It's okay for a year – Purchased this bacuume In 2020. Second Dyson I've had and to be honest they just don't live up to the hype if you actually want clean carpet. Very neat assembly, not heavy, can manoeuvre. Neat little kit goes on the wall. However after 2 years the turbo will drain the battery in 5 seconds and after 3 years the battery life will halve, as will the… Read more
suction power. The brushes on the foot wear down to nothing and you are forever untangling hair. I personally will never purchase another Dyson. I will invest in something that lasts longer.

I am impressed!! – I have to say I am impressed!! Coming from a underwhelming dyson v6 that had its battery replaced under warranty after less than 1y. I thought I'd never gey another dyson cordless. I took a leap of faith and grabbed myself a v7 advanced and I was blown away at its performance, battery and suction power. Oh and the hair feature on the head is a… Read more
game changer. All I can say is my old v6 sucks!! I am very happy with my purchase. I love how much dirt it picks up and how I don't have to bring out my old corded dyson out of the cupboard anymore.

Only the good stuff – So I saw this Dyson V7 Advanced Origin model on sale at Kogan online, also at Harvey Norman, and Good Guys, all at $344. What a deal! The Dyson V7 has been around for many years, and continues to be the vacuum of choice at entry level for Dyson, but previously, the regular price was $499 (MRRP), and a bit prohibitive. I for one, could not warrant… Read more
spending that much on a vacuum cleaner, until now. I ordered online 3 days ago, and now, I have a new Dyson, ....admittedly with few accessories, only the motorhead, and a small brush. No crevice tool, and no wall mount. The unit came neatly packed in a plain box, but very secure. I charged the unit before use about 2 and a half hours, until all charge lights were out, and tried it out. The missus is happy, and so am I. No more wrangling with hoses and tubes. No more extension cords and sockets to change......complete freedom to clean from top to bottom.
