Simply superb! – We bought our Ecopot in 2010. The mains power supply stopped working after I left it on overnight in 2024 and the spring on the latch broke a few years ago but the unit as a whole is just fantastic!!! Their thermal efficiency is not as good as the top, more expensive brand, but as long as you can access a power supply from either the car when… Read more

travelling or the mains at home that doesn't matter. I cooked a venison roast tonight using the Ecopot as a sous vide machine and it was superb! Just get one! Just an edit to the above. I purchased a new spring latch from the company and converted a power lead from an old set-top box to provide 240v power. Now it as good as new despite being 15 years old, I wish that some of the other products I have bought over the years were as good!. I really don't understand the negative reviews as my experience has been fantastic, you do need to use the 12v power supply when travelling though as the thermal efficiency is not as good as the Thermos brand but I don't think they even make them now.

Bad customer service – Bought pot from caravan show. Used it successful for 2 years and then the bottom decided to bulge out and can't sit even anymore. Contacted ecopot and they said they could not help as it was out of warranty. Next time we will buy from Aldi.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Great Idea-Saves electricity-Product Quality is rather Questionable – Some days ago, I received the Ecopot with all the accessories that came with the special. After using the Ecopot several time, I found out that the bottom of the upper pot started rusting on various places. Contacting the manufacturer in Australia, I was told that these are food particles and not rust. This is an excuse and does not withstand a… Read more

metallurgical test. I was advised to polish and clean the foodrests off and I did so with the help of a well known cleaning product. It worked partly but the rust parts have deepened and are eaten into the metal. The metal is of very poor quality regardless of what the manufacturer says. I will not use the upper pot again as the rust may enter into the food that is cooking below and contamination can happen. The manufacturer did not answer my second email and ignored my complaint. The company refrained from replacing the faulty pot. (Pictures are attached). As this is only on smaller of the pots and not on the larger pot, I do not care but want to advise persons to be aware about what happened to me. I would not purchase this product a second time.

What did I do wrong? – The silverside after 3 hours was still uncooked. My heart sank! Then I realised all the errors I made. First my silverside was nearly 2 kilos instead of 1 kilo, so logically I should of added more time to the pre-boil, plus I forgot about the steamer on top with veggies and opened lid again (oh boy) after 2 mins to put those in -what was I… Read more

thinking? BIG mistake. There was a whole string of errors. But I didn't give up, that silverside cost me eighteen bucks. So I topped up the fluid and boiled the silverside for further 15 mins then quickly transferred it over to larger pot, closed the lid, and prayed I hadn't wasted good money on a fad. I waited for those 3 hrs to pass. Then the moment of reckoning had arrived! I opened the lid and poked at it. I almost wept - It was perfection! DELICIOUS! And which genius thought to add the magical ingredient of ginger beer? It sweetened the meat without being overwhelming the flavour of the meat. Truly, it was so succulent, I just wish my mother in law was still alive so I could serve her the perfect slice of silverside and prove that I can cook after all. In the briefest words: I'm impressed.

I am no cook however the Ecopot has given me very enjoyable meals – .As my cooking prowess is near hopeless I thought why not give this Ecopot a try.Prior to Ecopot I cooked meals for myself yet would never contemplate another human having to endure my cooking. It is over two years since purchasing my Ecopot from TVSN.I am so pleased I bought the Ecopot as I now look forward to sitting down to a meal.I guess it… Read more

wont cover the total spectrum of meals yet for a less than average cook as myself it has been a revelation. On average I use it once or twice a week as the meals I cook in it give me three or for days of main meals. The product is still in good and sturdy condition. It is really so simple, put the ingredients in bring to boil and simmer for twenty minutes or so then off with the power and into the outer section, leave for four hours or so and, voila, there it is.In my opinion it achieves the results that the distributors state..I recommend this product highly.

It didn't work for me and cost $100 to return – I tried it twice and both times the food was luke warm within 7 hours - the sweet was only partially cooked. I purchased it to prepare an evening meal for my working daughter and her toddler. We live in the Territory so eating luke warm food is too risky. I did contact the suppliers and they had me do a test with boiling water which proved the… Read more

ecopot was working according to standard. They suggested I make the sweet separately but that was one of the main reasons I purchased it - so I could make a main and a desert together. I told them the handle had come off and they said it had 3 years warranty - so I could send it for repair (lol). I found out I could still return it to TVSN as it was still within the 30 day warranty period - but be warned - it cost me $100 to return. I don't have enough room in my small kitchen to keep products that I won't use so the bundle had to go back. I'm left wondering if I gave this product a completely fair trial as I only boiled the main meal for 15 minutes as per the recipe book instructions; and I was advised by the suppliers to boil up to 30 minutes. However, when I found out I was just within the warranty period I decided to return it - perhaps the 30 minutes may have made the difference.

Waste of Money – I purchased this product from a Caravan and Camping show and had not used it until recently travelling in our Caravan. This unit has never been used and has been stored in a cupboard in the van. The bottom of the pot has pulled away from the top and on contacting the Company that sells the pot, was informed that it had been wet and this has caused… Read more

the problem.

The pot has never been used and I am fastidious in the way I look after my goods, so there is absolutely no way this pot has been anywhere near water. It had never been used, so it had not even had a wash!

Very disappointed in the product and the reply from the company concerned. Will be taking this up with consumer affairs. Do yourself a favour and buy something else. Total waste of $150.00.

Easy to use, does as advertised, delicious foods – Bought Ecopot off TVSN after watching the segment many times. One of those "Too good to be true" products. But I'm STILL surprised every time I use it. I have to say I've only used it for meat stews, curries and soups. So have tested it with other things in the recipe book. But it does the stews and soups so well. If you follow the basic… Read more

instructions you can't go wrong. The meat becomes melt in the mouth but things like potato and carrot actually stays in shape and still has bite!! Instead of turning into mush if it was slow cooked on the stove top. And of course the other amazing thing is the fact that you just need 15-30min stove time and then throw the pot in the thermal thing and walk away, no gas/electricity. You can make something the night before and just leave it for next day. I have an onsite caravan and use it there as well. Make something in the morning. Go away for the day and come back to a hot, beautifully cooked meal. 100% recommend it, especially if you love stews/soups and other saucy foods.

Where have you been all my life??????? – Ecopot Package came with the lot, including griddle plate and carry bags for both the induction cooktop and the ecopot! I was so impressed with this fantastic appliance, I bought 2 more for Christmas presents. So easy and ever so convenient, just a quick cook up in the morning, then get on with my busy day, then return to perfect cuisine! If… Read more

Disappointed, have had few successes – Purchased through TVSN after watching their presentation several times and reading reviews. This was very attractive after our huge gas bill and also after burning beetroot several times in a row. I boil the beetroot longer than required but they do not cook fully. In fact I take the inside pot out after a couple of hours and re-boil and… Read more

return to the pot. This results in perfect unburnt beetroot. I have tried the same with other foods but then the pot burns on the bottom. The only success I've really had was in using their recipe for lamb shanks. These cooked quite well (after lengthy boiling on the stove) but they did not keep the heat, they were cooked but not hot enough when served. Runner beans were cooked but not soft. It might work better for soups which I've yet to try. Sometimes I cook a dish, then put it in the ecopot to keep warm while I finish off another dish, this works quite well and saves putting on the oven I will persevere in the hope that I have been missing some point which would make it work like others say it does. Will review again if that happens.

simple but worth it – Purchased at the Mildura outdoor expo this year 2017, got home and just had to try it. Put some chops etc in the big pot followed the instructions and heated, put some damper in the smaller pot that sits in the top and put it all in the insulated container left it a few hours, served it to a happy family, cooked to perfection, will be great when… Read more
