I was very happy with the prompt delivery of my Ecosa Bower Sofa bed. My (Tradesman) husband, who has assembled many flat packs, found it reasonably challenging to assemble. Once assembled, the sofa looks fabulous, and is very comfortable to sit on. However, I find it extremely firm to lie on, and consequently do not sleep well on it. … Read more
I will be buying a mattress topper for it. I enquired from Ecosa, if they make a topper for this product, but was told there is not one specifically made for it. I am now struggling to find one which fits the measurements of the "Bower" exactly. Due to it's unusual design, the Bower is a great fit in my Office/spare room, and the ample storage is great for pillows and doona. SUBSEQUENTLY I found that the Ecosa staff, could have been more helpful in regard to the mattress topper. I know when my son bought a sofa bed from another well none company, he was offered a topper free of charge! However as this was not an option for me I bought one from another company, and the Ecosa Bower, is now both comfortable and attractive.
It's very comfortable for sitting, lying, and sleeping. totally worth the price. Show details · 1
There are a few things in life that disappoint from start to finish, but the Ecosa Bower Sofa Bed is one of them. My wife and I bought this sofa bed, and we regret it dearly—it feels less like furniture and more like something you'd gift to your mortal enemy. Neck strains from sleeping on it, extreme bulkiness making it a nightmare to handle, and… Read more
mountains of unnecessary packaging waste that took two months to dispose of—this purchase was a disaster from every angle.
Sleep quality was a one way ticket to the doctor. This sofa bed cost us two trips to the doctor for anti-inflammatory medicine. The pillows are uncomfortably elevated and rock-hard, while the mattress itself is stiff and unforgiving. Our mum slept on it for two nights and woke up with a strained neck. After days of sleepless pain, we took her to a GP who confirmed it was caused by poor bedding. And if that’s not enough, anecdotally, my cousin and several online users have reported that the mattress indents after six months of use. Buyer beware.
Handling was an engineering feat for all the wrong reasons. This product is so unnecessarily bulky that even simple tasks—like removing the pillowcases for washing or extending the bed—feel like a workout. And I’m an able-bodied man, yet I still strained my neck just trying to extend it for use. Washing the sheets? Dreading it. Extending the bed? Avoiding it.
Assembling was a DIY horror story. Forget the “quick assembly” claim in their video—it’s a nightmare. The sheer bulk of this sofa bed requires a small army to assemble, and in the process, it scratched our walls and sprained a few joints. But the worst part was the ridiculous amount of waste. The packaging was so excessive and unnecessarily bulky that it took us two months to dispose of everything through our large-sized yellow recycling bin, which gets collected once every 2 weeks. Unlike competitors (starting with K), who assemble the bed for you and deliver it hassle-free, Ecosa’s packaging approach is pure laziness.
Fake reviews on their website are highly likely. Curiously, it is hard to leave a review anywhere, including the official website—which makes me question the authenticity of all the glowing ratings. Companies regularly employ bots and fake users to manufacture "genuine" reviews, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Ecosa was doing the same to prop up their image.
I would unequivocally advise anyone reading this: DO NOT trust those website reviews and just buy from another brand. I own three different sofa beds from various brands, and this is the only one I feel like setting on fire. It’s as if the Bower Sofa Bed was created as a cruel social experiment to see just how much marketing dollars can compensate for absolutely terrible product. Either that, or it was designed by an internal saboteur trying to run Ecosa into the ground.
I’m not “sleeping with Ecosa” like their ad says—I’m aching with Ecosa.
Quality sofa bed – Exactly what we were hoping for. The fabric is quality, and you don't need to move the sofa from it's original position to fold out the bed component. The back component sticks out a touch further than we were expecting (an adult man's handwidth), but we got used to that pretty quickly. The foldout can be done with 1 person, but it's not the… Read more · 1
easiest - 2 people is pretty easy. EDIT: Having had for about 7 months, we have found it's easy to fold out with 1 person - you just need to pull from the centre. An elderly or frail person would struggle to do it alone.
Great sofa bed – We purchased this lounge because we don’t have a spare room/bed for guest. We have set this lounge up in the “kids” lounge room. It is very comfortable and easy to pull out and put away. The larger pillows are a little big and push you closer to the edge, however that is an easy fix with using the small pillows as the back rest. I also purchased… Read more

Use it way more than expected – Very comfortable and good value for money. Didn’t think I’d use it as often as I do was bought mainly for visitors staying the night but I use it to read and relax now. Show reply
Super comfortable and easy to assemble – Easy to assemble, comfortable and exactly as described. Works really well - this is another écossa product we have gotten and each of them have held up very well. Show details · 1
Super quick and easy switching between couch and bed – It's definitely more comfortable than other sofa couches I've tried. It's super easy to switch into the bed layout, too. It is probably a bit small if sleeping two bigger people, mainly because of where the join lines up. It's more of a firm bed, and I'd still use dedicated pillows rather than their cushions included. First impressions – This is a very comfortable lounge to sit on. Can't comment on what it like to sleep on because nobody has done so at the moment. Extremely easy to put together. Most of it can be assembled by one person. Love the colour and the fabric. Very good value. Show details · 1
