Really loving the Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed so far! Lots of colour options to match your home vibe, super easy to assemble and use, and even someone with a small build can open and close it easily. It’s also big and comfy enough to lie on like a bed for movie nights. Show details
We absolutely love our Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed. We visited the Carlton store and the team were so friendly and helpful, such a great experience from the start. Delivery was super quick. Couldn’t be happier with, highly recommend.

Almost 6 months of daily use and couldn’t be happier. So much so that we purchased a second one for our fully furnished IP as well. We use it in daybed mode at both places. Very comfortable. Love the firm mattress (use a mattress topper if you find it too firm). The sliding mechanism is very smooth (use beeswax if it isn’t sliding easily). I was… Read more
able to assemble it very easily the 2nd time around after following instructions precisely (which in my excitement didn’t do so with the first one).

We’d been searching for a sofa for a while when we came across the Eva Slideaway sofa bed and it seemed perfect for our lifestyle. It doesn’t take up much space but easily converts into a bed when friends stay over. At first, we were worried it might feel too deep or bulky but it’s actually much more compact than we expected. We’ve been using it… Read more · 1
for over a month now and honestly keep it pulled out most of the time - it’s so compact you don’t want to get up!
We’ve chose the French Linen fabric which feels soft on the skin and we love that the covers can be changed if needed.
One thing to note is that we prefer a firmer mattress so the Slideaway sofa bed is the perfect firmness for us. If you’re after a super soft that you sink into, you might find it a little firm. It’s definitely worth trying in the showroom before you buy.
I was a bit skeptical at first with so many ads online, but we’re really happy we went with the Slideaway sofa bed. I’d definitely recommend it if you want a practical, minimal and low-maintenance sofa bed.
I ordered a second Eva Slideaway sofa for our furnished rental property. Our tenants are just as happy with it as much as we are. Putting it together the second time around was a breeze, managing it single handedly in 2 hours. Show details · 1
When it came to finding a sofa bed for our TV Room, we were on the same page as our interior designer, as both of us really liked the Eva Slideaway. It's a fabulously comfy sofa, and we've had many return guests raving about how comfy it is as a guest bed. We purchased it with the offer of an extra set of cushion covers. This was a win-win as both… Read more · 1
colours work perfectly in the room and they are so easy to maintain and to remove and put on. We've just spotted the side tables and rest assured, Eva, we're going to be getting us two of those!
So happy with this sofa. Very comfortable. Day bed mode is perfect to watch TV and the sofa bed has been a handy option for our space. Show details · 1
Before making the purchase, we compared several brands, including IKEA and Koala. After visiting the showroom in Carlton, we finally decided on the Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed. Assembly was simple, and the cushions have just the right level of firmness—not too hard, not too soft. The removable covers are also washable, which is a big plus. A few weeks… Read more · 1
after our purchase, Eva launched a promotion offering free cushion covers, and they were happy to honour the offer for us.
Love that it doesnt have the bulky traditional sofa bed look and has a nice Scandi vibe. Really comfortable as a guest bed too. Currently in the upstairs landing but considering using it as our main living couch. Show reply

Got this sofa for my own place and liked it so much I bought another for a short-stay apartment. Easy to set up, looks great, and adds two extra guest spots — already paying for itself. Show details · 1
My partner and I were on the hunt for a sofa bed that combined style with functionality, and the Slideaway Sofa Bed has been a great choice for us. It looks fantastic in our living room. We've purchased a few pieces from Eva since moving into our new place, and we've always been impressed with their innovative furniture design, excellent customer service, and speedy delivery! We always recommend Eva to friends and family. Show reply
I’m enjoying my sofa bed very much. I loved putting it together by myself. I’m nearly 70 years old but I managed. The day bed is so comfortable I don’t like getting up. My friend slept overnight and said she was comfortable and slept very well. I love it; I’ve named it Wendy! Thanks for designing such wonderful piece of furniture. Jennifer. The flexibility of the Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed is brilliant. The sliding timber base supports any bed width you want. We were able to get the boxes up a winding narrow staircase into a small loft, then assemble it. Space is tight for a double bed in the loft, so most of the time we leave the sofa made up as a bed for single guests. A 200mm wide… Read more · 1

as they just take up unnecessary room. - there is a gap between the two parts of the mattress and it is awfully uncomfortable to sleep on it.
Humble opinion: it's a nice everyday casual couch.
Follow-up · Pros: - You can actually take out as much as inserts you want from the big cushions!! Love the customisation option. - Cant complain about delivery. - Frame is holding up nicely after 10 months. Cons: - We got a mattress topper you can use for the couch which is super nice and soft but it still wont make the gap go away. Still a nice everyday couch. Not really a great bed.

My advice to anyone considering this sofa bed is to disregard the claims in the promotional video and marketing and measure carefully or go to the showroom to view, to make sure it suits your place. Despite the claim in the marketing video about being suitable for small apartments - this is a huge and bulky piece. As other reviewers have noted,… Read more
the cushions are massive and over stuffed (so much so that we spent additional $ getting an upholsterer to cut down the size of the back cushions. It was disappointing to have to spend more given the cost of this piece.) We originally chose the terracotta covers but when it arrived and we saw the size of it we swapped to a more neutral colour to tone down the bulk of it. This voided the free return period - sad as we would have considered returning it. As well as size, the slide out mechanism is awkward, especially on a mixed rug and hard floor. Far from the the glide out action depicted in the marketing. All in all, I wish we'd done more homework before buying online, as it's been a disappointing purchase.
4.5/5 BRIEF SUMMARY: I've had this sofa bed for around 10 months now and I love it. Pros: Comfortable as both a couch and a bed (it's on the firmer side). Spacious (cushions are thick so I remove them for extra space). Solid construction (good quality materials and design). Looks good. Assembly instructions were simple and easy to follow. … Read more · 1
Cons: The slide mechanism does not slide easily.
Other: While the instructions are easy, actually assembling it was a bit of a wrestle. I'm not listing that as a con because I was assembling it by myself and the instructions do say to have two people assemble it - so it probably is easier with another person (also, I'm an out-of-shape woman in her 30s so your results may vary).

IN-DEPTH REVIEW: I was looking for a sofa bed that would be comfortable as a bed first and foremost, but could be packed away as a couch when people are over. I think a lot of people buying sofa couches have the opposite priority: they are primarily looking for a couch that can double as a bed for guests in a pinch. My review is based on how well it works as a "bed-sofa", not a "sofa-bed".
If you are simply looking for a "sofa-bed" then I can easily recommend this to anyone. If you are looking for a "bed-sofa" then I still believe this is a great product - it's well made and looks good - but how suitable it is for you will mostly depend on your mattress firmness preference. Mattress firmness: Mattress firmness can be hard to describe (every one seems to have their own ideas of what a "true" medium firmness is so it's hard to even find a middle ground) so I'll try my best. I did a quick search of mattress firmness scales, so, using the most common images that showed up on the first page of results,
I'd describe this as about a 7/10 on the firmness scale. (1 being the softest and 10 being the most firm).
It's perfect firmness for a couch, but people who prefer softer mattresses might find it a bit too firm so may need to add extra cushioning like a mattress topper or layer some blankets. If you are someone that prefers a really firm mattress then this might be too soft for you. I've had it for around 10 months now and I sleep on it almost every night and I use it as a couch every day. The firmness of the mattress and cushions has not changed at all in this time from what I can tell. I have it set up like a bed more often than as a couch.
Cushions: The cushions are heavier than I expected and are a similar firmness to the mattress. I thought the level of firmness was perfect for the mattress but I prefer to be able to sink into cushions more than I can with these ones. I tend to use actual pillows on the couch so I just move the cushions off most of the time. They kind of double as extra floor seating when I've got a lot of people over hanging out so they still get a lot of use and no wear and tear yet at all after around 10 months.
The firmness of both the mattress and cushions made it a bit of a wrestle getting them into their covers and they looked a bit odd at first, but they settled into a proper shape within a day or so (might have been within a few hours actually but I don't exactly remember - all I know is that it didn't take too long for them to look like the photos on the website).
Size: The back cushions take up a lot of the depth, especially when it's not extended all the way out. It's fine like that, but I personally prefer to not use the back cushions at all - even when it's just set up like a couch - because you get so much extra room without them.
Sliding mechanism: I've written up a big-old ranty wall of text which might give the false impression that the following is a "huge problem". It's really not. It's an easily fixable inconvenience. It's also the only issue I have with this product. I'm including it to be thorough, to help others who may run into the issue, and to provide constructive feedback to the company.
The construction is a tight-fit and the materials have some decent weight to them: this is a positive because once you put it together it feels very secure, however it's also why I had to wrestle with it a bit to assemble. This tight-fit may explain why it does not slide open and close smoothly. I'm confident that I assembled it correctly because there's barely any wriggle room with the design, and even if I did somehow assemble it slightly crooked it would be the tiniest measurements of difference - so I can see that being an issue even for pairs of people assembling it together. Requiring absolute precision when assembling is a bit much for a product intended to be assembled by the average consumer - however I don't actually think the issue is that it's crooked. It really just seems to be that it's such a tight fit that you have to pull the sliding mechanism out absolutely dead-straight.
Pulling it at even the slightest angle will get it stuck and I then have to struggle to push it back in and try again - and even if I do manage to pull it as straight as possible it is an effort. It's easier when it's not on a rug or carpet, but even on hard flooring it's a struggle. To be clear: it isn't a simple matter of loosening some screws - I'm talking about how close the slats are interlocked which is a fundamental and unadjustable aspect of its design. This is total speculation, but I wonder if climate differences in location of customers and/or during delivery of the product may also impact whether or not a customer experiences this issue (those in colder/drier climates might not experience the issue at all). It's normal for wood to shrink and expand to some degree, so while it looks perfectly fine to my eyes, even the tiniest imperceptible visual difference may have an impact on how smoothly it slides.
I'm definitely not the first reviewer to experience difficulty with the sliding mechanism, so I know it's not just a "me" thing. Many of those reviews also include that after raising the issue they received a wax to apply in-between the sliding slats which solved the problem. Since it is such a common issue I can't understand why that wax is not included with the product by default. It's not even an optional add-on at purchase (or a product available through their website at all). Don't get me wrong, it's great that they provide it to customers for free - but only when they complain. I also know I could simply go to a hardware store and buy some wax to solve the issue myself. However, I don't think your only options should be: a) complain to the company; or b) spend additional money to diy a solution - in order for a product to work as intended.
Over-all construction: Very solid construction. I'm sleeping on it almost every night, using it as a couch almost every day (and I'm a pretty sedentary person so I really do use it a lot). In all this time it has not made a single squeak. I expect it will last a long time as it still looks brand new without me doing anything to take care of it at all. (I do put sheets over it most of the time as I use it as a bed mostly, so that may be helping care for the fabric too - I haven't tried washing the covers yet because I haven't needed to).

I've had the Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed now for almost 3 months. I must say that I have absolutely NO REGRETS! comfortable to lounge in for long periods and this sofa ticked all the boxes and more. The best part is, it fits perfectly into our lounge room without taking over the whole room and is wide enough to still sit two to three people comfortably. We spend a lot of time in "day bed" mode which is why we love this Slideaway Sofa Bed so much! It's so comfortable. We got a set of extra covers as well so we can achieve a different look and colour scheme if we get bored! Best of all, we didn't have to wait months to have it delivered (mostly next day). Although it's pretty heavy for one person to handle, it is quite easy to assemble with two people. It's strong and sturdy and we look forward to enjoying this sofa for years to come!

The Slideaway Sofa bed was a great investment, it lives in day bed mode mostly and we love the flexibility. Beautiful simple construction and we don’t have to be precious with it knowing we can wash or replace the covers easily.
Great couch. A little bulkier than expected. I love the fact that you can change the covers. So many amazing colour options to suit every home colour pallet. I have not used as a fold out bed as yet. Show details
Looks great in our relatively small living room and pulls out smoothly to become a bed/daybed - very comfy for 2-3 people or 4 at a push. Paired with the sidetable, it is a dangerously easy and comfy place to spend a lazy day/evening. Great for guests as well. No complaints. Show details

This slidedaway sofa is beautifully designed and looks lovely. The oak is stunning and it’s all built to last however it’s all let down by the fact that it’s just not comfortable. Even with the topper we purchased separately it’s still very hard and not comfy to lay on. I wish it was otherwise we would be huge fans! Show details

Sold our slideaway sofa bed after 6 months. Poorly made for the price paid, expected far better quality. Frame squeaks and creaks when you sit on it and it’s not as easy to pull out as perceived (coming from a fit 30y.o. woman). Fabrics are nice colours but not worth the price tag, such a shame. I really like the look of the bed, the construction and materials. However, the mattress is very firm and I needed to buy a thick foam topper to make it comfortable for sleeping.
