Outstanding – Outstanding performance for the cost. I downsized from a large suburban brick house to a very simple, small timber cabin. My much-loved 2.2 + hybrid amp simply wouldn't fit. After much researching... This freakin little 2.1 getup, at literally 1/20th the cost of my big boy mains, subs & hybrid amp, is doing a simply brilliant job. Clear highs, fresh mids, tasty lows (yes, good drum!). It's beautifully finished too. I don't know what i'm going to do with that stereo gear, but for now i'm happy. Forget soundbars, this Edifier kit is ridiculous value for money & sound.

Goodbye Soundbars – This is replacing a JBL160 cinema Soundbar that went to hell. If you are thinking of buying a soundbar don't waste your money, this will eat any soundbar at just about any price point for breakfast and still have a bit left over for a brunch. This sound system is phenomenal. The first clue when I unpacked it was the sheer weight of it. The sub is heavy and those small bookshelf speakers are really heavy, this thing wreaks quality . The cables supplied are not those thin wires , they are heavy cables probably more at home with a a1000 watt system with the speakers 5 metres between, and they throw in an optical cable to boot.
The fact that it connects to my computer via bluetooth is even more impressive.
I looked over my shoulder at the TCL Ray Danz soundbar I have on my bedroom tv and thought why did I pay so much for that thing when this system belts it back to China.
I have a Klipsch Synergy B20 with a Jamo 200 sub on my other computer those speakers are twice the size of these but just can't compare in performance.
I auditioned the Edifiers playing Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5 Bad Guy by Billie Eilish What was I Made For by Billie Eilish. The kick drum on Moves like Jagger kicked-ass clearly thumping happily away . The bass was solid without being muddied on Bad Guy. The whispered, painfilled vocals by Billie Eilish on What was I made For sent chills down my spine.
The separation of different frequencies were superb on Belly Ache , with clear vocals, deep bass, and acoustic guitars rattling away never clashing or becoming confused. Does she sound like Nelly Fertado ?
This is one hell of a beast.
For the money, I just can't see how you could go past it , truly it is one of the best, if not the best small form sound system I have ever heard. It may lack a little warmth at times, but thinking of its size and price, I can live with that. It's not a deal breaker , as a matter of fact I am tempted to go with something slightly bigger for my bedroom TV when the TCL gives it up. A highly recommended product from me and you can't go wrong spending a measly $300+ on this when you could be spending twice as much on a toy soundbar. It's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road from me and goodbye to soundbars.
Very good value, good connection options, with plenty of power – For those considering these... I previously purchased a set of these for my computer/music room and thought they were terrific value, hence I've now purchased a second set to use for the TV in the lounge room. The satellite config allows flexible placement, although the limited length of the cable between sub-woofer and speaker (around 3m?) means you may require thoughtful placement of the sub-woofer depending upon your scenario. In my 5m wide lounge room it works fine with the sub-woofer placed between the satellite speakers.
Very powerful bass, the balance appears lower register oriented but certainly not boomy or over emphasised, running mine with the "treble" control set to high mostly balances them out.
Very good connectivity with lots of connection options, optical, multiple RCA options etc and the bluetooth is very handy.
The only negative I can think of is a poorly designed remote which is round, so you need to look at the remote when using it to ensure you use the correct control option, rather than being able to tell which control option is which just by touch via physical button arrangement.
Plenty of power, more than capable of enough volume for movies or music to fill a large room, with the ability to convey good strong and relatively clean bass effects.
Overall very good value I believe, hence these are the second set I've purchased. --- Re: previous owners review, I imagine there will always be the small percentage with faults that develop in time with most mass produced products, particularly those with either physical aspects or electronics, particularly bearing in mind the price point of these.
Another terribly designed chinese product – These speakers failed just out of warranty (12 months) due to bad PCB board design and shoddy soldering. Left speaker no longer works. Bluetooth also no longer works. Don't buy.
Purchased for $300.
