I Purchased a Ego push mower a month ago and have cut my large back lawn and front two lawns and my verge and it did a marvellous job on just one charge with a 56 Volt Battery, so it is going well Show details

Broke down after 3 months terrible repair service – Bought in October, stopped working in December after 3 uses. Assistance was inadequate. The dealer didn’t want to be involved really, had to take to repair shop. But, still waiting as they are closed down for Christmas. Show details

Battery and mower DIED!!! – Terrible mower. If the grass is slightly damp the mower gets clogged, and the clipping are a pain to get out. They are also a pian to get out of the bag even when they are dry. The catcher is a terrible deisgn. After sales service is horrible, took months to get my mower repaired. The cable running from the buttons at the top down to the motor… Read more

broke after 12 months and the mower stopped working. Also, the batteries are cheap and nasty. I've had to get 2 replaced within 12 months and I hardly use them. Expect to pay hundreds on new batteries when the warranty runs out because you will have to.

This is something I'd expect this from someone like Ozito.

Be careful what you hear about this company and its products, they have LOTS of fanboys.

Get another brand like Husqvarna, Sthil or Makita.

Not as powerfull – I have a ego wipper snipper, 21 inch mower, Hedger and blower, the mower is ok but not happy with how short it cuts the grass it needs to be able to cut shorter or else you will have grass thick like a sponge, it also gets stuck alot were there is slight imperfections in the ground. The wippersnipper is not powerful enough to go through buffalo… Read more

grass and takes to long when you need to do some serious edging. The Hedger is ok, nice and light and does a good job for domestic use. Now the blower is the best, very very powerful, I found it had more power than the petrol blowers I just wish you can control the flow of air through the throttle. As the battery loses power you can hear and feel the decrease in the power of the tool. Overall I found ego is ok for domestic use. I will be selling them off and sticking to my petrol equipment which has WAY more power. The big down fall is I am a clean freak, I like my tools clean, I have hosed down my petrol powered garden tools for over 10 years and never had a problem, now you can't go doing this with battery powered tools that's for sure.

Pretty good but does have its limits – I've had this mower for 4 years now and it's been pretty good. Early on the self propel function played up but it was fixed under warranty in just 2 days. The 7.5a battery charges in about 30mins on the fast charger. Occasionally in summer I've had to do a recharge to complete the mowing on my steep suburban corner block. Something to keep in… Read more

mind though…..I've just had a battery failure and a new 7.5 a/hr battery is $450. If I'd kept the Honda I would probably only have spent <$40 on fuel plus about $40 for a 5lt can of oil. This new battery had better last a lot of years.

Their advertising says "delivers performance that meets or exceeds the power of petrol". That is not true. My old Honda self propelled was definitely far more powerful. In Qld summer when the couch grass grows fast and thick this mower struggles but does the job in the end. I suspect the slasher style blade has something to do with this plus the lack of petrol motor torque. Mind you it never struggles on the Sir Walter buffalo grassed area of my lawn which appears much thicker and seemingly harder to cut. Go figure? Doesn't like picking up damp grass either but that's not uncommon on most mowers.

The self propel function has an odd quirk as well. When you release the propel lever at the end of a run it stops driving but the motor/gearbox doesn't disconnect. When you try pulling the mower backwards the rear wheels drag a lot. A couple of very short push-pull wriggles of the mower releases the drive mechanism and it comes free. Maybe, just maybe this is a safety feature to prevent the mower from rolling back onto the operator at the top of a hill??

Update: I have contacted Ego re the battery failure at 4 years as I believe a reasonable consumer would reasonably expect a longer battery life on a $450 battery so Australian Consumer Law should require them to cover the cost of repair or replacement. Ego disagree so big money on new batteries after only 4 years is not to be unexpected. Not good.

Impressive – Only had one day but did entire large lawn with battery lasting the whole way. Cuts cleanly and outperformed old petrol mower in tall grass. Much lighter. Quiteter than petrol but still loud. Plastic deck seems ver solid. Is self propelled but very light to push without SP and save battery power. Only negative is that catcher is a little awkward yo remove becuase of hand bar in the way. SP a little slow to respond to the accerator. Show details

The mower that does not CUT THE GRASS – We brought a 56 v EGO 46 CM self propelled lawn mower but it was not good enough to cut the grass so I borrowed our neighbors Victor and it mowed the grass like butter ! Good thing Total Tools gives you 30 days to return the mower! I was going to buy a Stihl one and give it a try But they would not let you have a demonstration of the mower so on… Read more

That was no good it might be the same as the EGO ! But I will buy a Honda Self propelled from Bunnings for you can get a whole year to return things at Bunngings !

Very happy with the Ego LM2102E-SP – When looking for a replacement for our 25 year old Victa 2 stroke, we looked at Choice for a replacement 4 Stroke. In the same review was the battery powered mowers which we hadn't considered. The Ego came top of the review and so I started to investigate and was surprised of the runtime. Really happy with the mower as it does back and front… Read more ·  1

lawns on a single charge. The mulching feature saves having to empty the catcher. Plenty of adjustment for the height of the handle. Folds up easy and stores upright (can't do that with a fuel mower)

Tough and easy to use – Amazing mower, as a gardener/ landscaper I have two of these mowers, my wife loves them for their ease of use, power, and quiet. I have owned one for 16months and it has been flogged, it will cut 30cm high wet grass, the only thing is doesn’t like is cutting into the thatch to bring the height of the lawn down, just do two Mows. We bought the… Read more

second last year in November, you can get 1 hour with self propelled or 1 and a half hours with push which is about 3 lawns. It sometimes doesn’t throw the grass to the back of catcher which they fixed with new one The self propelled is great so easy to use with adjustable speed. The mower is super light 18kg compared to the big Honda’s. Which I used before. You can store on its end taking up half the space in the shed. Thanks Scotty

WORST Aftersales customer service imaginalbe – I've had the product for just over 2 days now, and based on an initial test, the Product is great! HOWEVER, I had the wrong battery delivered as part of a kit. Called EGO customer support service and was advised it's "normal" to receive battery that is different to the one advertised - as its subject to when the kit was packaged. Meghan (from head… Read more

office) went further to say given battery is not defective, there's NOTHING that can be done. She even suggested the retailer would not help - despite the battery being different to the one advertised on their own EGO Australia website. Such a shame having a great product only to be supported by the worst customer service imaginable. I'm now regretting my latest purchase and would be mindful of this unflattering experience before purchasing any further EGO branded products (in Australia at least) as I know I'll be faced with the same "quality" of customer care should I ever need to make a warranty claim, which makes their product worthless and untrustworthy.

Note: I noticed other buyers (on this website) have also made similar unflattering remarks on EGO's lack of customer care (here in Australia), so I truely hope someone from EGO's US head office will look at these notes and educate the Australian office on what it takes to retain customer loyalty and implement the very basics of customer care.

Fantastic and so far great battery life – I've now had my mower for 30 days and it's fantastic. It is easy to start, the self propel feature I was a bit iffy about because I've never had it before but it makes light work out of the yard. I have a fairly large yard with couch grass and I have managed to do the whole thing on one catch. It's very full by the end of it but it used to take me… Read more

2 or 3 with the old mower. I haven't had the battery go below 15% once yet. Super easy to clean the blade.

Great mower. I was worried switching to battery but the ego was well worth the extra money.

Simply brilliant – I've been using this mower for a week now and I'm pleasantly surprised with its design and performance. The pros are it's light weight, low noise levels, ease of adjusting the height and folding up the handles, the quick recharging time, no petrol and oil to worry about or air filters to clean and replace, the ease of cleaning the underside of the… Read more

mower, the length of time I'm able to mow on one charge, the self propelled feature being independent of the actual mowing, the ergonomics and fit and finish are excellent, the quality of the cut, and the efficiency of the mulching. Cons are the self propelled speed could have finer variations - it's not continuously variable, there's a big jump from medium speed to high speed - and I'd prefer the self propelled speed lever to be on the horizontal bar at the top of the mower handle similar to what Honda and Toro have (even better would be a system similar to the Toro Personal Pace). Also aussie gardeners like to mow our lawns fairly low, although I do realize not everyone does that, and a lot of Aussies would prefer to have a lower minimum cutting height than the 28 mm provided by this EGO mower particularly when it comes to couch, buffalo lawns. But the pros far out number the cons and I now look forward to mowing the lawn whereas before, with my petrol Honda mower, it was not the most enjoyable task. Well done to EGO for putting so much thought into the design and features of the mower.

Great Mower Wish I Had It Sooner – No more worries about fuel and mixing, starts with a press of a button, set your own pace, self drive, very easy to use. Good sized grass catcher, I only had to empty it twice instead of the usual 4 times. You can recharge battery within an hour. The battery also fits the edge trimmer.  Show details

EGO LM2102E SP Battery Mower – This self propelled mower has great battery life and runs well. I purchased it new in May 2018, it only lasted 5 minutes but was quickly replaced with no hassles. What l don't like is the base is plastic and flexes too much If you set to the correct height and push it the frame bends and the front of the blade digs in. But if you use self… Read more

I wish it had a sturdy metal frame, but this is the only thing l can fault.
