I am 70+ relatively fit and agile. My grassed area is a bit smaller than medium size. It is flat and provides a good clear run for mowing. On 10 Oct 2025I purchased an EGO mower (POWER+ 52CM select cut self-propelled with 7.5AH battery. Model No. LM2130E-SP). A large pretty solid cardboard box contained the mower, grass catcher, battery and… Read more

battery charger. Assembly was straight forward. First task – charge the battery, which just required the battery to be inserted into the charger and then connected to 240V power. Less than 40 mins – done.

A quick check of the start procedure (which is also labelled on the mower handle) pressed one button and pulled one lever to commence the rotary cutting action. Initially pushed the mover (no catcher, but mulching plug inserted) to get a sense of its cutting capacity – no problems. Although my grass cover was relatively light, I could tell the mower had oodles of power that made my previous petrol mower hide in shame.

Next, I tested the propelling system that provides for multiple speed settings. No 2 was perfect for my demeanour. Activation requires a secondary button/lever to be pressed. A bit clumsy but workable.

Completed two cuts of both front and back lawns on one charge. The cut quality was fantastic leaving very little windrows of grass residue.

What I really liked: • It is so easy to start • 56V provides better power than equivalent sized petrol models • The 7.5AH battery cuts a considerable area and is quick to recharge • The cutting height and handle height adjustment are very useful • This mower is lighter and easier to manoeuvre than my previous petrol unit • The mower cuts wider but is physically narrower than my previous unit • The finished cut looks fantastic

I do recommend this mower for its cutting power and cut quality combined with ease of operation particularly for elderly people like myself.

No service, no warranty coverage – EGO WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. EGO refuses to replace my defective battery I purchased at Lowe's, even though my many complaints were made within the 3 year warranty period. Three times I requested a manager. Each time, I was told one was not available, but would call me that day. Two weeks later, one finally called. She agreed that according… Read more

Apparently, a customer cannot trust EGO to honor their written warranties.

A great mower – Had this mower for nearly 3 years and hasn’t skipped a beat. 7.5aH battery does my 1400m2 block ok but have backup batteries as well. Don’t really use self propel though as the I can easily push the mower faster than the system. Other than that, can’t fault it. Show details

EGO Self Propelled mower – This Self propelled Mower has all the features you need. Easy to steer. But does not cut grass as short as my old Makita Mower did. The Speed Control for self propelled leaves a lot to be desired. There is no visible marking when you turn lever when the self propelled will start. more linear control for the speed. Grass was reasonably short and the mow took 50 minutes and I had 75 % left on Battery and end of cutting grass. That part was good. Unsure how longer grass would go. But good on sloping ground.

But biggest disappointment was not able to cut as short as would of liked and terrible speed control. Hope they can modify this as store where I bought having other owners commenting on speed control. Hope to update performance on longer grass. I took 1 star off for Speed Control and the other off for not being able to cut so short.

Awesome mower, limited by expensive batteries that quickly fail – Imagine wanting something for many years, then finding it only to discover that it has a deadly flaw? Such is my experience with this EGO mower. There is no doubt that it performs well when it's new. The problem is that the batteries that it comes with combined with the typical usage by those well versed in using a petrol mower result in… Read more

battery degradation leading to very short battery life even before the end of two year warranty. Most of these mowers come with a 7.5AH battery, which may initially be big enough for small surburban lawns but certainly not if the battery is to be treated in a way that will make it last for ten years or so. When you are familiar with Lithium Ion batteries, you know that they hate being fully charged, they hate being stored fully charged, they hate being in temperatures above 25 degrees (think of those metal sheds where mowers are typically stored), they also HATE being charged very rapidly and most people in the know suggest never to charge at a rate that completes the charge in less than an hour. Okay, so this mower with the 7.5AH battery charges in 40 minutes with the turbo charger, compared to 140 minutes of the standard charger. LI batteries also hate very rapid discharge. Well, this mower has like a "afterburner" mode where it greatly increases the current draw when you hit thick grass. When you are used to using a petrol mower, you get used to mowing as fast as you can while not loading engine down so much that it stalls.

So when is the best time to charge? For most people, this would be after you finish mowing. It's convenient for them. Charge it up to full, then put battery back in mower and into the hot metal shed outside so it can bake for days to weeks with full charge until you need to mow again. See where this is going? Please understand that the mower itself does cut very well, the blades don't wear quickly and give a great result. The big question is whether or not it's actually possible to use this mower in a way that allows the batteries to last for more than a year or so.

I returned my Ego batteries to Total Tools on 11th March 2024 and was told they would be repaired or replaced within 2 weeks. After more than 4 weeks, I asked again where are my batteries and was told to wait some more. I stated that unless I left the shop with either batteries or a refund, that I'd get authorities involved. After applying considerable pressure, I left the shop with new replacement batteries. I requested to receive a 12AH battery instead of the original 7.5AH, noting that I was happy to pay the difference ($280). After some juggling of paperwork, they made it happen. I'm hoping that with a combination of using the larger battery and attention to charging, discharging and storage that I would hopefully get some good years out of these new batteries.

To make a LI battery last, its best to use "shallow cycle" and by that, I mean don't charge fully, and don't discharge fully. Go for something like 80% to 90% charge, and don't let it discharge below 20% or so. Hence the real need for using a larger battery. Don't even think of using a 2.5AH battery in the Ego mower, it will degrade it extremely rapidly. If you receive one as part of a deal for mower, use it in a weedeater as this is far less load and suits the 2.5AH battery just fine.

If you do decide to go with this mower, take my advice: Get the largest battery you can. To my knowledge that's 12AH. Multiple smaller batteries are no substitute and are just asking for trouble. The 10AH may be okay, and I've heard a whisper that the 12AH has less thermal gel to allow all the cells to fit into the package. I cannot confirm that at this time. I do know that after using a thermal imaging camera on the 12AH battery after charging using the standard charger (something like 3 hours), the maximum temperature was 34.6 degrees C. Compare that to my Bosch ebike battery that achieves a maximum temperature of 29.7 degrees C, and yet it doesn't have active cooling like the Ego battery and charger does. This higher temperature is particularly interesting when you consider that the Ego turbo charger is more than twice as fast as the standard charger. I got a turbo charger with the mower originally, it now sits in the shed while the standard charger I bought on Marketplace does the job nicely.

When the battery is 80% full, turn the charger off. When there is just one green light remaining, stop mowing. If you intend to keep mowing, go ahead and charge now else wait until you are ready to mow again before slow charging. Don't use this like you would a Honda petrol mower. Don't wait until the grass is so long that weeds are about to seed. Mow more often and do so at a leasurely pace. Don't use the mower to chop up piles of weeds or other plant matter (substitute mulcher). Petrol mowers are fine with this but not so todays battery mowers!! If you do need to mow longer grass, raise the mower height a bit, lowering it again next time you mow. Consider buying a used mower, but don't pay for used batteries unless you know for sure that they are okay and still warranted. Some batteries fail in strange ways that may not be obvious in a quick test.

Operation is easy, the mower is extremely light even for elderly people. Catcher size is good, not too hard to empty and reattach. Lights help at times but not bright enough for night use. There are aftermarket batteries made to fit the Ego mowers and may be good value, providing that you go large capacity.

Attached images: 1. New Ego 12AH (672WH) battery immediately after charging from 30% to 80% using standard charger (thermal imagery). 2. Relatively new 625WH bosch ebike battery after charging from 27% to 80% using standard 4A charger (thermal imagery).

Great Mower and good value with free blower package plus extra battery with ego redemption – With advancing years I was starting to struggle to push my old 18v push mower, especially on my lush buffalo lawn. battery. Additionally it was available as a kit with a free blower and an ego redemption offer for an additional 2.5amp battery. I was however concerned that it might be a bit to heavy and hard to manoeuvre due to its size so I held back on purchasing for a while hoping to see a display model. Edmund at Sydney Tools, Penrith, along with a visiting Ego Trade Rep were very helpful in arranging for me to handle a demo model which allowed me to reassure myself that the mower was not too heavy so I made the purchase. I have now had time to try it out and was pleasantly surprised to find that with its well laid out controls and self propelled feature, it was very manoeuvrable despite its size and the twin blades do allow for a great finish and small particles if you use the mulch option. It’s also very powerful and with the 52cm blades it makes short and easy work of mowing. It’s very early days yet so I can’t speak about reliability but it looks and feels really well built and it had 5years warranty for the mower and 3 for the battery. It’s expensive but with the build quality, free blower package and the Ego Redemption offer for May and June it compares favourably with the cheaper options available.

Very good! But not perfect – I had this mower for almost two years now. It is doing its job very well and I am now using some other Ego branded products as well. My biggest issue is how the battery live is degrading. It is hard to measure, but I have a feeling that my battery only has about 70% of its original capacity after two years. Show details

Makes mowing so much easier. Definitely recommend – I’ve been using this mower for about 18 months now, and highly recommend it. With my old mower it took 1.5 hours to mow the lawn, and I’d always have a sore back afterwards. With this mower it takes about 25 minutes, is extremely easy, and no sore back. Wet / Damp Grass Performance

Pricey, efficient but not without its faults – The Ego LM2135E-SP gives an even cut and a nice, neat appearance of the lawn when the job is done. It is on par with some of the less-expensive, good-quality petrol-driven lawnmowers. Having said that, the Ego is environmentally friendly and a lot easier to start. It is certainly chunkier than my old petrol-driven mower and weighs just as heavy… Read more

but given the slightly larger wheels it is more manoeuvrable and easier to push. The Ego does not work well on damp grass as the chute gets clogged easily. Also, it has the tendency to stall when the cutting height is set much lower than the height of the blades of grass. Cleaning the underside after each mowing takes some effort wiping with a damp sponge or cloth. Unlike petrol-driven mowers, the Ego cannot be water sprayed. The grass bag or catcher is not the best-designed as grass clippings get caught in the fabric and linings. I must use a blower to clean it out completely.

The self-propel mode is a great help and makes mowing the lawn less of a chore. The biggest problem is that the rear wheels tend to lock in a forward motion occasionally even though both the self-propel switches are released and are clearly in the “off” position. When this happens, it takes some effort to pull the mower back as it tends to lunge forward. I must wait a few seconds for it to unlock by itself before I can pull the mower back, failing which I must switch off the mower altogether and start it up again.

Also, the self-propel speed-control cylindrical knob is a hassle. It is hard to see if it is on and what speed it is set to. It could be better designed with a reference mark on the horizontal bar and numbers ranging from 0 to 10 on the cylindrical knob corresponding to the notches for the different speed settings.

I tend to mow my couch grass lawn high in the cooler months to keep it looking lush and green and to discourage weeds. I wish there were more graduated cutting height levels. Setting the Ego mower at level 5 (64mm) shaves off too much of the grass while mowing at level 6 (77mm) is acceptable but a tad too high for my liking. An intermediate cutting height would have been ideal. My old petrol-driven mower had 10 cutting-height settings and I notice that a few other brands of battery-powered mowers have more than the 7 cutting-height settings that the Ego has.

Having used the Ego mower several times now since I purchased it new, I am generally satisfied with the quality, performance, and functionality of this mower despite its drawbacks and that LED headlights seem to be a white elephant. Nevertheless, I reckon that the Ego LM2135E-SP is somewhat overpriced for what it is.

Didn't believe a battery mower could be this good – With the demise of my trusty Victa Corvette mower (brought on by advanced rusting of its steel deck), the hunt was on for a replacement. Having noticed the increasing number of battery mowers on the market, I began to think now would be an appropriate time to convert over from petrol. Over the last few years I have begun embracing battery powered… Read more

tools starting with drills, then a garden blower followed by a chain saw, circular saw and nail gun. Each of these impressed me with its capabilities so I felt it time to take a big step up to a battery mower. I shortlisted a number of suitable mowers but with varying specifications for batteries was concerned about the mower equivalent of electric car “range anxiety”. I wanted to make my mowing easier rather than having to stop part way through and wait for the battery to recharge and complete the job. There were, however, three reasons I went with the EGO mower: 1) The next door neighbor had bought an identical one two weeks before and had been very happy with it 2) EGO supplies a 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee on this mower. Don’t like it...return it for full refund 3) A bonus offer had just come up where an EGO Garden blower (worth $249) was being included in the box as a no cost extra

Thus, the EGO Mower and Blower arrived home after (just) fitting into the back of my medium size SUV. The mower came fully assembled out of the box and only required the battery to be unboxed (see picture below). Battery supplied is a 7.5Ah battery. To put it in, flip open the cover, slide the battery all the way in and close the cover. There is also a “security key” mounted next to the battery which will prevent the mower from functioning if small children are around and you choose to remove it. To use the mower is as simple as folding the handle up into the correct location and telescoping the remaining half into place. Unless you fully telescope the handle and secure it’s clips the mower won’t operate. Incidentally, the handle has a three positions it can be raised to. Handy for users of varying heights or going under trees. To start the mower, EGO says the front wheels should be lifted off the grass while you push a large safety button and pull on the handle bar which runs parallel to the top of the main handle. Motor reaches full revs in a second and away you go. This particular model also is self propelled with elongated buttons on both the left and right sides of the handle so they are conveniently resting under your thumbs. The self propelled feature even works if you just want to “walk” the mower somewhere without the blades running. Speed of the self propelled feature is adjusted by a cylindrical control in the middle of the handlebar. To the right is a light which is usually green but alerts you if the battery/motor is overheating or some other issue. I’ve never seen it anything but green.

I have a domestic block of about 865sqM with no pool and only the footprint of the house. While around the same weight as my previous mower, this is a 52cm machine which I immediately noticed as much bigger than my previous 46cm machine. This proved a little trickier when maneuvering in smaller areas around trees and garden beds but overall shortened the time to mow due to its bigger cutting width. I usually mulch rather than catch my grass and was amazed and what a much better job it was doing at this compared to my previous mulching mower. Only a couple of times where the grass had become quite lush did it leave even the slightest trace of clumping. A quick reverse over that area and it was gone. My previous Victa would have left significantly longer trails of clumped grass in the same circumstances. Incidentally, EGO supplies “Hi Lift blades” as standard with this mower. These are meant to provide more suction to lift the grass up before cutting it and throwing it into a bag. You can also buy dedicated mulching blades as a replacement so it would be interesting to see what improvement is there. The blades are in a slightly unconventional “X” pattern (see photo below” with one pair cutting and the other pair (the hi-lift ones) raising the grass and sending it to the catcher (or mulching). There is a mulching plug included.

Regarding “range anxiety”, I needn’t have worried. There are five segments of battery usage visible to the operator of the mower (EGO calls it the fuel gauge). These are clearly visible in daylight through the tinted top of the battery cover. So far, the most usage I have done with this mower is three of those bars meaning I finished mowing with around 40% (or just under) of battery remaining. EGO claims the battery is good for 50 minutes of “normal” use. It takes around 35 minutes for me to mow my lawn so their figure appears to be realistic rather than an optimistic “up to”. This includes use of the self propelled feature but not use of the headlights. Yes...it has LED headlights for mowing at dusk? I think it is more of a gimmick but whatever… Yes, it is quieter than a petrol mower (more of a steady droning noise) but I don’t think the neighbors would appreciate it in the early morning and I’m not sure I would want to be seen mowing the lawn in the dark. EGO claims this to be as powerful as a petrol mower. Hard to compare but coming from a Victa with a 190cc engine, I certainly don’t have any complaints around lack of power. It runs at a steady speed all the time until it hits something a bit tougher and requiring more power. At this point, the mower automatically detects the extra load and speeds up appropriately.

As well as the battery, EGO includes its rapid charger and a semi collapsible grass catcher (70l capacity). The charger will fully recharge the supplied 7.5Ah battery in just under an hour while the catcher has mesh sides, metal frame and plastic base. I noticed it was the easiest catcher to put on of any catcher I have had. I don’t use the catcher much (preferring to mulch) but it seemed to do the job and be able to fill to capacity. Did notice, however, with the grass catcher approaching full the mower became a little "tail-heavy" and you needed to concentrate more on keeping the front wheels on the ground to maintain an even cut. Height adjustment is done through a T-bar selector on the left side (see photo below) which varies the height of all four wheels simultaneously. Speaking of the wheels, they have ball bearings to assist in a hopefully long life.

When it comes time to clean the mower and put it away, I just put a garden blower over it and that works fine. Unless you have been mowing wet grass which cakes up underneath and needs to be scraped off. Not a big job though as it comes off the plastic deck easily. You then fold up the handle and stand it on its back to stick out of way in the corner of the garage. Much more efficient than a petrol mower (see photo below). There is a handle mounted on the front edge to facilitate this, however, even without the big battery installed it’s no lightweight. EGO recommends not attempting to hose it down.

Overall, the mower impresses me. Can’t fault its performance. Does exactly as you want and is easier, quieter and less messy to deal with. However, be aware that this is not a cheap mower. You could easily get three cheap mowers for the same price plus the battery is worth close to $500 if you ever need to replace it.

PLUS * No fumes...just insert the battery (I always charge it up after the last use) and off you go. Instant start without yanking on a cord * Virtually no maintenance (no oil or filters to change. Just keep it clean) * Powerful with more than adequate battery life to meet my needs * 30 day satisfaction guarantee with full refund * 5 year warranty on the mower. 3 year warranty on the battery and charger * Won’t rust away like previous mower * Smaller footprint when storing away

MINUS * Unknown longevity considering a lot of plastic being used. Deck material feels solid and up to the job but there are minor concerns for the bright green clips that secure the telescoping handle. At least they should be easy to replace? * Expensive! * If mower needs repair it will probably need to be returned to EGO. Can’t see too many mower repair shops taking it on. An electric motor (with fewer moving parts should be more reliable than an internal combustion engine

The cardboard box it came in has been sent to the recycling bin well within the 30 day satisfaction period so it’s a definite keeper. My wife is even happy to use the machine and says it seems to give a flatter and smoother finish to the grass. I’m inclined to agree.

friendly. I have about 300m2 prestige Buffalo and it was about 100-120mm high. Catcher is impressive with just over two full bags for the whole front and back. So far I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend to others. Also, a number of other reviews have mentioned it not cutting low enough. If you’re cutting a golf green of couch….maybe. Otherwise I cut my lawn on the second highest today. With 5 lower settings I’m not concerned should I want to go lower next time.

Pretty dam Impressed – Having owned ride on mowers, push mowers from all different brands for the last 30 years I can say I was pretty skeptical at first. those difficult slopy areas.

The mower is fairly heavy, so I would hate to be pushing it all the time. I have the 10Amp battery which is enough to mow all I have, about 1.5hrs worth, with a bit of power left. My block contains hills and flat areas with lots of different grass types, the mower performs pretty well in all areas provided the grass is no higher than about 150mm.

Compared to my petrol mower, yes, I kept it, you are more conscious of making sure your grass does not get to out of control. If you go away during growing season and come back to grass a few feet high, I would be inclined to grab out the old petrol. I am sure the electric would do it, but it would be slow going and the mower does get clogged with grass with the mulcher plug in when going through taller stuff.

The mower could do with a side discharge fitting for those times when you need to mow something a bit longer, they have one in the USA, but not available here. I think this would allow you to mow higher levels of grass without the mower bogging down or cutting out, which it has done once or twice for me.

I also have a blower, whipper snipper and two 7.5amp batteries, again, these are of good build quality and do the job, but don't think they are light in weight. Stick a 7.5amp battery into the blower and its equal in weight to my Stihl blower.

So far, after about 6 months of use, I am pretty happy with the purchase so far.

Way exceeded my expectations – I had a 22" (560mm) Rover Self-propelled commercial mower that would just mow anything...wet grass, dry grass...you name it. expectations but this Ego mower has exceeded ALL my expectations except one. (See below) It's more maneuverable, cuts the grass more neatly, has an easier height adjuster and the self-propelled mechanism can be made to go much faster than the old Rover...and it still cuts neatly. This thing just powers through lush Durban Grass like it wasn't there. The motor safety shut-off bar is a bit of a pain, but you get used to it after a few minutes. Cleaning the mower is a breeze - just sit it on its end and you have access to the cutting zone. Give it a wipe out with a damp cloth- done! You can store it end up too...smaller footprint. Battery life is good. After I mowed my 38 perch yard (about 400 sq. mtrs. of lawn) the 7.5 Amp/hr battery was still 75% charged.

Cons? It has a plastic deck and that isn't going to last as long as a metal deck. I don't really mind. I'll just get a new one. The batteries are expensive to replace. That's not often. I've had Ego hedge-clippers since 2014 and the battery is still fine - as are the hedge-clippers. The exhaust chute is restricted compared to the Rover. I suspect this means it won't handle wet grass very well. We'll see.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with this mower. It has reduced my mowing time by 20%.

At last this looks to be the one - Ego LM2135E-SP – Have prated about looking for a mower to suit my advancing years. I have a 49cm cut EGO with a 4Ah battery. I find that its a bit hard to push and the battery needs recharging to mow all of the level graded grass. Nevertheless it does ok and I wouldn't knock it. Bought the 52 inch self propelled EGO with its 7.5Ah battery. Its about 18months old… Read more

and bought on an auction site for NZ$750 - y'know one lady owner and hardly been used.

I wondered if this would be a little large as there's heaps of corners, but tried it out on half the lawn and wow how good is this. Ripped round the half with no problems. the put the battery in the fast charger and so little power had been used that the charger wouldn't fire up.

So yes, the larger mower is easier to use than the smaller push yourself one. Multcher is good and catcher is good.

Theres a few nuts and screws on the underside which have rusted. Perhaps stainless steel or plug with grease when new.

Recommended if the price is right as no way would I pay the recommended retail price.

Well B-Mow be down, these things CAN cut it! – As part of my 2021 swap everything petrol out for battery operated, I gave up my Mascot 4-in-1 mower/mulching push mower in favour of this EGO 520mm 56V battery operated machine. I already had multiple EGO tools, so this was a natural choice. I still evaluated some other Brands but existing reviews were already really good for this. The only… Read more

thing missing of course was how these kinds of mower perform on Aussie bush blocks with steep slopes. I had purchased a Ryobi battery powered ride-on as part of this effort (see other review) but it can't go / cut everything so you have to have something for the finer detail in the yard.

It performs very well against all the grass, leaves, sticks, slopes and vines i've pushed it through so far. It is powerful and with the 7.5amp battery it came with, I get about 40-45 minutes from it before it gives out. Unlike the Ryobi ride-on however, I can swap out the battery for another I have sitting nearby to continue the job as 40mins doesn't cut it for the area I have to do. I wasn't sure at all if the self-propelled would work on the Dandenongs sloping block I have but it was absolutely awesome at climbing up the steepest parts dragging me along behind it. Coming from non self-propelled mowers from many years till now, this is an essential service! It took a little getting used to, but managing the self-propelled, back to pushing, back to propelled isn't so straightforward I found. A mind-game when you first do it compared to the total freedom of pushing and pulling a mower over, around and into everything without thinking about it. For instance, pushing the mower up a sloped bit into a bush to mower under it... and then letting it roll back to your feet or pulling it. If you don't take note of the timing, you find yourself pulling the locked wheel mower down instead. There's a few seconds of disengage before you can just have it in neutral and come to where you are. It's also quite peaky on the acceleration as well so a burnout here or there is inevitable.

Operating the mower is the same as most so nothing overly special there. Battery in, key in, close lid, hold down power button then depress engage blades bar that wraps around the handle. Instant power to full and off you go. I chose the whole plastic body EGO mower as opposed to the metal one as I have no comparison really to know if one is better than the other. Only ever had steel ones, so this will be interesting. Self Propelled mode happens when you depress other built in buttons on the handle.

What I really love most (besides no petrol, oil, filters, spark plugs, stink, fuss etc, etc) is that you fold the whole thing up and hang it on the wall! You literally can treat this like another wall hanging tool. Fantastic to retain floor space for other stuff. The mulch insert it comes with works really well, the satchel for catching grass is great for a cloth one (folds up nicely and also takes up no space). It's easy to attach and remove. By comparison to the pretty-good Mascot 4-in-1 I had, i'd take this any day of the week.

Issues : Nothing about the machine itself, it's awesome. What I DID find was that when you're on a slope and you need to hold the mower (by the handle) and you want to change the height of the mowing by reaching down to grab the lever, the machine takes off suddenly because your hands grip the propulsion buttons! This caught me out several times. They've obviously been designed to be hands off, change stuff, hands back on which you don't tend to do on a slope. Note to EGO - check into it, could be dangerous in the wrong setting. They may write back and say read the manual of course.

Solid build, easy neat cut, great battery life – Just bought this wicked mower following the poor reliability of Ryobi top of the line 36V version. More money but the build quality is streets ahead of the one I had which after 1 replacements and a refund fell well short of it's expectation of longevity. Heavier but that's reflected in the solid build. Good controls and has a self propelled… Read more

function if you need it, along with night lights for those late mows. Really good battery performance, and power to cut through heavy grass. So far so good. Used the mulch insert and it comes out nice and fine compared to the Ryobi and almost cuts edge to edge, with the wider size at 52cm shortens my mow time. Turning tight is a little harder due to the extra weight but not a big issue. Hopefully more reliable, the salesman assured me there had been no returns for faulty equipment yet and he was gushing about them even following my purchase (he said he owned the metal version), so there's that. Bought due to recommendation on US testing line up of brands. Here's hoping it lasts more than the last purchase.

Can't cut kikuyu short – Bought this mower as well as a 65cm hedge trimmer as part of the more buzz for your buck deal. Was pretty happy with how well it mulched the lawn clippings on my first use but the lawn wasn't low enough. Next time I mowed the lawn I tried to cut it shorter but the mower just kept stalling. Returned the mower but Ego wouldn't let me return the… Read more

trimmer. Now I'm stuck with a $317 hedge trimmer and no battery or charger and it will cost $348 to get a 2.5ah battery and charger.

A Fully Featured, Robust & Powerful 52cm Self Propelled Battery Lawn Mower KIT with a 7.5Ah 56V Battery & Quick Charger – A wider decked & self propelled upgrade from my aging 9yo Bosch Rotak 37 Li 36V battery mower. Purchased in combo with several other 56V lithium battery system Ego branded garden tools during their 2020 'More Buzz For Your Buck' bonus battery promotion. Whilst wider & heavier than my previous perpetually diminishing twin battery capacity &… Read more

irremovable bladed mower, the wider decked & self propelled Ego 'high lift' twin blade makes shorter & lighter work of mowing & bagging the predominantly buffalo grassed lawn on my moderate 600 sq/m urban block & twin nature strips. The included 7.5Ah battery's segmented LED's are always visible through & atop the acrylic body cover with capacity a plenty as the mower rarely ramps up in power to attack any thicker, wetter or taller grass as needed. Long 5yr tool & 3yr battery & charger warranties were highly considered pre purchase, as was the unclaimed 30 day Money Back Guarantee after the reassuring first 3 mows thus far. 7 easy cut height adjustments is plentiful, so too the massive 70lt grass collection bag / catcher, which is easily unclipped with unimpeded access by simply folding forward the mower push handles as needed. Space saving & compact upright storage is also easily achieved by same foldable & collapsible push handles. My only gripe thus far is my ease of inadvertently activating either self propel button atop the soft & grippy handle bar, but I envisage doing so less as I become accustomed to the new function & button positions. A mulching plug is included & twin mulching blades optional to purchase, but unused for my lawn case. Fan cooled battery charging is quick & simple with segmented progress LED's on both battery & charger.
