Misleading advertising of product - the drier has a 1 hour anti-wrinkle cycle that can't be disabled. This means once the clothes have finished drying (including a cool down cycle) that the anti-wrinkle cycle automatically goes for 1 hour before the drier actually stops. This happens on all program cycles of the machine. The only way to stop the anti-wrinkle cycle is to manually go and remove the clothes from the machine and to turn it off, which defeats the purpose of the drier being an automatic machine. This hour long anti-wrinkle cycle which can not be disabled was not advertised on the Good Guys website and if consumers knew beforehand they would not purchase. The additional costs in electricity for this anti-wrinkle cycle to run is unnecessary and costly. Additionally, most clothes now days have some nylon or polyester which means they are somewhat anti-wrinkle already and therefore an anti-wrinkle cycle is not often needed (eg. not needed for towels, skivvies, trackpants etc.)
The instructions are very limited and hard to understand. You need to go to the actual Electrolux website to find the manual. It does not state clearly how to tell the difference between having set the machine to function on high temp, mid temp, low temp or airing. The manual also states that setting the temperature can only be done at initial set up meaning a person can't change it to suit each individual load of drying.
The advertised of an autosense function is misleading. It appears from the manual that the drier operates on whether a half full or full program has been selected, it does not appear to have an autosense function at all. I washed a light weight fabric throw and the machine set it to dry for 2.45 hr, however with my old drier it use to take only 30 minutes to dry. On top of this 2.45 hour cycle was the anti-wrinkle cycle which went for a further 1 hour. This is a very poorly designed machine, uses a lot of electricity where it is not needed, it has a very poorly written instruction manual. This machine should be taken off the market. The Good Guys advertising for it is incorrect and misleading. This drier is a lemon.
Thank you Electrolux for your comments, I just hope the "Good Guys" business I bought the drier from are as helpful in refunding this purchase.
