Has been fantastic for the last ten years – I've liked the idea of having a built in microwave and convection oven so purchased this ten years ago. Yes it wasn't cheap but it has been exceptional. And now ten years on it looks and performs like new. It is now discontinued but I hope this quality continues to be provided in newer models. Why am I writing this review then? Well I have a policy of writing a positive review for every negative review. This balances the reviews a little.
Purchased in for $2,400.

Electrolux EOK86030X combination microwave oven – Once you get used to this oven it is fantastic. It has a large internal capacity with a glass base (a shelf that can be removed and cleaned easily) when you use it as a microwave. The variability of the microwave power settings is great (100 to 1000 watts) and it is easy to set and change the time, even during the the microwave cycle. There is no turntable and it's easy to change from microwave to fan oven or grill by removing the glass shelf and fitting the shelf runners. It works well as an oven and grill. Reliable, energy efficient, looks good, easy to use once you get used to it. Easy to swap from microwave to oven/grill and vice versa. A lot more expensive than a benchtop microwave and has to be hard wire installed by an electrican. The back light stays on after the programme has finished but we have discovered that you can cancel it by pressing the oven function button ((the square) and then the stop/reset button.
Bad – Well, I wouldn't buy one again, as it has the functionality of a basic oven from 40 years ago. It does have some preset automatic functions but these seem to be largely pointless - plus you have to have the manual handy to know what they are as you cannot see the symbols inside the lid. Overall looks good but that's about it. Looks Good, feels solid & well made Very expensive, & limited functionality. For example has no useful memory; you cannot set the microwave to go from 1 min on high then to say 5 mins on low. You have to do this manually (my 25 year old oven could do this before it broke!) Also it has this stupid "light bar" that stays on unless you turn the oven on & off again - doesn't make sense??
