Brilliant Design; Failed Execution
This is the best designed handstick vacuum cleaner bought (after 2 others over the past 10 years). In particular, the self-stand design, LED-lit main head and telescoping main unit (which allows for low vacuuming positions to be obtained) stand out. The 40-minute plus battery life was also appreciated over a mix of wood, tile and carpet flooring.
Less appreciated was the telescopic tube's plastic locking mechanism's penchant to break off against its metal clip-lock, a result of too-heavy tube and mismatched materials (plastic onto metal). This...led to 2 successive returns within 2 months of both original purchase and first exchange. We thought that the perfect cordless vacuum had at last been found. Alas, the Pure F9 wins our 2019 lemon accessory of the year award. So it's back to Dyson, this time in V11 guise. How we miss that LED light and overall solidity. How we regret that Electrolux duffed a beautiful design!
Purchased in August 2019 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $749.00.
Questions & Answers
Our new pureF9 vacuum cleaner has started to suck debris up into handle stem and not into the waste bin. This is disconcerting as we only purchased this product under six months ago and have been religious at emptying it when required.
We didn't have ours long enough for this to happen as all were returned for the reason mentioned in my review on this site.
It is possible that there is a break or tear in the plastic nozzle which connects the head to the stem. I suggest that you take the unit back to the place of purchase or directly to an authorised Electrolux service agent for inspection under warranty.
The Pure F9 Allergy - Satin White model shows as discontinued on the Electrolux website (https://www.electrolux.com.au/vacuum-cleaners/cordless-vacuum-cleaners/pf91-6bw/), although the Pure F9 Animal - Chilli Red appears still to be current (https://www.electrolux.com.au/vacuum-cleaners/cordless-vacuum-cleaners/PF91-6PR/).
Good luck, Bridget!
