Still working after 20 years _ Also How to Use information _as manuals are not available – We brought this about 20 years ago but never used it as our floors polished tiles were sealed and don’t want to ruin the seal. Recently wanted to steam clean a Rug, hence got it out, but couldn’t open the water filling screw by hand, hence use my shifter wrench to open it , next discovered there are calcium deposits inside the water container. I… Read more
didn’t use it as the calcium might clog the nozzle, search for manual but found missing, called the customer centre like all companies ends up in Manila & of No Use. I filled with warm water shaked well and drain the water, saw white flakes of calcium coming out of the container. Did this process for many times until the calcium flakes reduced to small grains. Next filled it and switched on to get heated, but didn’t want to use, instead allowed to cool down and continue draining calcium flakes again. Finally got little confidence that there are no big flakes of calcium inside the container. Found Manuals of Z370 online, only difference is a steam iron missing in Z380 and discharge port is different, other seems same. I filled the container with the jug and funnel about 500 cc ( Don’t follow z370 suggests 2 x500 cc), tighten the cap. Switched on with the yellow button and you will see green & orange buttons are lighted up, as the unit is heated the pressure gauge will move, when the unit is ready to use the orange buttons will shutoff and the pressure gauge will be at the middle of the yellow section. Initially switched the steam release on button 2 to 3 time to clean the accumulated water from the nozzle then insert in the floor or other adapter as you want to use. Check the warnings very carefully, as you are handling super heated steam. During use if the steam pressure goes down the orange light will light up means it is heating the water. Monitor the steam as it reduced that means the container is near empty, stop, unplug, discharge pressure through nozzle, and refill after cooling down. Although there are deficiencies, but it works well.
Note: After use always clean the water and calcium deposits before closing.
Missing: 1. Manuals online 2. Pressure Gauge scale numbers 3. Indicator to show the water container is full empty And 4. A bleeding screw to clean the container of deposited calcium I hope the Electrolux will read this and support the current & future customers with updated products.
Good equipment.. Not a magic wand – This is a steam cleaner, can be used anywhere where steam cleaning is done - hard floors, carpets, curtains, chain saws, anywhere for clean steam cleaning. If empty fill, if dirty wipe, if filled wait until heated. Very versatile. It doesn’t suck…use vacuum before after. Show details
Another gadget to store – The hose on mine has split after not much use. Godfrey's where it was purchased said to contact Electrolux. Ok no problem. It is ok for loosening up dirt/grime such as tracks and tiles, but it blows it elsewhere, hence the same clean up. Considering the cost, storage, the time to fill, heat and lug around, it's not worth the trouble. You… Read more
definitely need - towels, rags, glass cleaner, product, squeegee, etc. as well.
Just borrowed a Karcher window cleaner vac from family - Bloody brilliant! Just soap and water scourer then vac off. No need for clean rinse or wiping. Terrific and not another useless gadget.
OK – I don't really have much use for it, other than occasionally cleaning the blind slats. I have a separate less cumbersome steam mop for the floors. It does generate a lot of steam & has good pressure. I bought it to clean vertical blind slats & it did do that ok. It is not too bad on security screens. The cloth that came with it was too light, I… Read more
use thicker terry socks over the small fitting. The fittings do come off when in use, I always have to put them back on.
OK – While this steam cleaner does a good job of cleaning it doesn't keep steam pressure for very long and you have to keep waiting for it to reheat and build up pressure again. The unit also takes a long time to heat initially when first turned on so this product makes cleaning floors and walls very time consuming and tedious. Mine has spent most of… Read more
its life sitting in the cupboard because it is much easier to just use a mop and bucket instead. pretty much a waste of money unless you have the patience to use it. After seeing other comments I can also confirm my machine is made in China. cleans floors well with steam, washable floor tool covers doesn't sustain steam for very long, takes too long to heat
Excellent – Would recommend it to anyone. It is so easy to use even my daughter (13) uses it. Cleans the floor tiles and grout so quickly. Absolutly fantastic - quick to heat up, easy to use and MADE IN ITALY used it for over 5 years
Good – a very good cleaner for all those hard to get jobs and very good on hard crusty muck that sometimes gets on you furniture or carpet. it cleans just about anything you want to clean . it blows out nice hot steam it works perfectly well. nothing yet
Bad – not recommended. does not work well. poor value. shame on you Electrolux for marketing such an ill thought out device Cleans glass so long as not too dirty mops polished floors, hopefully kills bacteria wont remove soap scum deposits in showers like a string mop, tends to leave streaks on polished floors when dry, especially where anything… Read more
such as milk has been spilled
need to vacuum normally first, as the steam cleaner has no vacuum function
will not clean out sliding door tracks well
if they are very dirty, but as another reviewer said, it does splatter the loose dirt everywhere
Cleaning glass the conventional way by mopping the glass with a detergent, then squeegeing is likely to give a better result in almost the same time
Terrible – Looked attractive when we purchased it but after the initial use I returned it as I could not see the value for money. It was very off puting to have it stop after one use and I wouldn't recommend to any one. It worked for about 2 hours, was good for that 2 hours - see bad things It worked for about 2 hours, the nozzle and hand grips were terrible and seemed to generate a lot of heat.
Good – Only had it a couple of days but performs very well and has a good selection of tools with it. It does a good job. Small and compact. Not enough information supplied. The steam guage is not in the most readable position.
Terrible – It's not this unit itself so much as just the whole concept of steam cleaning. Good idea, just not a great deal of use in practice. Save your money and stick with doing what ever it is you want to clean the old manual way. I agree with the other reviewer -- it really is just another useless gadget. Has a few tools that allow it to be used for a… Read more
variety of tasks like steam mop, glass cleaner, etc. Gotta admit, it just doesn't live up to its promise. For example, to believe the advertising about steam cleaners in general, shower screens should be sparkling and free from soap scum using this! Sorry, it aint. I still need to rever to chemicals. Too much trouble to drag around the floor to use as a mop. Not hot enough to get grease off a BBQ. Too much pressure to clean out window crevices -- it blows muck from the tracks all over the window.
Terrible – I returned mine as I wasn't satisfied and went back to scrubbing. Makes cleanign a little easier. Cumbersome to use, you still need to scrub afterwards anyway so really just another unecessary 'gadget'.
