HAAN Multi Purpose Floor Steamer SI-A70

Wish I hadn't bought it – I thought I would spend the extra money $239 on a supposedly good steam mop. It is heavy but that wasn't a problem. I found the floors were quite wet and took a little longer to dry, still not a big issue. I could see when the sun hit the tiles, they were streaky and as a result didn't look that clean. Within the first month the water tank had… Read more
cracked and I had to buy a new one $25. This lasted maybe 2 months and had to replace again. All I did was put water in it and one of the descaling sachets in it. Then the screw top on top of the water tank started leaking and the water would pool around the bottom of the steamer. No replacement parts were available for months. In the end I bought a cheaper $120 Black & Decker steam mop and have had no issues. Lucky I can use the pads from the Haan steam mop.
Frustrated – I have had my Haan steam mop for about 5 months. It worked well the first couple of times then the water tank cracked so I had to buy a replacement tank. This was within the first month. Now it is leaking again and it appears its through the cap on the tank and the water is pooling on the ground. The tank is drained within 5mins or less. This is… Read more
one of the more expensive ones out there so I expected that it would be a bit more reliable and robust. When its working its ok but when it's not, it's just taking up room in the cupboard. Not happy with it. The spare parts are out of stock.

Flimsy plastic casing on the main unit breaks easilhy – Casing on the main unit around where the swivel head goes has broken after only 6 uses. Not able to replace the assembly unit as Ebay hasn't stocked it in over 6 months. Very poor customer service. Now the unit wont even heat up to clean. Show details
Great mop when it isn't falling apart – We loved this mop, reviewed well and when its together, it works really well. but the mop falls apart. Starts with small pieces of plastic breaking, then the handle cracks and we held that together with duct tape, then ultimately the head disintegrates rendering it useless. For an appliance that costs over $300 and in a world where we are trying to reduce landfill. I would expect allot better. Show details
Don’t trust the reviews – I purchased this steam mop after canvassing as many reviews as possible. Yes it does a good job - steam power, good cloths, long cord length and quiet operation. However, a) the water tanks are made of the most brittle plastic imaginable and do not last more than 6 months whether in use or not, they’re basically a stiffer plastic bag, guarantee… Read more
you will be buying replacements (note: the tank lids are sold/charged separately) and b) when I needed a replacement tank they were out of stock with no ETA and they were unreachable, I literally waited 18 months. You’re better off with a normal mop and using hot water.
Surpasses my expectations for a steam mop - loving it – Having read the reviews both on this site, CHOICE magazine and Youtube videos on the Haan site I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the HAAN SI-A70 Multi with Extended Flexible Nozzle plus 2 extra cleaning pads approximately a month ago. I was extremely satisfied with the efficiency of ordering and delivery of the steam mop to me, on the… Read more
Sunshine Coast. My experience with steam mops is limited as I borrowed one about 6 years ago and didn't like it at all. However, moving up from Sydney some 12 years ago and now living on the Sunshine Coast, tiles have been the way to go along with a bucket of mop!! I have finally ditched the latter and absolutely love my HAAN purchase. The ease in which I can whizz thru the house and the speed in which it dries (due to minimal water usage) gives it the thumbs up for me. However, I have tried using the attachment for cleaning counter tops and even the upholstery on my little Audi's driver's seat but have to say, it gets a thumbs down as too much steam is emitted and therefore making the area too wet and I was left with a bigger stain than I had before I started on the seat of my car! I use 2 cleaning pads and fill the water container twice to do both the inside and the al fresco area of the house. When I refill the tank I change the pad. I do feel you still have to attack dirty grout the old fashioned way and yes you do have to vacuum the area before starting but that goes without saying! .I am pleased I ordered the extra 2 pads as I have them in reserve. Another minor point - it doesn't stand up as firmly as say, an upright vacuum cleaner, so I am always mindful to ensure it is propped near a wall. Would I recommend this product - absolutely. Some have written about the clicking noise as the steam pumps out - that doesn't bother me at all for at least I know it is working and then the noise changes as it runs out of water. I think the paint job of the product must have been done in one of the car factories in Korea as it is really shiny!! Would I recommend it or purchase it again, most definitely and thank you to this site and its users, along with CHOICE and the Youtube videos from HAAN as I was able to make an informed decision. HAAN does keep prompting you to make a review on their site but I thought I would wait until I had it for a month or so; their marketing is amazing Oh and I have descaled it once, as recommended with no problems. It is now March 2019 and I have had this product 2 1/2 years and loved it until a piece of the plastic broke off - see picture. So, guided by CHOICE magazine, as I am a long term subscriber, I took it up with the company but alas so far, no satisfactory outcome. I am still pursuing it as I feel that a mop that costs this much should not have pieces breaking off of it. I am the only person that uses it and am very careful with it. Under the Australian Consumer Laws it clearly states that we should expect a product to last more than a few years.

Steady worker – I had the Haan for 6 years based on fortnightly usage. It finally stopped producing steam after 6 years (even with routine descaling) as the steaming unit seemed to stop heating up. The plastic bits cracked and fell off the mop head maybe 2 years ago but the Haan kept going. In the last 6 months however the steam didn't feel as hot as it should… Read more
have anymore but it still kept going, albeit not as cleanly as it used to. What I most liked was the 270 degree articulated head which meant it could go under furniture and into tight spaces. I liked that the steaming unit was on the body rather than the steam mop head, so it was light to lug around. However this steaming unit made it terribly unbalanced and the whole thing would always come crashing down on my floor if I didn't prop it properly against something; that's probably what cracked off bits of plastic over time. If not for the previous reviewer about the non-existent customer service and that the mop technology hasn't been updated in 7 years, I would buy another unit.
Great mop, had for 2 years – I have had this mop for two years, and used on wood veneer, tiles, and polished floorboards, all of which it did well. I am looking at replacing the mop pads, as they seem to push the bigger bits of fluff and dirt around, but that would be expected because it can't suck them up anywhere! I've also used the steam function on a floor stain, and it… Read more
worked fairly well, although this isn't the purpose I bought it for.
The long cord is useful, and at 160cm and fairly small, I don't find the mop hard to use or push. I have had no technical issues at all, so pleased.
I've never used another steam mop, so have no comparison, but it cleans most spills and dried on stickiness (our family has five kids under ten!) really easily - sometimes you have to let it sit 3-4 seconds, or go over it, but it's not any harder than a usual mop, and then it dries quickly so the kids can go back to messing it up!
I've never had to refill the water tank while mopping the floor of a three bedroom house, although bedrooms were carpeted, so I can easily mop about 10 minutes without a refill.
Efficient Mop - gentle steam low pressure - fragile water bottle as previous reviewer – I do my research before buying most things. Choice Magazine is my standard reference. The HAAN was voted no. 1 by Choice and HAAN claims this through and through. But that was in 2012 (or 2014) I forgot. $230 via eBay (Klika shop). Summary: I bought the HAAN in Jan 2017. Its made moping a lite workout. Very easy and lasts enough for my… Read more
kitchen and dinning area with 1 tank. I would recommend it for general use. The detailed version below..
I use the mop weekly for the kitchen and dining area. It works great on ceramic tiles that has low/middle level stains. The pressure isn't high enough for very dirty areas. At first it doesn't look like there's much done as the steam output is very little and doesn't leave the floor wet. Very pleasantly surprised after using the full tank for 10min in the kitchen. Walk on a few minutes after due to the steam level.
I can't say effectiveness on carpets as my carpet is untreatable. I use it in the bathroom, toilet, laundry - any area that I can twist the head to get some sanitation on the surface. Table tops - yep! The reason I believe is the amount of steam output. Its not high pressure so doesn't damage.
Overall - its great for a weekly 10 min mop of kitchen and dining area. That 1 tank. 2 tank for bathroom, toilet, laundry and table top/sink top. I use distill water every few tank (cleans the machine). You can of course use the sachet after 10 uses.
However, that water tank is weak and fragile. Mine came with a little crack (I couldnt be bothered sending it back). Sometimes water leaks from the rubber seal if you are not precise latching it on. That is the weakest flaw. EVERYTHING FROM THE HAAN DISTRIBUTOR IS A RIPOFF!!! As such after sales replacement gets the minus star (you have to look after your customers after sales for full 5 stars).
Oki doki - have fun mopping.
Positive reviews
Great but after 3 years the plastic broke around the nozzle which is not fixale – I could do kitchen and bathrooms no problems. Great cleaner but for 3 years worth it is a little steep in price. Did a better job than just a mop and bucket. Show details
Robust good working steam cleaner – Although the water tank is only 240 cc it seems to last a long time. The floor is left just a little damp after cleaning but dries very quickly, especially comparing to the water left by my previous steam cleaner. The pad doesn’t get soaked quickly, it is thick and sturdy. The cord length is 7.5 meter, which is long in comparison to most other… Read more
steam cleaners that I have found. Further more this steam cleaner is tall, and prevents you to having to bend over, it is a very robust and attractive looking machine, but the biggest benefit is the continuous steam production, you don’t need to push and hold a button to produce bouts of steam, it streams consistently and continuously. With all floors in the house being tiled, this steam cleaner is an asset. The only drawback so far is that it doesn’t stand up by itself well.
A Good easy to use Steam Mop – I was after a steam mop which did not leave excess water on the floor, this model is not only easy to use, it cleans well and leaves only minimal water which quickly drys. Show details

Terrible!!! – I bought this steamer and was so excited to use it. It was ok and it definitely produced steam, but after the 3rd use, the nozzle to the water tank broke and I couldn’t use it without that part. this offer push 3 if you don’t want the voucher hang up now… so I thought I would push 2 and get customer service.. nope!!! I was greeted by a man who asked me if I was over 18 and clearly I am so I said yes and he said ok what’s your card number? I said why do you need my card number for that? I said ok well I don’t have a card and he said are you sure?? I said yes and he said call back in 5 minutes and abruptly hung up on me. I wouldn’t buy this steamer again because if this is the people they have running their company I want no part of it!
Pump Died – I bought my 2nd SI-A70 in January and 6 months later the pump died. It heats up but produces no steam. I've contacted Haan 3 times but have not received a reply. The 1st one I bought did the same thing but lasted about 4 years. I like the product, especially since it can also be hand-held but customer services is non-existant (at least for me) Show details

Love mine for more than 10yrs – Floor dries as soon as I move to next area, can walk on it right away. Maybe it's because it's an older model, but mine works great. The hardest thing is finding the micro pads that fit. Show details
UPDATE a week on from my review I’ve been contacted by Haan who offered a discount on a new unit. So not all bad – 2.5 years old and used about 12 times. It has stopped working and so it seems have the phones at Haan P/L. I won't buy another Haan product not so much because it failed but because the company failed to provide any support. Show details
Good while it lasted, but company has vanished without a trace – Purchased this steam mop in Dec 2014. Probably used it no more than 10 times in total. It has recently stopped working. Tried to phone Haan to get it serviced but Haan's website contact details lead to dead ends. The NSW phone number has been disconnected and the website's listed Queensland and Melbourne offices no longer deal with HAAN… Read more
products (and haven't for years). The Queensland office reported similar customer complaints from other NSW customers who were trying to get in contact with HAAN.
Adequate but far from great – Cleans okay but takes a few goings over with the mop. There is not much steam power and the mop stays quite dry for a while. I would prefer more steam power. It still works fine one year after purchase but for my next steam mop won't buy this one again, prefer to try another brand. Show details
Cleans well but Fragile – Purchased in Jan 2017 and have used 1-2 time per week since then. THE GOOD -Cleans well - Tiled floor feel nice and clean and dries quickly. -Good long cord length -Despite small water tank cleans house of 60+ sqm of tiled floor -Good (not excellent) support -Relatively inexpensive -Ability to decouple the steaming unit from the floor mop… Read more
handle/head is a nice touch THE BAD -Fragile - floor mop head cracked and broke after about 12 months - needed replacing -Feels 'clunky' - Awkward to maneuver, my wife who is petite simply cannot use it
Mediocre while working and heating electrical burnt out – It was looked after and had an easy life on a new tiled floor but was never as good as a bucket and mop, only used it for interval cleans The notion of a small pad cleaning a whole floor never really made sense and the floor never felt as clean as it could. More like a warm rag really One day the heater element just started to burn making it… Read more
electrically unsafe and beyond economic repair, I’ve not replaced as I never felt a repurchase of this was justified,
TRIBBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE – I received a steam mop with a missing part. I contacted HAAN customer service. My request# is 2810 which is open for one year with NO RESPONSE. I don't think that it is a proper way to treat the customer. Show details

Pitiful – Do not waste your money on this product. Unstable unit falls over all the time. Only cleans half the dirt off the floor, as wells leaving streaks and smudge marks behind and lines on the floor where the mop starts and finishes. Jenny Waters Perth Show details
Piece of Junk - & Haan don't honour warranty – After only 6 months my steam mop stopped working. It appeared to work but no steam was coming out, only dripping water. The 'money back' period is only 30days, so I had to organise for Haan to fix it. After a few emails back and forth, they stopped replying. It appears to me that they are trying to drag the situation out past the 12 month warranty so they don't have to deal with it. Do not buy this piece of Junk! Show details
been long time and still fit and fine – my house is a average size house, and i am using it, having 2 kids in house and cleaning bit of bathroom and kitchen is bit easy with this.. 2 mop pad are good quality and still going on- yes we do need hand clean some time but its a easy of being quick clean with steam. build quality is also very good. Broke after one use - junk! – We brought this mop hoping that it would be good but it stopped heating and was unusable after one use. Junk! We had a monster mop before that did an excellent job but it just took time to heat up. I would not recommend the Haan mop. I never got to use it. Show details
Brilliant Product – Bought this Haan Floor Steamer few months ago after reading reviews online and I couldn't be happier. I have owned the monster steam mop for 8 years and that doesn't even come close to how good the Haan floor steamer is. and it glides so easily on the tiles. Not too heavy to handle and the attachments are great for cleaning the toilet and bathroom as well when you need that quick freshen up. Highly recommended!
Great product. Bad customer support – Hi, I purchased the steam mop about 2 years ago and it was the best steam mop I have ever used. I should have used it for less than 25 times in the last 2 years and it stopped working. Upon writing to customer support, I was told there is no repair shop in Melbourne and I need to send the steam mop to Sydney warehouse at my own costs for to and… Read more
fro courier charges and the repair will cost 40 dollars.
All up I was looking at about 120 dollars to get it repaired.
This was disappointing as I expected the steam mop to work for at least 3-4 years at its price point and secondly there was no repair option in Melbourne.
Would have given 5 stars if the support was up to scratch.
Brilliant! – This product has totally changed my floor-cleaning life! It is brilliant! I have never seen my floors look so good with so little effort. I used to spend hours trying to get my vinyl and tiled floors clean (we had two dogs and a cat) but just couldn't get all the grime off until I bought this steamer. It cleans perfectly. happy customer and would recommend this product and company to anyone who wants a great steamer for a great price and actually delivers what they promise. Well done Haan!
very happy with it – Cleaning power is quite good, makes the floors shiny. Easy to maneuver. I generally use two pads to clean the house, and wash them in cold gentle short cycle in the washing machine without using fabric softener. The water tank seemed to leak a little water, and they are sending a replacement without a hesitation, good warranty service. Show details
One of my best buys – I bought this Haan steam mop 3 years ago now. It’s still going strong, I’ve never had any problems. I’ve just recently bought some new cleaning pads for it. It’s easy to use and it’s the only thing that makes my tiles shiny and streak. I would recommend this mop. Show details
Was great while it worked! – I bought this mop based on all the great reviews however as they solicit for reviews immediately i wanted to wait till i'd had it a while. I loved this mop. than 2yrs. Haan offered to fix at their cost but we had to pay shipping both ways as it was outside the 12mnth warranty however that would have been quite expensive. So disappointing & Expensive for its short life. I also didnt end up using any of the attachments that i was sold on. However if i got longer use from it it would have got 5stars. I cant bring myself to throw it away but i guess its not going to fix itself!
Third time luck: Finally got the right steam mop – So this was the third steam mop I purchased on my quest for the perfect one. My criteria: Easy to use, long cord, easy to store, storage heat pad, easy to fill, not too wet on the floor, gets hot quickly, florr dries quicklly, don't have to push it to billio, can do tiles and wooden floors and well priced. The Hann covers all thoses bases but is pricey - but worth the extra dollars. Show details
Impressive Steam Mop – Only used twice but absolutely delighted with results. Previous well know brand mop left water all over tiles, this one dries within minutes. Loved the long electric cord, easy enough to manuver corners probably could do with improvement. Water tank easy to refill and in a medium sized home refilled twice. So far I am very pleased with my purchase. Show details
Very disappointed – My steam mop arrived a week ago. I unpacked it the following day, read the instructions to assemble, when I noticed one of the hand held steamer buttons to release it from the main mop is jammed and I cant unjam it without risking damage. I am even happy to drive from the Central Coast to Auburn (at least a 3-4 hour round trip for me) to replace the hand held component, but I get no response form the company.
I am extremely disappointed with HAAN as they appear to be very happy to sell the product, then do nothing to assist after the purchase.
