Extremely Unreliable System – I've become progressively more and more disappointed with this system, and I wish there was a way for me to get my money back. I live in a town where break ins and theft of cars is extremely common, and I have 0 faith that this system will be able to notify me should such an event happen at my home. I'll break down the issues I have had with this… Read more

system: 1. The cameras I have in the back yard are set to "human only" yet they will go off every minute of the day when my dogs walk past, I even tried seeing the sensitivity all the way down, yet they still get set off by the dogs, and the catch is, half the time they won't even set off if I walk past.

2. I have a camera in my front yard that once again, never gets set off even though people are walking past it, I even set this one to "all motion" with the sensitivity right up, yet I can have the postie ride past it on the lawn and it still won't set off.

3. I have the wireless spotlight camera which triggers with motion, however the clips only last 10-20 seconds and then end even if a person is still in the frame, this also means that the spotlight turns off in that time as well, which is frustrating when you are trying to unlock your front door, and not reassuring in the event someone is breaking in through your front door.

4. As mentioned in 3, the clips all end prematurely, it doesn't matter if a person is still in the frame or not, the camera will just randomly decide to end.

5. The playback feature on the app is buggy, and if you attempt to play a clip after receiving an alert, the clip will take a long time to play or will sometimes not play at all, or with only sound and no video, regardless of how strong your Internet/mobile network coverage is.

In summary, I really want to like this system, as the cameras have great quality video and great night vision, and the app is nice when it works, however I want to feel like my house is secure, and that is not the case with these cameras. Unfortunately my wife does not feel safe when I'm not home because she cannot rely on the cameras to notify her if an intruder attempted to enter our house. Take my advice and stear clear, unless you want to spend $1000 on a system with nothing to show for it.

For reference, I have the Homebase 2, 4xEufyCam 2 Pro and the SoloCam L40, all battery models.

Uses non-standard WiFi protocol that is not fit for purpose. Support is non-existent – Cameras are stated to be "WiFi" - however they don't use standard WiFi and will only connect back to the smart home hub which is not able to be extended beyond a single location. If your home isn't WiFi friendly or you need to install cameras with distance or metal objects between them, you're out of luck (like I was). A frustrating and time… Read more

consuming exercise that could be avoided if the cameras were marketed properly with the correct specs.

Attempted to reach out to their support line who allege that they "would love to hear from you" but got crickets back.

For $2k worth of CCTV cams, the experience should be much better. Do better, Eufy.

Footage rarely accessible; always error messages - useless! – Decided to try this for our residential home as I'm sick of paying subscription fees for a Ring camera set up on another property. I quickly came to realise that the Ring set up is vastly superior and worth every cent of subscription fees, since it actually records footage properly and the only time I can't access the footage is when my internet… Read more

connection isn't working properly. Eufy, in comparison, is total rubbish. It rarely records properly (ie it never manages to get people walking up our driveway), so often you only get 2 seconds of someone leaving. Good luck even accessing the footage. Half the time I try to remote into the cameras via the app I get error messages when I know full well that the internet is working perfectly so it has to be the system. I suspect it is the home base which causes a lot of the problems. Not even worth having. It certainly does NOT perform at an acceptable standard. Would never buy this brand again.

EUFY Cameras Broken Since April 23 - End-User Solution to Fix Issue – Like many people - around April 2023, our EUFY cameras stopped recording events. I HAVE A FIX, so if you are one of the many people with this issue, read on. EUFY Support told us to download the updated version of the app, (4.6.4) on both the android and apple devices. Everyone’s issue is that the cameras are NOT saving motion history to the… Read more

homebase , so it CAN’T be “app” related!! When you call EUFY support, they seem to be laser-focussed on the app though, wasting time with a lot of to-and-fro about app state and versions.

If you open the EUFY homebase option on the app, and check storage , you can see no extra events are being recorded. (The number of “motions” is not going up, and the amount of available storage was not reducing).

Last night we decided to investigate the SD card in the homebase. This is what we did:

• We removed the 16gb SD card from the back of the homebase. • We replaced this one with a small spare 4gb SD card, in the homebase • On our phone/pad we got a message to format the card. This failed. • We then took the 4gb SD card out, connected it to a PC and formatted it as FAT (not NTFS!) on the PC. • Putting it back into the homebsase, we got the message again to format the card. This time it worked.

Instantly everything started to work. The live views load, and event history is now being recorded again.

Strangely the “Number of motions” is still not going up, but the storage on the SD card is being now consumed correctly.

EUFY never suggested to check anything about the homebase storage, during the dozens of correspondences with them. That’s suspicious.

I suspect an update corrupted the SD card on many people’s EUFY homebases, around April.

I believe the delay is EUFY desperately trying to work out a way on how to fix this remotely, so people don’t lose their history. They (possibly?) fear to suggest that everyone needs to format their SD card.. making a lot of people even angrier. It’s either that or actual lack of knowledge of the issue.

I have NOT attempted to re-format the 16gb SD card that came with the device.. I’m buying a 128gb Micro SDXC 128GB UHS-1, Class 10 SD card , which is the largest you can buy for the homebase, and must be the older UHS-1 standard. They are pretty cheap. I am doing this in case the 16GB SD card that came with the homebase may be recoverable at some point in the future, if EUFY ever fixes it.

If your history is not important to you, by all means try a re-format of the 16gb card that comes with your Homebase.. (including in a PC first as FAT).

Worse Camera System EVER! – I bought the Eufy Cam Plus - 2 Pack security system a year ago and I still can't figure out where they store any of the clips on the so called 16gb inbuilt storage system. And believe me I have tried to figure it out and even looked online for an answer, but there is no one around with a simple explanation. They do not make it easy for you to… Read more

find, yet Eufy are more than happy to continually inform you of the "paid storage" option on the Cloud.

I still use the system (reluctantly), mainly because I don't have another one to use, (which I would if I did), but I mainly use it for live viewing only.

So my opinion on the system, if you know about cameras and are technically inclined then these cameras are probably for you, but for the most of us who are not, then I would give them a big miss and get your security cameras installed professionally from someone who will actually show you what to do, unlike Eufy who seem to care more about the their stupid "paid" Cloud storage options than to show you how to access the free inbuilt storage option.

Not fit for purpose and no customer service – Purchased from Bunnings. I'll go straight to the main issue: If the cameras are more than a couple of metres from the Homebase, they will spend most of their time "Offline" i.e. not recording and you cannot even view live feed. Zero visibility. This is despite the app indicating the wifi is "Great". I have the Homebase in my garage and the two… Read more

cameras are just outside my garage and they just continually go "Offline". After the cameras went offline in the evening, I left them overnight to see if they came back "Online". They did not. I've tried this during the course of the day as well, same result. Estimated failure rate is about 80% of the time and cameras do not come back "Online" unless taken down, paired again with Homebase, put back up... only to have them go "Offline" again within a few hours.

What makes this worse is that customer service is a ghost. There is no phone number to call and the email I sent was left unanswered. I'm sure there will be the usual proforma or bot posted reply saying "We're sorry to hear this... blah blah... we'd love to hear from you.." to keep up appearances here, which just rubs salt into the wound. I've essentially wasted $549.00. This system simply isn't fit for purpose and with no customer service, I will not buy another eufy product.

Happy with these – We have had the Pro 2K 4-Camera Set for just over 12 months and have found them to be really good. Definitely very clear picture when you look at it through the phone or tablet. The only thing we have found is that it definitely does not last the time it states for battery life. We have charged all our cameras quite a few times already. Also… Read more

Battery life no where near that stated, 1 camera failed – I've had the system for a little over a year, One camera failed just out of the warranty period. It charges but will not sync. The battery life as other have stated is more like 4-6 weeks and can be a pain if you need a ladder to reach the cameras. Next time will go for a wired solution. Show details

Rubbish, not worth the price $200 each – Purchased seperate security camera and then just out of 1 month out of warranty trouble started after 3 full charging the permanent installed rechargeable battery won’t hold power and needed to be recharged every 2 weeks. I contacted the seller to explain the issue I have with this product and that this problem has more of a manufacturing fault… Read more

than anything else as it should be covered by extended manufacture warranty . Unfortunately seller was not willing to refund the purchase price or to solve the issue with the manufacture .

However I found Eufy product too expensive with too many big issues with absolutely no customer service availability.

I would therefore recommend not to purchase this unreliable brand or any Eufy rechargeable cameras!

Poor warranty, No support, no real people to talk to – Bought from Bunnings, camera failed at about 10 months old, eufy does not have a real person or phone number to contact them on, I emailed them and eufy just said as I bought it through Bunnings it’s their responsibility for warranty, Bunnings say it’s eufy. Yet neither company will give me a contact number or name to discuss it further. Both hopeless and frustrating.

Eufy Camera- not worth buying - Very poor battery life – Bought 2 Eufy Cameras from Bunnings warehouse. Poor experience. 1. Camera stops working after say a month because it needs recharging 2. Good Camera, BUT! – I have had the 4 Camera pack for almost two years now and can say its a good camera with easy installation, good video quality specially during daytime and also good battery life, although the battery life is not really as advertised, and varies between 4 to 7 months, depending on the traffic where they are installed. Some other useful features of… Read more

this camera are: Base station is dual powered (battery and main), Both camera and base station are equipped with alarm, although the camera alarm is not really loud, The app is user friendly and easy to set up and use, However, this camera lacks the ability to integrate into any smart home system. Unfortunately Eufy (or Anker) still hasn't delivered their primary promises on Smarthhings or IFTTT integration. From smart home perspective, the eufy camera is a solo player so if you have set up your smart home platform already or are planning to do so in future, look somewhere else as there is no way at all for this camera to be integrated with your smart home platform. This is a big drawback for any product, including this camera, specially in todays market where most brands and manufacturers are manufacturing products which are compatible with each other.

Very impressed – Easy to install ands set up. Originally bought 2 wireless cameras then added another another one. Also added a floodlight with camera. App is really easy to use and very useful. Battery won't last a year before recharging but have learnt to snooze the alarms whilst we are outside.

Effective, Cost Efficient Package – Noting the price relative to full blown/hard wired systems, the two camera wifi pack is ideal for us in a 2 storey townhouse arrangement. The cameras give adequate clarity (if you want high clarity go for a higher end model) and also good night vision which can be in black and white, or colour, although the later drains the battery quickly. … Read more

Settings allow you to see a field where motion detection operates. We have had virtually no false alarms. Battery life is not as long as advertised (up to 6 months) however, that is influenced by being at our front door with higher traffic and the initial set-up stage. I've placed mine where its accessible from a 2nd storey window so I can just reach out and plug in the charger without having to remove it. All the fittings are sturdy and work well.

The App works really well and is easy to use and doesn't over-complicate anything. That is a positive. You can invite other family members into it as an admin or a guest. You can easily forward the footage if required via email etc. I expect battery life to be 2 months with 4-6 detections per day. We have had no drop-outs with our wifi link even through the cameras are outside, but they are within 10m of the base station.

Installation was very easy and as stated and we encountered no problems. If you're looking for minute detail in the footage, then this model probably isn't for you, but clarity is in my view, very good for the price. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and it seems to be well built. I am not concerned with its waterproof claim and it has seen quite a of rain in the first month and performed without fault. Via the app you can turn the cameras on/off as required and manage their detection sensitivity from anywhere as well as what notifications you get. All of that works well, especially at night it will alert you to someone on your grounds well before you hear or see anything.

I'd imagine this is a good package for renters who don't want to make the hardwired investment. The only risk is that they can be easily stolen however this can be avoided by placing the cameras at a height. At the price of sub $400 for the 2 camera model with Home 2 base station, its a good deal and does what the manufacturer has stated.

Old technology dumped on Australians – I purchased a couple of eufyCams to add to my eufy homebase security system. They were easy to set up and worked well. I was happy at first, but as I was looking for more eufy cameras to add to my system I found a eufyCam 2 Pro 2k being sold oversees. selling in Australia. I went to the eufy Australian website and there is no evidence of these new eufyCam 2 Pro 2K cameras being sold in Australia. The max resolution you can currently get in Australia is only 1080p FHD. I purchased the eufyCam 2 Pro from overseas and it still cost me less then the old technology cameras that eufy are flogging off to their Australian customers.

So 6 months on my cameras are working great. But the picture quality between the two different models is really noticeable.

I don’t want to pay more for something that is less just because I’m Australian

Excellent Wireless Security Camera System – (I originally submitted this review for Bunnings & edited it to share on Product Review, 3 months later) This Eufy system is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants very reliable smart home security cameras. We are using Eufy to replace a top leading brand 5 Camera wireless system that we purchased 2&1/2 years ago for over $2000, which… Read more

is unreliable, always 'offline', has monthly fees for cloud storage, the 2 way audio is useless & works best at detecting wind & neighbours cats at 3am.

To explain why Eufy is our choice to replace our current system, we did the research, it simply works & does everything it should, flawlessly.

There are no fees, rare false triggers, no software problems, takes no time to set up, can last up to 1 year before re-charging, 16GB local storage, Artificial Intelligence 'built in' just detects 'Human' during daytime (can be changed), the 2 way audio has crisp, clear sound, all cameras act as sirens (as well as the Home Base) and the system can be expanded & integrate other Security components such as Door/Entry Sensors (1 included), bright Sensor Lights (we purchased 1 @ Bunnings : bright 240V Spotlights/Camera/Siren/2 way audio w remote light switching), Camera Doorbells with new Smart Door Locks & Smart Parcel Drop Boxes on the way, all on 1 app.

So, after one week side by side with the old system, not one false alert with Eufy versus almost 40 with the old system & no more wondering if we left the garage door open (the included Bonus Entry Sensor shows wether it's 'Open' or 'Closed' on the app at a glance & also sounds alerts on the Home Base).

So after such a bad experience with our old Arlo system & this system working so well, we will replace the entire old system & expanding the new with Eufy.

Update: 16/12/20 We now have 7 Eufy Cameras & 2 Eufy Entry Sensors on 2 properties & couldn't be happier with the Brand & system :)
