Eufy Solocam Unobtainable Plastic Bracket
Bought the eufy Solocam 360 , okay with overall camera, battery did drain and the sun didn’t keep the battery topped up beyond 50% depends on the settings, but I guess I needed it on very basic settings to save power. Didn’t have home base 3 . Plastic bracket broke after 2 months , I had to take down to recharge it, Eufy do not sell these brackets separately which I find very inconvenient and is the weakest link in this type of camera. Eufy offered to send me a bracket but communicate dried up and now I dont have a bracket and communication is... Read more dead. So the camera is sitting in a box gathering dust. Searching eBay for a second hand one may take a while, Looking at other brands that have universal brackets that are easy to obtain and a camera system that doesn’t have a subscription. Anyone that has an original bracket I’d like to hear from you.Poor quality & shocking customer service
Both cameras stopped working as soon as warranty expired, went to bunnings where I bough it from and they asked me to contact eufy since warranty expired. contacted their customer service multiple times and never heard anything from anyone. Their products are poor in quality and customer service is shocking. why would anyone buy anything from this brand with this kind of customer service. spend more money and buy something from a reputable brands that back you up when you need their help. Hey,dont get entice with its design and its not worth keeping this CC camera. I had wasted $1500 buying home base with 4 cam.
Here are few reasons:
- battery drianed quickly, they say it sustain for 6-12 mnth but battery drained by 50% in a month.
- solar panel doesn’t work efficiently, I had kept all camera in to proper light but it charges very slow.
- Feature to ignore notifications for known people doesnt work hence send so many push notifications and this drained battery quickly
Thanks
What a hassle
Purchased the EUFY 4 Camera pack.Installed one camera a later another.
The first camera sutdown recharged ok,
Second camera shut down wont fully recharge. Checked the other two cameras same issue.
Contatced so called Support US. No reply.
Eventually found Aust Support.
Long delay in response.
Returned the lot to JBHIFI now without any Camera Security,
The whole system has been sent to Directed Electronics, have not received any reply.
Now just out of Warrantry.
Yesterday received one replacement camera direct from Directed Electronics
I would say the system is not fit for purpose.
Who knows when or if a may have an operational system.
Daily I receive marketing email from EUFY.
What a joke. Show details
Stops detecting movements
The cameras stop picking up motion and even when system restarted or cameras re-added it does not fix the issue. I would not purchase these if I'd have known.Totally Unreliable
I’ve owned two sets of 4 cameras across two properties. After 2-3 years of operation these camera are totally inconsistent in their detection, their recordings and indeed remaining online. I’ve read and initiated bucket loads of support configuration suggestions however both sets remain totally unreliable. Avoid at all costs - you’ll be sorely disappointed as we are. Don’t rely on them for security or safety. Not sure what to buy next. Show detailsAffordable and functional security camera kit
eufyCam 2C Wi-Fi Full-HD 2-Camera and HomeBase KitI bought this kit to keep an eye on the house while I'm away. The kit consists of two wifi cameras with swivel mounts and a central control and video storage hub, called HomeBase that runs off wifi or an Ethernet cable to your wifi router. So far the setup has been running OK for a few months without any intervention on my part. They run off your home wireless connection so that needs to be stable and always on. The cameras are quite small, about the size of a mobile phone lengthwise and are p... Read more
owered via internal rechargeable batteries. If you are away for a length of time I’d recommend you hook them up to a USB charger on a timer so it trickle charges daily or every few days. A high mounted external camera needs a eufy solar panel or very long USB cable to the nearest power point. A great thing about the eufy is you can run it without a paid subscription. Video is only captured by human motion (can be set to any motion) so the clips are often quite short and are stored on the HomeBase to be retrieved via the phone app. The app runs all of the features and you can check in live at any time via the app. The cameras have infra-red lamps for night recording and a small spotlight that can be momentarily operated via a button on the app. The cameras are extreme wide angle so they capture a lot around them. Their image is crisp and you can zoom in on the live feed. They record sound, and have a speaker for you to talk and also a small siren. These features can be turned off if desired. Its relatively easy to set everything up, with lots of voice guidance and once you work out where everything is on the app, easy to use day to day. The primary reason I purchased this setup was it was functional and affordable, and there are obviously limitations with kits like this. The main downside is that if you are away from home for lengthy periods of time and your router freezes then any wifi camera system will be useless, regardless of brand. Another issue is that the HomeBase that runs the cameras, and the cameras themselves, get system updates every now and again and you can't turn this option off, so if any update freezes something and you aren't there to reboot it then its down until you return. I'd recommend you buy a wifi power plug at the same time as the kit so if the HomeBase freezes you can reboot it via the wifi power point. You might want to leave house keys with a friend in case your wifi freezes while you’re away. If you don’t take up the paid cloud storage option and someone steals the HomeBase then the video of them stealing it will be gone as well. There are options to back up videos to a NAS if you look online. These are relatively minor downsides compared to the ability of getting a functional security camera setup at low cost, without the need for a paid subscription.Hardly working
I have 2 sets of 4 of these cameras now they hardly ever work or pick up anything at allTotally useless
Don't waste your money also contacted support with no answer's
They were great cameras..!!
I absolutely loved these cameras, they performed so well. I’ve had them over 12 months. There is a major flaw now with the system ever since they did a update two months ago, and one recently, they are now useless for a security system only for decoration, they now don’t pick up any motions or even when someone is literally at my door. Don’t waste your money on these, eufy was the best in the market, but they went and changed something in the update, and now they are horrible, I’m so disappointed in them. Not to mention the customer service side is all AI very horrible to deal with. Show detailsGreat little cameras
Purchased these to add to my home security system. Great images and easy to operate and set up, they do what what they promise , the price is great compared to other brands. The best part about eufy is there is no subscription attached to them, solar panels are also available at an extra cost but are worth having as there will be no need to pull the cameras down to recharge them, the cameras seem to be a very good quality and operate in all weather conditions. Your wifi router plays a big part so make sure you have a quality router. Show detailsTerrible
Had these cameras well over a year now, and they just don't record every motion, you set the activity motion and still doesn't capture everything, it's like it only records when it feels like it have everything on high motion and still does not pick up, definitely do not reccomd these, we will be going to hard wired.Only 2-years of use before going dead!
After two years the camera will no longer pair to the Hub and tech support says buying another one is the only solution. Show detailsAbsolutely does the job
Pretty decent resolution for the price. App is easy to use. Two-way microphone is just brilliant. Solar panel addition gives a set and forget option which suits us better, no charging required and the camera remains operational and not down for the 5 hour recharge. 4m cord is plenty for the solar panel but get some 5mm cable clips to neaten any cord that does go from the solar panel to the camera, about $2.10 from Bunnings. Made it look much more professional. Advice for installation is the camera fixing may not give you enough rotation to ge... Read moret the coverage you need if fixing to a fascia. We just added a wooden block to give us extra wiggle room and that solved the issue. Eufy should provide a security sticker in every product as you only get one with the base and camera bundle. I would have liked at least 2.I would never buy wifi cameras again
I am going back to the cameras that run by electricity. These wifi ones are quite useless. Don’t record most of the time. They fog up. Show detailsEufy cam
Okay but I am changing to another brand that you can replace the battery or run extention power cord to it Show detailsQuestions & Answers
Hi, we would use one camera at our house the other camera at our shed.
Will the camera work when the shed is 80m from the other camera at the house??
My guess is that 80m would be too far. Perhaps a Wifi Extender may solve that however.
Recordings are disappearing overnight. Not visible the next day and not in the history.
Is there a date and time stamp
