Poor service, poor product – Purchased the TMDZ80L as the only solution able to fit under a roller shutter on my ute in November 2021. Fast forward a year, and the baskets have worm through to bare metal on the product, which I am being blamed by Evakool for "overloading" as someone who solely does weekend trips, with the occasional 10 day trip over holidays amd only needing… Read more
to service myself who doesn't eat much and a the 7yo kid I find this statement very hard to believe given its size. If this is their claim, you are void of warranty if you pack much more than a few water bottles and some milk in it. Took it into Evakool directly, where I was treated with blatant attitude that their product is definitely "not at fault" Yes, my holidays to tend to lead me down a few corrugated roads but according to their own product descriptions, their product should be able to contest this. Their solution whilst me standing there, was to get some rubber kitchen non slip pad (which they just so happened to have a roll of right there - leads me to believe this isn't the first issue they have had with this occurring!) Which a) isn't fit for purpose on a $1200 fridge B) Isn't hygienic at all C) is hardly a solution when the baskets are clearly faulty and have caused the issue in the first place - given the side which holds the compressor was going through exact same thing and have barely been used.
Silicone seals had all degraded and showed mould spores forming, despite regular cleaning with soapy water. Name plates had also rusted out, given it had only ever been under a roller shutter, then later into a canopy so small condensation but well ventilated, again shows a poor thought out design (they advertise this as being suitable for being in the back of open Ute's exposed to the elements)
Have seen a waeco fridge, that gets put through far worse punishment, not even show signs of any of the above
Absolutely abysmal service, attitude and product. It is currently with them to advise further with management. However, given their attitude Monday, I will be lodging a complaint with ACCC to ensure my consumer rights are being protected by a company, I was so badly wanting to support being Australian, which we are lacking so much of nowadays.
Bad product, terrible customer service – We purchased the TDMZ-95 thinking, being an Australian company we thought we would get a good product with local support in case we needed it. From first use, we had a problems with: - the fridge will stop working above 36~37 degrees ambient temperature. - wifi connectivity(unreliable, unusable). The customer service people will happily leave you… Read more
with a faulty fridge. I have taken it to the repair agent who doesn’t want to deal with EVAKOOL, they have stated ‘we are going to stop servicing EVAKOOL as they’re too difficult to deal with’. Hoping to return the fridge to get a refund, may have to involve ACCC. My advice: spend a little more and buy a fridge from a different manufacturer
Absolute rubbish – Have had the TMDZ95 for 2 years and have finally given up on it. Won't work when too hot (ambient temperature), constantly throwing error codes, control panel stopped working after a few weeks (warrantee repair that took ages), high power consumption when working. We gave up and brought another brand and now have no problems. Buyer beware - poor quality rip-off. Show details
Evakool Warranty Shocking unable to get fridge fixed!!! – Purchased fridge for our camping trips. Have owned it for less than a year. Condenser failed and repairs weren’t successful. Evakool are having us the runaround with no resolution. Service ticket no even being acknowledged. Show details
Looks good on paper in reality crap – I purchased my fridge via Harvey Norman Online in July 2020, which credit to Harvey Norman was quick and no fuss. Initially I was very happy with the price and the build quality. The WIFI connection is handy (never used it but still a nice feature) the dual zone removable doors are also a handy feature to allow easy loading. Unfortunately that is… Read more
about where the good part ends, after a few months I noticed that the fridge (not the compressor...Evakool, the entire fridge) would turn itself off after cooling down to the desired temp, it will then turn itself back on several hours later, usually when it had reached room temp again.
This happened once or twice over a few months so no big deal. However in recent weeks it has become a chronic issue, not only does it turn off in my car when connected to 12v it also turns itself off when connected to mains power. It has become so bad that it cannot be turned on for days on end and it is currently been off for the best part of a week and appears to be dead.
I lodged a complaint with Harvey Norman online on the 16th April and the only response I received from the supplier (Evakool) via Harvey Norman support was they assumed I was talking about the compressor turning off because that is how ALL fridges work!! This was after almost 2 weeks of waiting.
Does Evakool really think I would submit a warranty claim for a product that is working?
Not only does Evakool obviously think I am an idiot they also show complete contempt for their customers by providing half assed replies which stink of stalling tactics.
I will be pressing them for a full refund, so think long and hard about purchasing from this company.

Not buying one – Well after 2 mates of mine have had multiple problems with evakool, with performance and warranty then reading some of these reviews I think I will buy a engel fridge.
Just don’t buy one – We were really happy with our purchase. 12 months in with limited use- lights on and nobody’s home. Rang up 3 service agents 2 of which are over 200kms away- all 3 were very clear on ask for a new fridge or your money back. Evakool slow to deal with and have to send unit from Pt Hedland back to Qld. This has meant we have had to cancel our… Read more
daughters 21st camping trip because it wasn’t working and now our Xmas holiday because by the time it even gets to Qld for them to look at it there is no way that they could get it back in time. Very unhelpful after service. Should have stuck with ARB, Engle or WACO. The design on this was really great and it is unfortunate that after service does not have a can do attitude and that service agents refuse to deal with them for extremely slow responses and parts etc and that was even before Covid. Do yourself a favour- buy a different brand. The new versions have cheap Chinese compressors and ours are apparently prone to gas leaks- which I’m told is not repairable anyway. Would have been happy if they just sent a new fridge after somebody diagnosing from our area- in Port Hedland Pilbara- not frigging 200kms away in Karatha & they didn’t want to touch it either or Qld. Not good enough.

Short Term Review..Initial Impressions and short time Usage – I bought this 12v Fridge TMDZ-80 for several reasons. 1/. A low profile..so the other half could get easier access to the fridge. 2/. It has multiple access to the fridge compartments...because it has 2 dual sided lids with solid locking mechanisms and have good seals. 3/. It is reasonably priced when you consider purchasing a 12v 80Ltr dual zone… Read more
fridge...as some are nearly $2000.00 4/. An Industry leading Warranty on their product..Workmanship 3 years..Compressor 5 years. (conditions apply) 5/. Solid Handles and Anderson Plug electrical connectors for 12v operation..
So I was not too disappointed in my choice as the 12v camping fridge market is "overflowing" with a multitude manufacturers. When I started to setup the fridge, the LED Control Panel is easy to understand and use..what did surprise me is the Compressor is very quiet when it started to cycle to keep the dual zones cold. I have yet to place this fridge in the front compartment of the camper and really put it to the test, for it is sitting in my garage ready to be the Xmas Fridge. At present it is working fine on 240v..so far no problems...but we will see..
Spend the money on something better – Have had overheating problems with this fridge. Can't seem to handle the same temperatures and conditions my cheap kings fridge can. Had to return it for two months to get that "fixed". Now the seals on the lids are all starting to perish. Wish I'd spent the extra on an engel. If warranty servicing takes so long that people have to buy your… Read more
competitors products to get them by while waiting for your product to be fixed you are failing as a company.
Not working from out of the box – Purchased for a trip away and when turned on one side froze everything when set on 4 degrees and the other side wouldn’t cool. After poor response from online tech support I took it to Evakools service agent. Fault found quickly but 4 weeks on still waiting for Evakool warranty support to respond. Extremely disappointed in service. Poor quality control and responses to warranty department takes up to a week for them to respond. Show details
