Hi, I'm really looking for maintenance advice. I am very happy with my fan light but after about 3 years the flourescent light tube has failed and I can't get the glass out of the fitting to replace it. I don't know the model type but it was one of the early models. I could not have it installed at the time of purchase due to termite damage to the support timber, hence the long delay in installation, but after ceiling repair it was installed OK and has worked well ever since. However the lack of the main bedroom light is now a real problem [th...e light is wired back to a wall switch so not a remote problem]. I have tried your troubleshooting website and visited Beacon lighting where I got it, but it has been no help, and the use and maintenance manual advice has not worked. The light glass has not been removed before so perhaps age has frozen the light cover, but I would greatly appreciate and hints or advice as to how I can overcome this problem. I don't want to have to buy a new fan unit as I can't afford that at this time. by the way I noticed a contributor complaining that the fan does not deploy when switched to low. This should not be a problem, as I have always switched on to fast level and the changed to lower speed after the fan blades are out. always works well. Thank you for any relevant advice you can give me, Regards, Ron Webster
Looks great and I like it, but a few practicalities I don’t love
I bought two fanaway Evora’s last year. They look great and I do like them. What I don’t love is that they are quite noisy when you turn the fan off and the blades shut away with a BANG - this isn’t great in the middle of the night when people are sleeping.
Also the lowest setting is still quite fast - probably because the blades use centrifugal force to open. It’s too strong when you just want some light airflow in the room.
I will not buy another
I purchased two of these fans in 2017. Last year the light in my daughter's room started playing up - turning itself off and has now not worked at all for the last 2 months. The fan is fine - but it does not get used very much.
My electrician says it's the transformer, but when he tried to get a replacement has been told that replacement parts are no longer supplied for this product. He was offered another new fan at half price. They must be joking! Why would I purchase another of these?
Blades snapped off.
At first I loved this fan, we purchased 2 of them they looked and worked wonderful.
Yesterday however the fan blades just snapped off and catapulted through the air near missing my husband and myself.
What is more disappointing is beacons response, 'this is a good fan and that the reviews are not the norm' and hasn't happened often'. Really Beacon, that's your response? Terrible, it shouldn't happen once let alone many many reviews I read of happening all the time, is it going to take a serious injury before this fan is recalled? Will never recommend this fan or business to anyone ever again!
Hazardous product. It should be recalled!
This is the second such occurrence, in a separate fan of different room, also a fanaway evo1 prevail.
The blade of the fan snapped off the fan and came flying off at a high speed. It dented and left some marks on our walls. It almost hit my husband who was sitting directly below.
Upon researching online, seems like other consumers have had similar near missed events from the same model.
This fan is extremely dangerous. Please do not get it. It should be recalled.
Dangerous Fanaway blade braking off.
I was sitting with my family under my older fanaway ceiling fan when a blade broke off and landed on the floor after hitting and damaging the wall and the dinner table - missing my brothers arm by about 10cm. Contacted our local Beacon Lighting store and told that it would be out of warranty.
Obviously, the warranty is not the main issue, but the fact that it went hurtling through the room - very dangerous indeed. Also we have others in our home and I would be mortified if someone was hurt. Regardless whether it is an older fan it was obviousl...

Avoid buying - defected product - waste of money - too many problems.
Have 5 fanaways installed in my house, occupied by 2 adults. Product is expensive in comparison to other fans. Have had issues with remotes, receivers, bulbs and all timely after warranty has expired. Casing of light has turned yellow for two, fans or light or both not working on others. Remotes can turn on light/fan in another room. Beacon sent a technician few years back and advised receivers are cheap and won't last and will continue to have problems and guess what he is right. We have resorted to purchasing lamps and given up on th...e fans altogether. Out of hope that Beacon would come good, contacted them again - noting that the product is are well out of warranty. After a lot of to/fro, they offered to provide an electrician to come out however if found to be "serviceable parts" then I would have to pay for the electrician and the parts. Not explained is that this product has many serviceable parts that need constant replacing/fixing. Bulbs blow shortly after replacement, Remote receivers go and you have to purchase a whole new remote, the casing ...well not sure what has to occur to fix the it now being yellow. You continuously spend when you have this product. I have had issues with all 5 of the fanaways - different issues. Really don't waste your money, just get normal fan/lights which have a good track record and will last. Otherwise most likely in a few years time, you will be writing such a review as I am now. My Fanaways are going to the dump as that is all they are good for. Reluctantly I have to purchase new ones.
Purchased in August 2014.
I bought a new tube and it didn't work, . Have to take it back.
Also the shell has turned a yucky yellow colour, it isn't very old and it cost a lot of money.
Will speak to beacon lighting tomorrow. Fan is effective and quiet.
Terrible, numerous faults
I have 4 fans, they all initially operated wonderfully, but within a short time the fans had started to slow and I had to replace recievers, then ballasts, one has turned yellow. Currently all 4 fans only operate at two speeds, Slow and Very Slow...!, I have persisted for 3-4 years but they are heading to the dump, the prettiest but most unreliable ceiling fan I have ever known or owned. Waste of money
Installed 4 Fanaways in October 2014 had one fans blades fly off into a cupboard and dent it, one where you have to physically spin the fan for it to work and another which when the fan was turned on sparked and blew up. I am absolutely applauded with this product and would never have bought them if we knew when purchasing that if something was to go wrong we would have to replace the whole fan as apparently you can’t replace the fan motor in them. For the money you pay for them you would expect them to last longer than 4 years and have replacement parts. Absolutely waste of money

Whisper quiet they say?
Installed 3 fanaways in Nov 2014 2 evo prevail and 1 endure. 1 prevail was faulty & replaced by Jan 2015. Their whirring noise gets progressively louder over time, speed selection also goes. 4 years & out of warranty only solution/support received is to buy new ones. Why would you?
Watch out! Hazardous fan
The fan was switched on and operating in my four year old daughter’s room when all of a sudden there was a loud noise. The blade then snapped off the fan and came flying off at a high speed. It collided with a lamp in my daughter’s room and then hit her on the face. She sustained some red marking and bruising, which we have photos of. The fact that she avoided more serious injury was quite remarkable given the speed at which the blade came flying off the fan. We are now unable and unwilling to use the other 3 fans in our house as they are clear...ly hazardous and unsafe for use. If the same thing happened in our young baby’s room and had connected with her skull she may have been knocked unconscious or sustained other serious injuries. A product with such a major fault and which poses a clear threat to its user’s health and safety should not be allowed and should be recalled. As evident from the other reviews on this site this is not an isolated incident and is happening to many others. I will be reporting this to the ACCC. Please if anyone else has also encountered this problem I encourage you to do the same through the following link https://www.productsafety.gov.au/contact-us/for-consumers/report-an-unsafe-product Please do not purchase this fan and if you have it be very wary of it while it is in operation especially around children.

Not Happy at all
I have had these fans for plus or minus 4 years. They stopped working suddenly this past Dec the blades don't open although the fan is running. I called customer service and they offered to send a technician to assess and possibly replace product. Only to be gutted after being told to pretty much put them in the bin as they are a deleted item and go back to the store to buy new ones and get their technician to come and instal them for a fee. The manager could not spare a minute to speak to me. I don't think it's fair treatment at all. I don't think I will recommend these at all. If anyone can assist me what sould i do . I thank you in advance.

Risk of Decapitation!!!
OMG! My partner and I were sitting in the lounge watching TV on 26 Jan 2019 (Australia day) afternoon. All of sudden we heard a loud bang followed by a loud crashing noise from the ceiling fan after a few seconds. The cover of the light also fell off right in front us. We quickly run and switched off the fan. We were completely shocked! Our dog was shaking. We could not believe one of the fan blades had flown out and hit the window. Lucky we had our blinds closed, otherwise the blade could have smashed the window. The problem is I purchased 2...of the same ceiling fans. One in the lounge and the 2nd in the bedroom. I’m afraid to use it now. What if it happens while I’m sleeping...? 2 fans purchased 3 yrs ago from Beacon and Installed by their recommended electrician. Warranty only 24 months. I no longer have the receipt as it’s out of warranty period.
Terrible - Don't buy LED Drivers keep failing
Terrible we have 5 or 6 of these fans. On the LED models the LED driver keeps failing. Had to buy three of them at once. Beacon lighting in Sydney does not seem to stock these drivers. These fans ar definitely not cheap, so I do expect a better quality.
Blade snapped off
I turned on the fan yesterday afternoon at low speed & about 10 mins later there was a loud bang & crash. I went inside to discover one of the blades had snapped off. It had hit & chipped the wall before crashing into the kitchen bench & ending up on the floor. The fan was still on & wobbling - something it had never done. I turned it off immediately. No ceiling fan should shed their blades, thankfully no one was inside at the time.
I purchased this fan after recommendations from friends & now the same friends are very wary to have their fan...s on. It seems I'm not the only one who has had this issue after reading some of the reviews. Not sure if this was a bad batch or a design flaw or perhaps I purchased a lemon? Anyway no ceiling fan should have blades breaking off & be a potential weapon. I'll email Beacon about the issue.
Expensive and poorly made product
Fan cost around $650 with controller not including installation cost. Hard to believe 3-4 times the cost of the most expensive other ceiling fans on the market.
Light cover went yellow after 1-2 years. Unable to sleep with noisy operation.
Fan speeds not fast enough on setting one to open blades.
Faster on setting 2 than 3.
Thinking of upgrading to a $100 Dc silent fan from Aldi.
We have 5 Evo2 Endure fans through our home, all installed by a licensed electrician. How these fans have performed over the last few years has been acceptable, but this opinion has now changed. 2 Days ago one of the fans suddenly had a blade brake off and fly across the room. We are too worried to turn on the other fans, at this very hot part of the year. We went to Beacon Lighting with this and they have tried to get in contact with Fanaway for the last 3 days with no reply to either phone calls or emails. We have had many types of fans ...over the years, some cheap and some expensive, but have never had a safety issue and would expect the same from a very expensive fan such as Fanaway. After reading a number of reviews of the same nature, ie. blades flying off and not getting any help from Beacon lighting (the sole distributer of these fans) we intend to take this further as it seems a safety issue which perhaps needs a recall.
Diffuser turns yellow!
Would not recommend this fan as per other reviews, after a few years the diffuser turns urine yellow in colour but besides that the fan is okay - just disappointed in the colour change for such an expensive product too. I think there's a lack of UV stabiliser in the product which causes it to turn yellow over time. Tried contacting them and their response was to buy a new diffuser, sad that the diffuser won't even last a few years without discolouration for such an expensive product - pretty sure it goes against the ACC's Consumer rights & guarantees. Would highly suggest anyone with similar problems lodge an ACC instead of their solution of "buying a new diffuser". Disappointed!
Best fan ever
This is the best fan I have ever owned. Not only does it look great, it is so quiet you only know it's running because of the breeze. I have had it for a couple of years now and never had any problems. I will be buying more of these.
Questions & Answers
Patrick here...........How do I change the globe in this Evo 1 Fan please?
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your enquiry.
The white plastic diffuser needs to be removed by holding the metal part above the diffuser with one hand and turning the diffuser in an anti-clockwise direction about a 1/4 of a turn. The diffuser should then come back and you just unclick the tube from the wire and take the tube out. Regards Amber - BL Customer Service
I have a brand ne unit with broken glass. How do I get a replacement?
All spare parts requests need to be made through your local/closest Beacon Lighting store. If you do not live near a store, if you call them, they can find out the costing and availability for you

We have 2 evo endure we love them but cleaning has been an issue: we dust the top regularly but have now noticed underneath the blades look dirty. Is there a wat to clean underneath the blades at all.
