I bought two of these a few years ago and they have worked well. I had to replace the globe on 1 & when that didn't help, I was told I needed a new ballast. Fortunately, they were still available to purchase. The fans are absolutely impossible to clean. I live on my own and the one that gets the most use is full of dust. It would have been… Read more

extremely helpful if the staff at Beacon lighting had shared this information. You need two people, both standing on ladders, to get the blades out. This fan has been spraying a light oil around the room. I only noticed because there are spots on the mirrored wardrobe. I clean the mirrors & the next time I use the fan, the spots are back. Should I be worried? Does this mean the blade/s will fly off? The globe has gone again. I have tried to purchase a replacement. Beacon has them on sale for 50% off, however they are not available for click and collect only delivery. Disappointing Beacon.

Hi. I purchased 7 fanaway's to do all the rooms in my house. I have replaced 5 diffusers in the past. I have had one blade fly off across the room randomly. They did replace all the blades on that fan free of charge. I currently have one fuser which has gone a sickly yellow so I have had to remove it. Beacon Lighting have said that my diffuser is no longer available so I am considering my options how to replace the fan.

The fan is okay for a small bedroom, but the light failed. I pulled it apart and it is built cheaply. In my photo of the circuit board, the arrow points to 3 x optocouplers, under a dollar each for the manufacturer. They burnt out after a short time. Beacon was very helpful in ordering a new light unit but that cost me $100. I'll keep the fan I… Read more

have but will look for alternatives for the other bedrooms. Although to be fair, better circuitry means European made which would cost a lot more than this product. Also, very hard work to clean! There is no lock-out function for the blades to clean unit.

Help how do I clean light bowl? – I have had my fan for years and enjoyed it, lived surprising guest! It is very hard to clean the blades and must be done weekly or builds up in Louisiana moisture! I main complaint is I can't get the globe off to clean the bottom. It looks burnt. I fear a fire Hazzard! How do I see if dust in there that can burn or clean this out!? Show reply

Cannot Believe That The LED Lights Can’t Be Replaced – Won’t be purchasing another. LEDs fail so you have to replace the entire unit. How dodgy is that! Had an electrician in to inspect and confirmed that everything was still working except for the LED plate, Beacon Lighting confirmed that this part is not a replacement part

New model of this fan is great! – I had originally installed the much older model and had a Fan blade snap off during use. Blade flew across the lounge room. Rang Beacon lighting customer service / warranty and they could not have been more helpful. I have changed my review from a 1 star! I received credit towards a new fan and an electrician came to install at at time that suited me. Thank you Beacon lighting.. I now have a new improved, quiet functional fan. Recall this product! – Do not purchase! Blades snap off whilst in use. 2 fans and 2 near misses. Left a nice slice thru the wall. Lucky it wasn't someone's head! Will now be replacing the other 5 in my home before someone is seriously injured!

Great fans, these Fanaway fans – After over 10 years of service, I thought I would like to write a review on both fans. We purchased 2 EVO 2 Endure fans in 2014. The fans are excellent, and they have worked perfectly. Unfortunately, in 2020 water damage to the ceiling due to severe storm, one of the fans fell from the ceiling and was damaged beyond repair. This was replaced by… Read more

LEDs don’t work anymore – Hi, we’ve had this fan for a few years now and it’s been faultless. However the LED lights won’t work anymore. I’ve replaced the remote and it seemed ok for a while but now nothing. A click when I press the light button on the remote but no lights turn on. Show details ·  1

Fanaway are useless fans! – I can’t believe how hard these fans are to clean! Now I’ve broken one and they say we need to buy 4 blades as they don’t sell just one!!! Also, everyone be aware that they suggest that you need two people to clean these fans standing on a ladder each!!! How ridiculous is it that they don’t have a lockout mechanism to keep the blades extended while Cleaning .

Rubbish to clean – Have had two of these for a few years & when we purchased we were told by the sales person that to clean, you just pull the blades out... This is not true & although we have had no trouble with the workings of the fans, they are impossible to clean, they gather a lot of dust & deposit it throughout the room. A very expensive lesson for us & I do not recommend.

Horrible product – This stopped working in an year. It's in our pergola. Only switched to "show off" few minutes when friends come over. Fixing the Remote Receiver – Mechanically the fan has performed beautifully for 4+years, super quiet and vibration free. However the light has been malfunctioning, turning on and off randomly. The receiver is expensive to replace out of warranty so I investigated for myself. Turned off the power and removed the receiver unit (the small white plastic box secured by two small… Read more

screws and two plugs) Opened the receiver box to find the circuit board embedded in grey silicon rubber type padding. The board has two very obvious large electrolytic capacitors (50Volt, 1000 uF) and these are the most likely component to fail. I removed the grey rubber from around them with a small screwdriver and found one had completely failed with yellow goo oozing from the end. The local electronics shop had replacement capacitors for about $2.50 each. 20 mins work had the old capacitors desoldered from the board and the new ones installed(I replaced both just for economy of effort), paying careful attention to polarity. I replaced receiver unit in fan and the light now works perfectly. Total cost $5 plus 20-30mins at the workshop bench and a trip to the electronics shop. Hopefully the fan won't throw a blade like many have reported but we mostly use it on low speed only.

It has noise problems – I've only installed this fan a week ago, after being told it was very quiet. It has an occulting motor noise which is annoying, but worse, after a few hours of being on - and in the middle of the night - it develops a non-rhythmic intermittent tone like someone running their finger over the rim of a glass - enough to wake you up. Great looking fans, but run out of steam! – We bought a fanaway for our bedroom and loved it so we bought another 2 for our living area. They look great and love the fact the blades hide away. They performed very well in the beginning but around the 3 to 5-year time frame, the fan in the bedroom now is so slows, that you can count the rotations when on high (it spins at a snails pace… Read more

compared to when new). One of the fans in the living area (3-4 years old) shakes and wobbles when on med/ high. For the price of the fans, the quality and longevity isn't great consider this when looking at this fan. We have had basic standard fans last well over 10 years without fail; so we expected a high end product like fanaway advertises to be, to at least last the same!

Requesting advice – Hi, I'm really looking for maintenance advice. I am very happy with my fan light but after about 3 years the flourescent light tube has failed and I can't get the glass out of the fitting to replace it. the support timber, hence the long delay in installation, but after ceiling repair it was installed OK and has worked well ever since. However the lack of the main bedroom light is now a real problem [the light is wired back to a wall switch so not a remote problem]. I have tried your troubleshooting website and visited Beacon lighting where I got it, but it has been no help, and the use and maintenance manual advice has not worked. The light glass has not been removed before so perhaps age has frozen the light cover, but I would greatly appreciate and hints or advice as to how I can overcome this problem. I don't want to have to buy a new fan unit as I can't afford that at this time. by the way I noticed a contributor complaining that the fan does not deploy when switched to low. This should not be a problem, as I have always switched on to fast level and the changed to lower speed after the fan blades are out. always works well. Thank you for any relevant advice you can give me, Regards, Ron Webster

Looks great and I like it, but a few practicalities I don’t love – I bought two fanaway Evora’s last year. They look great and I do like them. What I don’t love is that they are quite noisy when you turn the fan off and the blades shut away with a BANG - this isn’t great in the middle of the night when people are sleeping. Also the lowest setting is still quite fast - probably because the blades use centrifugal force to open. It’s too strong when you just want some light airflow in the room. Show details
