8 years trouble free
Has been trouble free for 8 years of almost daily use (4 kids in the family). Only problem is the rubber door seal went moldy early on and can't be cleaned, but it's only a cosmetic problem. There is a tiny bit of rust in the body under the door opening, due to the door rubbing on the paint. I touch it up occasionally. Now the main drum bearings are rumbling, so I'll need to replace them, or buy a new machine. But I'm happy with 8 years of constant use, usually overloaded as my wife just jams stuff in until you can barely close the door.
Keeps on going
I thought I would write about our old washing machine (which we are about to replace), because it has done it's job. We wanted a relatively cheap machine, while we were moving locations quite a bit, and for the first five years or so it worked without a problem. The rubber seal did eventually "go", and at this price it wasn't worth repairing. However, we've kept it going for another year by just using an industrial grade sealant. Overall, I think this is money well spent
Only had this machine for 2 years
Only had this machine for 2 years and 5 mths and it has blown the motor, a very expensive repair. We are a couple with low laundry needs, so the machine is not heavily used. F&P have no compassion in regards their product, that is, stuff you mate, it's your problem. Never again will we buy a F&P product.
Cheap and easy to run
Bad customer service and short life span
Was very happy with the quality of the wash - we wash nappies, so this is important - the options available including extra rinse and prewash allow you to tailor the cycle to suit the load you are washing. The time delay function is great as it lets you set the cycle to be ready to hang out when you get home or first thing in the morning. The machine also does not shake the walls down like our previous westinghouse!
Delayed wash, digital time display, number of options and quality of wash - we wash nappies, so this is impornant.
None, working smoothly after 6 months of family loads and nappies.
The machine is great, very efficient, the only problem is, its so loud when its in spin, I often have to close the laundry door its so loud, it sounds like an jet winding up to take off
Everything about this machine is brilliant
the noise when its spinning
OK, but I would choose a more reliable brand in the future. Spin speed is excellent for the price. Electronics is what lets this machine down. Why can't manufacturers make those mechanical dial controlled machines of the past which were super reliable?
1200rpm max. spin speed, water conservation, fabric sensing to adjust water usage and wash time.
Noisy during wash (noiser than my previous LG front load washer). The bottom plastic cover has deteriorated over time. After 23 months of use, I have had an "electronic fault" whereby the washer did not spin.
never ever buy one again. customer care disgraceful, techs own words "this machine is a lemon" 2yrs old control panel now gone 1week still waiting, once in extended warranty help is even worse.shame on you fisher&paykel.
when actually working it washes clothes great
the amount of times it has broken down
Having used front loaders to 35 years, I will never ever buy this brand again. Compared to the other 4 brands I previously bought, this machine lets me down. I have never heard such noise from a spin cycle in any other machine with the same 1200rpm spin. Despite using fabric conditioner, this machines final rinse does not leave the washing as soft as other machines, I use a lot more conditioner in this machine. The 'weights' in the machine do not stop this machine from 'jumping around' when washing becomes unbalanced, during some loads of washi...ng. Overall a good size machine that washes well and it F & P get the bugs fixed it would be worth considering... but until then I will never buy this brand again .... I will stick with Miele. Has a large wash load, I can wash both my king sheets at the same time.Washes the clothes clean. I like the angle of the drain plug .... it stops water spilling on the floor. spin cycle is far to loud, it 'screams' Does not maintain 'balance' at all times, jumps around with some clothes i.e. jeans. Does not leave enough fabric conditioner in rinse to keep clothes soft.I dont like not being able to manually advance the wash cycle if I want to.
I have recently bought this item and am extremely happy with it! As I mentioned in the cons, the instruction manual is next to useless, but it is not too hard to work it all out for yourself. It is still early days, but I opted for the extended 5 year warrenty just in case...
If you are in the market for a front loader, I would highly recommend this one, as it has loads of features and settings and F&P are a somewhat reputable brand - I have owned a F&P toploader before and was happy with that too!
Digital display, delay start, quick wash cycle
Instruction manual is useless
Would not recommend this brand at all. Just cannot beleive how much bad luck this was, if they were to act a little quicker it wouldn't be so much as a problem but to take 2 weeks to atampt to fix the problem in the 1st place was just not acceptable!!
not the technicians fault, clearly F&P need to put on more technical staff and fit the vans with more things so that technicians can fix problems straight away!!
the first wash was ok
broke down after 1st wash. took 2 weeks to fix, but after the technician left the machine was still not working. ...
