The worst dishwasher I have ever owned – I bought two of these dishwashers and both have failed within 6 months of each other with sensors failing. Never again will I own this brand. Once they were amazing now not worth wasting your money on.  Show details

Developed a really loud vibrating noise – Our dishwasher is used on average once a day. It has developed a really loud vibrating noise - loud enough to wake us and we are done the other end of the house. This is a motor issue that happens when machine gets hot. It now determines how and when we use the machine. Basically we can now only use a fast wash and even that is starting to get loud. Our Machine was 4 years old when it started developing the noise. Show details

Stopped working after 2 years! – Seemed a reasonably good dishwasher at first. Cleaned well and was quiet and efficient. However, just after the 2 year mark it started to leak water and error messages appeared E20, E30, E40 All errors relating to hose issues etc. My husband has tried numerous things, including googling to fix the water problem. He is very good at… Read more

technical things being an engineer. Unfortunately, we will need to replace the DW as there is nothing we have been able to identify that is causing the issue. He's even cleaned out with an air hose. Disappointing that we only got 2 years out of it, and will not buy this brand again.

We need to start creating products that stop crapping out and end up as rubbish

They won't catch me again! – Have had this dishwasher for three and a half years, running it overnight three times a week on well pre-rinsed contents. It didn't complete a load and displayed an E20 error code - supposedly a crimped or bent hose (which was rubbish). Took two service visits to finally diagnose the problem - a thing called a "Weir incl flow meter" had leaked,… Read more

spraying water over everything and destroying the drain pump. No reason as to why this should have happened - aside from a comment about it being Chinese crap. It cost me $309 to fix, twelve months warranty on parts. Just as well Morrison is handing out money to us pensioners, as this is the second F & P item since Christmas to fail and I'll be needing the extra.

So noisy! – We bought this dishwasher as reviews said it was super quiet and we were due with our first child.. it is so noisy! We can’t use it if a night time or it wakes everyone up. Only 2 years old and cannot wait to replace it. We have also had issues with the latch of the powder dispenser. If often doesn’t open so we have to run the cycle again!  Show details

Bad design - impossible to keep clean - AVOID – We had the misfortune of buying a house with this product - at first I was pleased it WASN'T a dishdrawer but that soon passed. Fisher & Paykel are not known for great dishwashers and after owning a Miele and Bosch you can clearly see why. You constantly need to wipe across the bottom of the door hinge area because due to poor design it constantly… Read more

has a gunge build up. The rack system is hopeless with trays coming off the runners and the cutlery holder falls apart when loading and unloading. The sliding top tray is hopeless and just gets in the way of loading the upper tray but you need it there for utensils and knives. You also can't trust the tablet/powder dispensing flap as it doesn't always open during the wash cycle meaning you need to repeat the cycle so better to drop the tablet on the floor of the washer. This product does wash the dishes and appears reliable function wise but product design and layout is beyond poor and after you own Miele or Bosch how bad they are really becomes blindingly clear. Will never buy a Fisher & Paykel branded dishwasher or dishdrawer ourselves but we have had the displeasure of buying homes and renting homes with one fitted....their other products such as fridge/freezers and top load washers are great just avoid the dishwashers.

Absolute Crap – In under 1 year of purchasing..it wouldnt start the wash cycle after choosing the cycle so service guy came out and fixed it..and under another year since last fault rectified its doing the same thing..waiting for another service guy to come out and fix it again or replace it. It's been a battle to make a time to suit both mine and my partners full time jobs..what a joke. Wont buy fisher and paykel ever again  Show details

Fantastic!! – After living in a shoe box, washing dishes by hand for 8 YEARS!!!!! I finally talked hubby into a bench top washer. Takes 1hr 45 mins to half clean the dishes. We then moved to a new house with a never heard of before floor standing dishwasher, which sadly, same thing again. Half washed dishes but added a slight after taste of chemicals (ewwwww).… Read more

That finally packed it in. So I stuck to my guns and begged for a new dishwasher. We went mid price range ($500-$600) and purchased the Fisher & Paykel DW60CHPX1 raced home and christened my brand spanking new dishwasher. Surely even a mid range priced dishwasher was just as good as the pay through the nose dishwasher?! 1 and a half hours later I opened my new dishwasher to the sound of harps playing and angels singing. OMG i have never seen dishes so clean and sparkly before!! No water marks, no baked on food and no nasty chemical aftertaste!!!! You can even change drawer heights if you're extra tired and don't want to scrub the big pots and pans! A little noisy but I'd rather put up with that sound than me mumbling under my breath as I hand wash the dishes! The rinse aid lasts a decent amount of time and I am yet to discover a half dissolved dishwasher tablet stuck to the bottom of the dishwasher! I am very pleased with my choice, would definitely recommend it to anyone who will listen and would definitely buy another one if needed too.

Dishwasher great but Detergent MOST used important – The dishwasher works perfectly well. We use Finish Concentrated Gel. Max in 1, Shine and protect. Lemon Sparkle. It comes in a 650ml bottle and you only need to use a desertspoon full MAX per wash. We rinse all soil off before placing in machine and only use machine on 30 minute cycle. No complaints but only praise for the Finish Detergent which we like much more than the tablets.  Show details ·  1

Good solid machine – The dishwasher washes well and is nice and quiet but the drying cycle often leaves dishes still wet. Also the plastic racks don't always slide smoothly, but overall it is still good value for money.

Thank God for the Dishwasher – The title of this review was my catchcry over Christmas. Have found this dishwasher great, I usually use fast wash, (30 Mins) and it washes excellently. Runs quietly, time delay works well as I use it in my offpeak power time. Can't really find anything negative to say about this product.  Show details

Won't release Finish tablet - sometimes! – Bought this dishwasher in August. From the beginning it has frequently failed to open the dispenser lid when using a Finish tablet - the same tablets I've used for years. Phoned F&P and girl told me that oh, you need to put the tab in the cutlery dispenser - the dispenser is only for powder. This is not what the user manual said. It… Read more

regularly leaves spots on cutlery (I think conditioner needs to be topped up far more often than the light suggests. An automatic wash with clean dishes always takes over two hours - it certainly does not sense anything - so of course I never use that setting - and to have the automatic setting I had to forgo a delicate setting. As I set the machine to operate overnight (electricity cheapest rate) there is no opportunity to slightly open the door after the cycle finishes and the drying is pathetic. This week bought a packet of Finish Quantum Max (first time). Used one for the first time last night and the dispenser door only opened when I opened the door this morning to empty. The damp tablet is still intact - and the packaging for this tablet says Don't place in cutlery basket EXCEPT FOR FISHER & PAYKEL DISHDRAWER place it in an empty section of the cutlery basket (capital letters as per packaging). I am using the Normal 90 minute cycle. The other thing is, am pretty compulsive about thoroughly rinsing everything before putting in the washer as I only use it every second or third night.
